2019 Ford F-250 owner complaints

Driving 70 MPH on interstate i40, on a straight section of road, I crossed a bridge when the steering wheel began to violently rotate side to side shaking the truck (death wobble). The steering wheel bruised my right hand and stretched my elbow ligaments. Luckily the two tractor trailers beside me and the one behind me saw my 4 way lights and backed off. Showing down to 45 MPH ended this issue. The front suspension it's responsible for this issue.

UNKNOWN While driving at highway speed when a mild bump is hit in the road the front end starts to wobble violently first happened around 35000 miles and now is so bad the vehicle is not safe to driver at highway speed

I have started experiencing a vibration in the front end of my truck. After research and speaking with my local alignment center he informed me that this is common on the 2019 f250. He said this is part of the death wobble problem in the f250. Following the research and having right at 100k miles it's dishearting that Ford is ignoring a safety problem with this defect. It's happening at highway speeds. 55 to 75mph Ford sent me a recall on the steering stabilizer. But after inspection my mechanic says it's much deeper than that. Tie rods and other components live a shortened life. He also explained that he does this repair often for a local company because Ford will not warranty it.

Driving at 79 MPH on interstate I-10 near casa grande arizona on 12/29/2019 went over a bridge expansion joint, on newer pavement since the expressway was redone this year, the truck experienced the "death wobble". Severe wheel bouncing and steering wheel vibrations. Had to rapidly reduce speed to under 60 MPH to regain control of the truck. This the second such occurance on different roads since I bought the truck. Mileage now is 16998.

When hitting a rough patch or expansion joint on road going around 45 MPH or higher the truck starts vibrating really bad. This has happened multiple times, with the latest on 12/28/2019, 3 times on my 117 mile trip. Once so bad, that I was almost taken off of the interstate and going into the median. I have contacted the dealership and taken truck in soon to have fixed. Ford is aware of the issue as stated in tsb # 18-2268. From what I was told, Ford is only making the parts when needed and some vehicles have been waiting at the dealership for almost 2 months.

On three occasion now while driving on the highway at a high rate of speed around 75-80 MPH the vehicle started shaking and I couldn't control the steering. Felt like I was loosing control of the vehicle and was thankful there was no other vehicle next to me because I would have surely been in an accident because of the violent vibration and loss of control of the steering and the drifting of the vehicle into other lanes due to the lack of steering control. I had to slowly lower my speed. As a result, I am afraid to drive my vehicle. I took it to the dealership and they said there is nothing wrong with it. As of today the vehicle is at the dealership because of it happening again and hopefully they find and fix the problem.

When at speeds of 50 or more or when driving on a bumpy road we experience extensive steering wobble to the point that the truck is thrown into another lane.

Wheel began shaking violently while driving on highway at 70-75mph and would not cease until almost complete stop occurred on side of road. Violent shaking of vehicle without any warning or reason. Vehicle only has 50k miles. Almost caused collision with daughter in vehicle.

While driving on the highway at speeds greater than 60 my truck experienced the issue know as death wobble. After hitting an expansion joint the steering wheel will start to oscillate uncontrollably until the speed is reduced to below 40 MPH. You lose all control of the vehicle and are unable to steer. This has now happened 7 times starting around 15000 miles.

There is a severe oscillation of the steering system when hitting a bump in the road, bridge expansion joint, etc. This is knows as death wobble. The vehicle shakes violently and control is lost until there is a significant decrease in speed. Mine will do this oftentimes at 40-50mph and also at highway speeds. This is a very widespread issue. Ford has been putting "band aid" on things to get it out of warranty. Further, I know there has been a redesigned damper that was to come out last week. It was scrapped and supposed to start over with the vendor. This is per conversations with the advisor at the Ford dealer. It is not a one time occurrence.

Truck exhibited severe front end shaking while accelerating around 45mph. Approx 6180 miles on vehicle at time of event. Event occurred on paved road with some rough patches. Shaking was extremely violent and persisted, causing me to rapidly brake. Symptoms subside after dropping speed to 20mph or so. Drove a few hundred yards to shoulder. Stopped and visually inspected tires and under carriage for loose hardware. No problems observed. Drove another 15 miles to a location where I could get underneath the truck to better inspect. Further inspection didn't show anything loose or worn.

While driving at approximately 75mph with my family in the vehicle, we went over a small bump on the highway which seemingly triggered a violent shaking of the steering wheel/suspension. I was traveling in the left lane and had to make my way over to the side of the road (while the violent shaking continued). The shaking didn't stop until the vehicle came to a complete stop. transfer case is shifting from 2 wheel high to 4 wheel high while driving down the highway. it does not engage the the 4wheel drive front hubs when doing this so no indication this is happening. eventually the shift fork breaks and transfer case is then either locked in 4 wheel high without knowing or the transfer case goes to a neutral position and loss of all power. in the my incident i was driving on the interstate and transfer case went to neutral without warning. i was in the middle of 4 lanes of traffic and total loss of movement. i was able to navigate the truck to the side of the interstate safely. however had this been in the middle of rush hour traffic this would most likely been a fatality report with multiple cars involved. The vehicle was towed to nicklaus Ford (2901 hwy 44 west, inverness, fl), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The back window shattered after turning on the rear window defroster. This put back seat occupants in harm. It impaired my vision. There were no warnings to this failure. My insurance company has been notified. Independent auto repair & glass repair shops have inspected the damage. Window must be replaced.
