2017 Toyota Corolla owner complaints

Did not deploy in a high speed rollover fwy accident that occurred on 10/23/18

Vehicle struck a dear at approx. 50-55 MPH. No airbag deployment. Vehicle suffered damage as far back as the engine requiring replacement of the intake manifold. Front impact bar and core support was noticeably bent. How could airbags not deploy? I was not driving my wife was.

I was driving home on hamilton road, in columbus, ohio, at 535pm. I noticed that my headlights weren't on, when other drivers were trying to worn me. I set my headlights on automatic when I first received the car. I finally found the switch to turn my headlights on manually. Then my car started to brake 10-15 feet from the car in front of me, my tires were squealing. My foot was not on the brake pedal it was still on the accelerator. Disappointed with Toyota on this, last one I will purchase if they are unable to provide a fix! While in motion on every occasion the cruise control is engaged and the vehicle is on a decline the cruise control does not maintain the set speed. This is the first time of 4 other corolla's I have owned that responded like this. Depending on the severity of the decline the speed will increase from 5 to 15 MPH and the engine revs to 4,000 rpms in an attempt to maintain speed. Adam's Toyota dealership has stated that this is a normal occurrence for all 2017 corolla's CVT's and I maintain it's not and cruise is useless therefore I should be reimbursed. Car speeds up at stop or low speeds on highway and streets stop and go traffic

My brakes seem to malfunction when engaged after hitting potholes and/or street depressions. This has occurred on Kensington Street east of Church Avenue. This is between Church Avenue and Dale Mabry Highway among other streets. My safety was put at risk as I felt the brakes were not going to hold or stop the vehicle. No, it has not been attempted to be duplicated. When my brakes were inspected, I was told everything was fine. It seemed no one was interested in driving the vehicle over a pothole and/or street depression. Why would it be inspected when a Toyota Dealership and Firestone reported my brakes were fine without duplicating the situation in which I had a problem. No warning lights, lamps, messages. My 2 front tires continually lose air down to 28 and 29 psi from the 32psi. I

Brakes are slvery soft and have been since 500 miles; and from day one have seemed to soften over time. Braking distance in my opinion is dangerous from the factory. I've had them adjusted twice and I'm about to have it done a third time. I bought the car new and have driven 22k miles. Toyota says there is nothing wrong but since the pedal feel is better after they adjusted them, and slowly gets worse they obviously know what's going on.

During a routine drive on the 91 West freeway my car got stuck in gear. I was unable to move the car that was on a busy freeway that was seconds ago driving perfectly.

Shifting of transmission in vehicle hesitates and/or is inconsistent upon sudden acceleration or deceleration, making it difficult for the driver to determine the acceleration of the vehicle versus other cars on a busy street. There have been numerous instances in which the car is not shifting appropriately and I am unable to accurately judge entering traffic from a residential neighborhood onto a busy intersection as the car will sometimes shift/react to the driver and other times not. At times the transmission reaches and remains at 7, 000 RPM (in red) without shifting and/or is slow in response to acceleration. A campaign recall was issued by Toyota for which the transmission software was reprogrammed on the vehicle; however, these issues still remain. My ultimate concern is the safety

The car was in a traffic jam, when the car automatically turned off and the control panel started to display the battery signal. This event occurred when the car was in the middle of a road. The car was pushed by other person to a safety area and then it was turned on. This situation never happened before. The vehicle battery is practically new and after the incident, the battery signal (lamp) has not been activated. The vehicle was evaluated by a Toyota authorized dealer, cleaning the combustion system, but there is uncertainty that this situation can occur again. A car that automatically turned off in the middle of the road is a safety issue for the driver and passengers, and also for other drivers.

The auto high beam headlights will dim for an oncoming car and quite often not go back to bright for quite some time (minutes/miles). When driving dark, two lane roads I have to turn my headlights off of auto setting, thus completely switching them off as I twist the knob forward to on instead of auto. Then I have to flick the high beams on manually. This process takes a few seconds while driving at 55+MPH which is very dangerous. The auto high beam indicator also completely disappears when this issue happens even though the light is toggled forward to the high beam setting.

Check engine light is on. Throws 5 codes all emissions and fuel errors. Toyota dealership had it for a full day and can not figure out why/cause. Needs for longer. 8000 miles on car.
