THE CHROME TRIM PIECE AROUND THE SHIFTER OF MY 2018 VW EGOLF IS VERY SHARP. IT ORIGINALLY CUT MY DAUGHTER BUT WE COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IN THE CAR HAD DONE SO. THEN IT HAPPENED TO ME AS I WAS REACHING FOR MY PHONE IN THE "CUBBY" NEXT TO THE TRIM.

The recall began December 28, 2018. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298 or Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's numbers for this recall are 72H8 (VW) and 72H9(Audi).

How do I check if my Volkswagen e-Golf has open recalls?

Paste your VIN into the decoder at the top of this page. We pull live from NHTSA, so you'll see exactly which campaigns apply to your vehicle and whether the dealer has logged the fix. Recall repairs are always free regardless of mileage or warranty status.

Is an extended warranty worth it on a 2018 Volkswagen e-Golf?

Math is straightforward: a quality service contract runs $1,800–3,500 over 3 years. With 1 complaints on file, one major failure more than pays for it. The catch is reading the contract — many providers exclude wear items and require pre-authorization, so cheaper plans aren't always better value.
