2020 Nissan Rogue owner complaints

Malfunction light appears. Car slows and full pressure on gas pedal causes car to "bulk" (increase then decrease in speed with jerking feeling). Eventually check engine light appears. Have taken to dealership, but because no lights appeared while there they could not find any problem. Told to bring to them when light is on , however this happens most often when they are not open. Now (12/26/25) being told they are booked out for 3 weeks before they can even check it and if no warning lights on, they can not diagnose problems. This problem is intermittent and started more than one year ago with at least 4 trips to dealership.1

I have a 2020 Nissan rogue and I was driving down an empty rogue and the automatic breaking system light kept coming on. This is very dangerous and if it automatic break when I am in the highway. I noticed more than 800 complaints have already been submitted for this issue, but Nissan is not doing anything about it. They need to do a recall before someone gets hurt or killed.

On a clear sunny day, while driving around 40 mph with no traffic in front or behind me my Automatic Emergency Braking activated for a instant and then released. If I had been in traffic such as driving through Dallas at 70 mph or more, I might have been rear ended. It scared me. I can imagine what a car behind me would have done with the car in front hitting their break for no reason. There was no warning.

The power assisted rear hatch on my Nissan Rogue on occasion will open to the fullest height then suddenly close again with out any warning. When the hatch comes down, there is no electrical power to re-operate this hatch and is very heavy, dead weight and traps you under the hatch, or smack me in the head depending on my body location at time of closing.. It is hard for me as an adult to re-open the powerless hatch, but it is very troublesome to think about what would happen to a small child if trapped under the hatch. I bought this car used and returned to the dealer on 06/26/23 to report this problem and to have it repaired. Needlessly, the problem still exist. AEB light flashes on and off at random driving times. sent in for inspection no code generated but have videos of each one. Safety feature that is no longer a safety feature, but a hazard to self and others while driving. when ur car stops would be my #1 one indicator especially on the freeway and at random times= accident, the possible death of self and others! no, the dealer cant no regenerate the code. no other inspection except the local dealer. 2020 Nissan Roogue S. The doors lock randomly when in vehicle or away from vehicle without using the key fob.

Started the car and then the engine caught fire. Front of the car is completely charred and fire had to be put out by the fire department. Car is totaled now. This complaint has been raised with Nissan Consumer Affairs.

Breaks slammed on without warning with nothing in front of vehicle. There where no vehicles within a mile ahead. There where 4 people in the vehicle and the seat belts did not lock up and passengers where slammed into the dash. The breaks have locked up twice now.

The seat belt connection is located so far down in the seat cushion that it is almost impossible to fasten, and it is especially difficult if you are trying to fasten in a child seat. The design is a safety problem. The seat belts I am referring to are on the back seat.

Driving down ohio pike after a short stop, car felt like it was driving in a low gear or not shifting and the manual option was not engaged.
