The abs module started throwing a code and had to be replaced in 2022 which cost me around 900.00 dollars and the same module has malfunctioned again in 2023. This seems to be a very common problem with 2017 and 2018 ram 2500 trucks. This module should be recalled for parts and labor.
ABS and Traction Control warning. Cruise control will not work either. This started at 25K miles, but the truck was out of warranty because of time. I purchased an ABS Module from Ram and installed it Dec 27, 2023 and I will have to take it to the dealer to program it.
my truck has 130,000 miles on it currently. At approximately 37,000 miles the ABS and Stability systems stopped working due to a faulty Hydraulic pump. I paid $800 to have the pump and control module replaced at the dealership. The brakes worked normally for approximately 20,000 miles. Around 60,000 miles the ABS and Stability systems stopped working again with the same fault codes as before. The pump has failed again due to a stuck brush in the motor. repair parts are not available and I've been forced to continue driving my vehicle with reduced braking and handling performance for the last 90,000 miles. The manufacture needs to get it together and produce parts that will not fail and they need to be replaced at their cost.
It seems that there is a failure problem with a ABS component on these trucks. I have already replace the hydraulic control unit once on my truck at about 27,000 miles and now I am experiencing the same problem again at about 45,500 miles. The ABS and traction control warning lights have come on again indicating a problem. It will flash service anti-lock braking system and service electronic braking system but never really stays on all the time, these lights also will cause the cruise control to shut off. Usually only comes on while driving on bumpy roads, but will come on and go off a very excessive amount while driving. This seems to be a problem with a lot of people with this truck as I have seen from my research into the problem and I think the Ram needs to address the issue with a re
The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the speedometer dropped to zero, and the ABS, traction control, and parking brake warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the doors failed to lock, and the brake lights remained illuminated after the vehicle was turned off. The contact needed to manually lock and unlock the doors using the fob key. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the ABS, hydraulic control unit and hydraulic motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
I concern about the abs control unit is not in the recalls section. I have 2017 ram 2500 cummin and I can't find this particular piece. look like this have the be in recall safety. I'm being with this problem about a year already and is always showing in my dash light all the time. this for sure is a recall problem
See an article that abs failure issues are being reported on 2017-2018 ram 2500-3500. In the process of waiting for an abs hydraulic actuator. Loss of abs and braking
The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the "Anti-lock Electronic Brake Control Inoperative" message was displayed on the instrument panel. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure.
One instance all the brakes locked up on dry pavement. Second instance the brakes were slowing the truck on a wet surface but would not stop and did not engage the antilock brakes properly. 3rd time brake locked up just on right front wheel.
ABS/and Traction Control lights flash on and off intermittently. Cruise Control doesnt always work.
The brakes never have stopping power even with the exhaust brake. It take along time to stop at 30mph and if I'm going above 30 mph I'm afraid I will run into someone ahead of me if they put on their brakes.

No ABS function. Cruise control inoperative. Codes set for ABS module and ABS pump failure.
ABS Module and or HCU finally quit working. Loss of cruise control, ESC (traction control), 4x4 and speed sensor not registering. Had now storm around the 1st of December and got stuck on road in front of house due to loss of traction control and 4x4 not engaging. Dealer had said 4x4 was working when they informed me the ABS module needed replacement. It currently at a private diesel repair shop and they confirmed the ABS module needs replacement. Currently awaiting a ship and repair service to see if the module will work and fix the loss of above. There were two warning lamps on the dash lit up. The ABS and Traction Control light. I am hoping that all I need is the module repaired and that I don’t need the HCU replaced. This is super frustrating because there is a recall on the parts but
This has been going on since May of 2022 Every time I start my truck I get a warning that my ABS is not working and that my electronic braking needs to be serviced. While these lights are active, I have no ABS, traction control, or cruise control. After about 10 to 15 minutes of driving, the warnings go out. The lights sometimes will stay off for twenty to thirty minutes, but normally flash on between off and on at random intervals. I also noticed that I immediately loose ASB and traction control during emergency braking. The lack of ABS has recently caused me to lock up the wheels on wet concrete while towing a camper as a car cut me off to exit the highway. The lock-up caused the trailer to jack-knife, and nearly roll over an embankment. I

A Hydraulic Control Unit malfunction resulting in multiple warning lamps flashing on and off intermittently - including the ABS, the EBS, the Traction Control, and the Cruise Control. This is apparently a known issue with this model year truck and is inclusive of a class action lawsuit, yet there has been no recall. This failure results in unpredictable breaking and/or the ability to break and operate, especially in slippery conditions. This replacement repair is estimated at $1,100-1,300 on top of incredible uneasiness to operate the vehicle.
Digital instrument cluster has stopped working.
Anti-lock break system malfunctioning. This module has already been replaced once in 2021 by a dealership. Now the module is malfunctioning again and needs to be replaced. This affects the trucks traction control system and cruise control. Meaning the vehicle will slide during winter/rainy weather. There are to warning lights that come on on the dash warning you that this system is malfunctioning.

Tailgate lock actuator defect. Tailgate falls randomly while truck in motion when vehicle locks doors once in motion automatically. The actuator over rotates and unlocks tailgate allowing it to drop. Also when using key fob to lock doors actuator over rotates causing tailgate unlock and allows it to fall.

I am writing to formally demand that Stellantis replace the drag link assembly on my 2017 Ram 2500 at no cost to me. The welding performed during Safety Recall V06 in 2019 has rendered my vehicle unable to receive proper wheel alignment, creating an ongoing safety issue and causing premature tire wear. Background In 2019, my vehicle was brought to dealer to have Safety Recall V06 performed. The recall procedure involved welding the jam nuts to the adjuster sleeve on the drag link. I was not informed at the time that this welding would permanently prevent future alignment adjustments to the drag link. Approximately three months ago, I purchased new tires for my vehicle. When I took my truck to have a wheel alignment performed, I was informed that the alignment cannot be completed because t
