Over the summer, vehicle lit up all warning lights. Like many others was informed the system needed deep carbon cleaning. There is a tsb for this problem but Honda corporate said it is regular maintenance and warranty does not cover. I have owned the car since January. If other years are covered, why not the 20?

While driving multiple error lights came on. I took my car in and they said it was carbon build up due to "bad gas." They cleaned it and it has been working fine. However, this is an acknowledged problem with the 2018 and 2019 Honda Fit. Honda actually extended the warranty for those years to cover those repairs. My car only had 22156 miles on it. On June 10th 2026, my 2020 Honda Fit EX-L with approximately 20,000 miles began misfiring while idle at a light. Error codes started appearing on my dash, no check engine light. Honda of Short Pump diagnosed a cylinder 2 misfire (DTC P0302) caused by a carbon buildup on the intake valves and quoted ~$1200 for valve cleaning. Vehicle had entire dash warning lights appear suddenly and had noticed a week prior a vibration/clicking when driving at higher speeds over 50mph. Took to dealer and was told vehicle has had misfires and fuel system was badly dirty and needed an immediate cleaning. Why are the 2020 Fit’s not included in the extended warrant on this as the 2018-2019’s are?
