Radiator was found to be leaking. Now thermostat is sticking. This could have caused my engine to overheat and catch fire. I have had a mechanical shop replace the radiator but could not afford to replace the thermostat yet. I had been seeing warning lights and still see warnings after radiator was replaced. They said “Steering Assist Reduced” and “ESC” and the engine light came on. I went to Auto Zone Dec 9th to have them tell me what was wrong. I took to shop on Dec 13th. I have googled several complaints about Chevy blazers having this particular problems. This is apparently a widespread issue that needs to be recalled.

The thermostat failed on a trip locking in 0 temperature reading and steering assist warning. Licensed mechanic repaired on 10/9/25 invoice is available. 67,509 miles. This could risk overheating and destroying the engine and might cause accident. Two other friends have had similar issues, appears to be a safety defect!

Thermostat/thermostat sensor and complete water outlet system replacement at only 52,377 miles. The defective part was located under the Intake Manifold requiring its removal, excessive labor cost for the repair, and potential future engine issues due to exposed/open head gasket for the repair.

Steering assist warning and engine check light are on. I had an scan done and was told it was the thermostat and coolant temperature sensor which seems to be a common problem. There are no safety concerns to my knowledge. I feel this problem needs to be addressed as repairs are very costly.

The car repeatedly has an error pop up that states steering assist is no longer activated and to drive with caution. The thermostat during this is also fully on cold. The check engine comes on after. The sensor and thermostat are repaired based on the code and problem persists. Same problem all over forums but Chevy refuses to fix as no recall. This is very concerning as the car may randomly go into limp mode while driving on the highway at 70mph putting at risk for crashing. The steering assist is also out putting at further risk. This is despite fixing and clearing the codes shown. This is a known issue that Chevy is refusing to address/recall.

The 2020 blazer is having the same coolant temperature problem the 2021 blazer has and the recall needs to be expanded. Thermostat messed up, constantly losing coolant, check engine light, steering reduced

I pulled in my driveway which is on a slight incline. I turned the vehicle off but the transmission was still in drive. Not realizing this I stepped out of the vehicle and the vehicle started rolling back down my driveway across the sidewalk and into the street. Had there been anyone walking on the sidewalk the vehicle would have hit them or there could have been an accident in the street. I called the dealership where I got the car and And all they could offer was that you’re not supposed to turn off the car in drive. I know you’re not supposed to turn the vehicle off in drive but it happens and has happened several times to me and I’m sure to others also. I think this is a major design flaw as I have seen that on Ford vehicles when you turn the vehicle off in drive the transmission a

Steering assist reduced message followed by check engine light came on and temperature gauge not moving from cold. Immediately took it to the dealership Hiley Chevrolet in Rockwall, TX. After $250 for diagnostic, failed thermostat is the cause and $1216 repair cost. Known issue that Chevrolet issued special coverage for 2021 Blazers, but none for 2020. My vehicle has a little more than 51,970 miles. Same vehicle just had battery replaced two weeks ago at same dealership and no other issues showed up during diagnostic then.

There seems to be a constant problem with the service driver assist error code popping up and check engine light coming on. The ac heating keeps losing temperature. I've looked for support for this issue and it seems to be a common problem for chevy owners. Why isn't there a recall on this.

Where do I start. Spring of 2024 I believe, less than 55,000 miles, my transmission went out. No warning. I just went out to my vehicle to go to work and when I put it into reverse, my vehicle make a awful noise, jerked forward almost going into my garage door, then wouldn't move.. I put it back in park, tried to put into reverse again and it wouldn't go. It was stuck in park. Had to get it towed to the dealership where they advised me the transmission went out. It was covered under the drivetrain warranty, but the GM warranty doesn't cover rental. It took almost 4 weeks for GM to approve for a new transmission due to parts being on back order to rebuild my transmission. Several months later, I was driving down the road when the ESC light and then it said "shift to neutral & press start"

When I parked and tried to turn off car it would continue to run. I had to put it in park and drive back to park several times before car would turn off. There’s a recall for this issue on other blazers and I feel 2020 blazers should be included. The dealer replaced the shifter assembly, cleared OTC

We have experienced 2 issues that are very well known issues, I will list them here. First, is the Shift to Park issue, that involves an electrical switch and wiring harness on the shifter assembly. Second, is regarding a "driver assist reduced drive with care" alert message that includes Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0128, but is actually related to either the engine cooling sensor or the cooling thermostat housing assembly. Both issues are very well known, and many owners have had these issues.

New 2020 Chevy Blazer AWD Premier with OEM Continental CrossContact LX Sport tires in size 265/45R21. Car has 18,000 miles on it and tires have been rotated and inflated correctly. All 4 tires have tread depth near 2/32 and need to be replaced per tire shop. Come to find out this Continental brand of tires has no treadlife warranty at all so they don't even believe in their product. How can Chevy and Continental be allowed to put this tire on new cars to rip off the consumer. I'm going to have to buy 4 new tires on a car that has 18,000 miles on it. This should not be happening. It's also a safety concern for others on the road that aren't aware they need to check their tire tread depth so soon with these tires.

When putting the vehicle into park, we are receiving a “Shift to Park” error. This issue appears to be common among thousands of General Motors vehicles. However, the dealership is unable to assist us because the repair bulletin only applies to the 2019 model year and does not include the 2020 model year. Despite this, the issue we are experiencing is identical to the one reported for the 2019 model.
