Steering becomes unresponsive after highway speed for an hour or more. Feels like sticking or binding (loss of power assist?) and considerable effort needed to adjust vehicle direction. Most notable on exit ramps. Several times I came close to going off an exit ramp onto the shoulder. Even driving along a straight highway the steering is no longer smooth or consistent. Thus, steering is very unpredictable. This is definitely a safety issue. This started at 29,000 mile about 2 weeks ago and has not gone away. The first dealer service appointment is in 2 weeks. No visible error lights.

My 2018 G80 3.8L HTRAC steering is sticking. When I turn the steering wheel slight right, like through a 25mph curve, the wheel will stay in that position until, I pull it back to straight.
Genesis installed dated technology (3G modules) for their connected services knowing 3G was being discontinued within 4 years of installing the technology. On December 31, 2022, Genesis will cease providing connected services to this car and model years 2017-2019. Genesis Connected services provides critical emergency services such as crash detection as well as numerous safety features, vehicle diagnostics, warnings, and navigation. All of these will no longer be available and Genesis has offered no plan to fix the issue. The G80 also has a stability issue when driving without the lane keeping assist feature engaged. The car struggles to stay in a constant direction, essentially pulling from side to side. The driver is forced to constantly make corrections while driving. Essentially, the
1-the steering wheel airbag failed to deploy during a collisiom while all other airbags `airbags including rear seat airbags -did deploy. This suggest a possible malfunction in the airbag control module steering wheel airbag unit or sensor system. **yes the vechcle is available for inspection by Genesis, NHTSA, or any authorized party. 2. As the driver I was at direct risk the steering wheel airbag is designed to protect the head and chest in a frontal collision. Its failure to deploy left me vulnerable to impact with the steering wheel and dashboard. The lack of deployment has worsed the outcome 3. Not yet I am seeking a diagnostic scan from Genesis - certified dealer to confirm the failure and identify any fault codes in the airbag system. 4. The vehicle is being assigned to an a
Lane keep assist (lka) malfunctioning infrequently. Car fighting my control and forcing me out of lane. Have to fight to stay in lane. Even after disengaging lka option car still fighting my control. Have pull off onto side of highway; turn car off; exit vehicle in heavy traffic. Reenter car and restart engine to disengage lka. Have to never reenage lka to avoid danger.
When taking long curves, the steering wheel binds in the direction of the turn, causing oversteer. Requires driver to make an exaggerated movement to return to property steering. When this occurs the steering wheel will not return to center without driver intention. This occurs whether the lane assist is on or off. It also does not seem to be temperature driven, as it happens in the heat and cold. Vehicle is out of warranty. Took to local mechanic and although was able to replicate, was not able to provide an explanation without the expense of completely tearing down steering components. I noticed it first starting to occur after I purchased it used in October 2022. It still occurs multiple times a day.

There are so many complaints regarding these tires. I developed a bubble in the right front tire and decided I didn't want to go through more bubbles and flat tires as I am 80 years old. I bit the bullet and purchased $1000.00 worth of michelin tires before the car had 2000 miles on it. I also had trouble keeping the car in a straight line driving on the interstate. The road noise from this tire is also unexceptible for a luxury car. There are many complaints about this tire rack website and this tire should really be recalled.
The contact owns a 2018 Genesis G80. The contact stated the rear driver’s side door failed to lock or unlock. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the rear driver’s side door latch to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 66,590.
During cold days, when I have the heat running, it flows fine when set to upper body and windows. When the heat is set to feet exclusively, it flows to the front window vents more than to the feet. Setting the fan to maximum, the heat blows out of the front window vents more than to the feet. I took the vehicle to Genesis of chantilly virginia. They compared the air flow with a similar vehicle and they realized it is was blowing the same way. They agreed with me that it is a bad design and nothing they could do. When driving in cold weather, driver cannot set the heat exclusively to feet at maximum speed, since the heat flows to the window vents instead to the feet. This causes severe headache and dryness to the face. The feet remain extremely cold while driving.
The driver side, back passenger door will not open. The automatic locks and handles do not release the door. This is not related to any accident. The issue developed suddenly and poses a huge issue for exit from the car during an emergency. The issue is reported on the internet by multiple Genesis and Hyundai owners and appears to be a known issue with no action taken to resolve by Genesis/Hyundai. There were no warnings or lights indicating a problem. The Genesis call number says they are not aware of the issue. The car has low mileage (<40,000).
Whenever I make a prolonged right hand turn the steering wheel sticks in that position until it is MANUALLY returned to center. For example, taking an on-ramp than is a large ‘U’, the vehicle steering wheel ‘sticks’ in the turned position to the right. I can take my hand off the wheel and it stays there until it is forcibly turned back to center. This has been going on since I owned the vehicle, but it has never been unrecoverable. It’s happened every time I take the same on-ramp…every time.

There are two safety recalls, one for the starter and one for the turbo oil supply line, both have potential for a fire concern and the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for my vehicle in a timely manner.
For over one year we have been in contact with Round Rock Genesis in Round Rock, Texas about recalls # 254 & 018G (NHTSA Recall # 24V107000). Our Genesis G80 is now 6 years old. Failure to address this repair poses a risk of the car bursting into flames with no warning; Genesis advises parking the car outside. These recalls have not been performed because the dealership claims that they cannot get the needed parts. Recalls # 201 and 006G are meant to address the anti-lock braking system. Failure to address these recalls poses a risk of brake failure and fire. Because the service department of Round Rock Genesis have failed to ever call us back despite many messages left for them, we are not sure if this is still a current recall on this vehicle.
A/C does not work as blower will not put out cold air. During hot days in Florida with children and elderly in the car this poses a risk to our health. This happens when A/C has been on for approximately one hour. No warning messages whatsoever. This has been reported by many Genesis G80 owners who own a G80 from the years 2017 - 2020. Genesis Corporate is aware of the problem but has not submitted a recall.

275.35r19 96w Continental Procontact TX Between 12-15k miles I had my two front tires form sidewall bubbles. The first bubble resulted in a blowout. Now at about 24k miles I'm told by the dealer the tread on my rear tires is almost gone. One rear tire, also, loses air monthly. I drive mostly locally and my longest trips are not greater than 70miles. I park in my driveway rarely where anything can hit the sidewall. For four tires to fail at this mileage indicates to me there is a serious flaw with the manufacturing.

Continental tires are cheap and prone to blowouts and sidewall bubbles. I got one bubble and dealer said it is a known problem with these tires.
