2022 Acura MDX owner complaints

When the vehicle decelerates—either from high speed or while already moving slowly—it frequently jerks just before coming to a complete stop. This issue is especially noticeable at very low speeds or during final braking, where the vehicle may lurch forward by a few inches unless the brakes are applied firmly. Despite multiple visits to the dealership, including transmission resets and software updates, the problem persists. The dealer has not provided a resolution or adequate follow-up. This behavior poses a serious safety risk, particularly in high-traffic areas where precise stopping is critical.

Transmission Failed, Drive train spline is stripped, Safety basically vehicle would shake constanstly. It has been inspected by Acura of Berlin CT.

My 2022 Acura MDX has transmission issues that started at 99,000 miles. After inspection as to why the drive shaft is spinning freely - they pulled the transfer case off and noticed that the teeth are worn down to almost flat, which is cause ing the transmission not to send power to the real wheels. This is consistent with multiple documented transmission - PTU spline failures on 2022-2023 Acura MDXs (reference NHSTA Investigation DP26-001).

My less than 5 year old car had a leak coming from the center front of the car. Acura Service said the transfer case and transmission connection spindles were damaged and transmission seals are leaking. They recommended a replacement of both transmission and transfer case, at a cost of over $13,000, and that is after Acura Customer Service gave me a 10% discount on the repair.

Splines between transmission and transfer case stripped. AWD does not work anymore. No codes on the dash.

I was driving and my AWD sistem made a shader sound and right after that the vehicle went on two wheel drive, the clang it made cause the vehicle to swerve in the highway which could have caused an accident. Yes the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle hasn’t been inspected by the dealer or anyone yet, but the SH-AWD light came on after the sound and the vehicle stayed on front wheel drive only. If this system fail the way it fail on my vehicle at a higher speed it could have caused a fatal accident!

My vehicle has a battery issue, we replaced the battery twice in two years still the issue might happened again and again. Once the battery start draining energy, everything start blinking and car stops all of a sudden in the middle of the road because of brake assistance problem. All the system errors come up. It is very scary to drive the vehicle with my kids inside. All system in car works with battery. service center told me that this kind of cars needs bigger battery and company only put small batteries in the car. Company don’t put warranty on battery if it is replaced under car warranty. My car is only 33 months old and i have to change battery twice, It might happen again. Please help me to resolve the problem. It looks like factory problem that company do not make sufficient

As I was turning right (slowly accelerating from a complete stop) into a shopping center parking lot, I was entering into the lane behind a vehicle that had just passed in front of me (and was headed in the same direction I was going to turn). My 2022 Acura MDX Low Speed Braking Control system engaged for no reason. The breaks slammed hard bringing the car to a hard, sudden stop, and I thought I had been rear-ended by the car behind me. I pressed the gas slowly again and was able to pull into a parking spot and checked my back bumper…PERFECTLY FINE! I googled the issues I experienced and found this is a common problem! The brakes are not working warning light has flashed several times. In numerous calls and dealer visits Acura has no resolution the say it’s under investigation. There is a service bulletin from May of 2021 but I was never advised of this issue and I am very uncomfortable driving the car with a brake problem.

The roof sunshade motor has failed. It is a known issue with TSB 23-013

On November 17, 2023 while we were on a trip the vehicle's sunroof spontaneously exploded upward. There were no other vehicles around us and nothing above us. This is the second time this sunroof has exploded. The first was on February 19, 2023. Both incidents were covered by insurance except for the deductible. This could have posed a great danger to anyone immediately behind my vehicle as glass was blown back in that direction.

I put premium gas all the time but the vehicle seems to consume excess amount of fuel. Not sure if the computer is has issues with the readings or fuel pump has an issues.

Review mirror became detached , rendering it inoperable and a safety concern. Research shows it a known issue and design flaw for the bracket.

I recently (11/9/23) took my 2022 MDX (22,00 miles) to the local Acura dealer for an issue with my windshield washers not working. They diagnosed the problem as the washer jets were clogged and said the replacement parts were on back order and they were not given a time when they would arrive. I am concerned that currently my vehicle is unsafe to drive during inclement weather conditions-- i.e. slush, muddy roads, etc. Acura customer service has not been able to provide any ETA on this issue

We have replaced the front windshield twice now as it is very easy to crack on small road debris. I have other cars that do not experience this and it feels like the windshield was not designed well.

My 2022 Acura MDX A-Spec developed an electrical problem where I heard an extremely loud pop come from the stereo system before it stopped working and then the infotainment screen stopped working as well. I took it to the dealer who determined that a water leak in the sunroof drain plug caused the interior of the vehicle to become saturated with water and cause corrosion to electrical bundles. By searching the internet, I found that this was a known manufacturer’s defect with this specific model that had been made known to the dealership and they did nothing about it. Having an electrical problem could have put us at risk had things stopped working at an inopportune time on the highway or caused a malfunction at a critical time while driving. The contact owns a 2022 Acura MDX. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V064000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Purchased a tired for giga tires had the dealership , Acura of columbus attempt to mount and install the technician discovers a hole and a slice on and in the tire, contacted giga tire for an exchange they stated that the hole in the tire was caused by road hazard, the tire has never been driven on, it brand new or claimed too be

Third time with the same issue. Steering wheel vibrates loudly when retracting. Car has already had the steering column replaced once and issue is still there. Car has less than 16K miles and driven locally only.
