When I placed the vehicle in park, the dashboard alert/warning would signal "shift to park". This would continue to go off for quite some time, and it continued to get worse and take longer to shut off. Eventually the alarm would not go off I turned the car back on and off, nor if I engaged with the shifter. I could not leave my vehicle in this state, and I was unable to determine if my vehicle was truly in park, which is a huge safety concern to myself and others. This also caused the battery to drain, and could impair being able to start and run the vehicle. This problem has occured on many GMC vehicles, and there have been recalls issued for the other cars. I would like a recall issued for my VIN as well. I spent $800 fixing this issue and GMC will not cover the cost, even though thi
Put vehicle on park and message appeared saying that it's not parked I got to back up and pull forward a couple times until it recognizes that vehicle is on park then I can turn the engine off
When I shift the car into park, a message pop up in the window to shift the car in park and keeps beeping. I can’t turn the car off and will have to restart the car and pull forward a little then try again sometimes that does not work. The light indicator says the car is in park but I can’t turn the car off.

Shift to park caused by a faulty micro switch. Woukd take up to 30 min to get car in park, leading to engine shutdown failures and possibly battery drain I did replace battery before I knew this was causing this. Messages did appear saying this was an issue ,must shift to park but no indication of how to do it. I got this repaired at barkley GMC Dec 29:30
I would park my car and try to turn off car. The car would not turn off. The car continued to ding the car remained on. The safety issue is the car wouldn't turn off. After many many times shifting from park to drive it would finally park, this happened every time using the car. I discovered the same exact issue is a recall on 2017 & 2018 GMC Acadia our exact car ! Called the dealer explaining SHIFT TO PARK issue. Brought the car to Buick GMC of Mahwah they noted in fact it was SHIFT TO PARK issue. Two days later came in for the car they would not cover problem. Cost $950.00 for exact recall the 2 years prior. Also, contacted GMC corp. they were no help just said had no recall. Our car is 2019 Acadia with 27,236 miles.
While driving the all the the service lights came on on the dashboard and the system as well as the stabilitrak notification. The car begin to not want accelerate and I had to put on the hazard lights on a drive very slow home. Upon arrival home the car would not start but would not power off either and the a "Shift to Park" warning message is displayed.

I randomly get a "shift to park" warning even though the vehicle is in park. It looks like there has been this same issue with older years but not my vehicle according to the VIN.
There are 2 issues im experiencing. The first is the vehicle won't allow me to shut down the engine because it doesnt recognize that its been shifted into "park". Ive already paid close to 800.00 to.have this repaired because my model year is not covered in the recall. Today, it started doing it again. The safety issue is that either I, my wife, or my teenage daughter (depending on who is with the vehicle). Can be left stranded, unless we pop the hood and disconnect the battery. The second issue is that the tire pressure monitor is no longer working. It is sending warnings that our tire pressure is low. When its not. The safety issue is needing to pull to the side of the road to check the tire pressure and also not knowing when the vehicle may actually have a low tire.

My Temp control sensor is causing my check engine light to come on. After reviewing the problem, It seems many owners have had this same problem nation wide. I,m simply adding to the complaints by other owners that this should be a recall problem since so many owners are having this same problem. I,ve only had this car for 2 weeks & like the vehicle very much but this is a per the mechanic that may be caused by the sensor being placed too close to the exhaust without better protection from the heat. Please take this into consideration & hopefully come up with an adequate protective cover
Won't shift into park alert came on. Vehicle wouldn't shift into park. Danger of vehicle roll off? Took to GM dealer who replaced GM part 13545094 transmission controller aka shifter assembly. It is believed this defect was detected and recalled on 2018 GMC Acadia models. My 2019 was made in 2018. In service date 10/04/18.
Shift to Park car would not turn off. Had to start car, then go forward and reverse several time so the vehicle would finally recognize it was in park. - this has been going on for almost one year on and off. “Steering Assist is Reduced Drive with Care” making it hard to steer. The get Service “Stabilitrak”, “Side Detection Temporarily Unavailable”, All Wheel Drive Off, “Battery Saver Activated”, Services “Battery Charging System.” All lights went out and the car went dark! I was unable to drive the car, had to be towed. - this has happens twice. The first time was on October 2023, the mechanic put in a new alternator, thinking this was the problem. The second time happened 11/29/2023, mechanic is still trying to diagnose the problem/problems. This car has left me stranded and in fear to
Shift to Park Issue - this is a know issue/recall for the 2019 GMC acadia yet it when I enter my VIN number the recall doesn't show up as a problem. YET it took me 10 tries yesterday to try and turn my car off because each time I went to turn it off, I got the message to Shift it to Park. This has been occurring weekly since I purchased the used car in August 2025.
We bought our 2019 acadia with 4 miles on it. Just last weekend, the fuel gauge started keeping an inaccurate account of our fuel level including making the low fuel beeping to happen while driving. We pulled over, restarted the car, and we were back to half a tank. When I fueled up today, the gauge will not go all the way over to full and keeps sending the error messages/beeps. It only has 23,770 miles on it. We've never let it run out of fuel either. The dealership said there's not a recall on it so I wanted to let our problem by known!

I purchased my vehicle brand new off the truck in march of 2020 with zero miles on it. Feb 2021 in negative degree weather, the heat on my vehicle stopped working. I called my local GM dealership and they told me they needed to diagnosed the vehicle. They had kept my vehicle for two weeks trying to diagnose the vehicle. It turned out to be the thermostat. they replaced that part on my vehicle. Now Dec 2021 I again have experienced the same problem this time it was in a blizzard. Dealership told me it cant be the same problem, however it will be another two weeks before they can get my vehicle in for service and do not have a loaner vehicles for use. I purchased a new vehicle with warranty as I have two small children and am currently pregnant.
