Rear tailgate window shattered when the vehicle was parked/not operating with nothing hitting the back glass. The only operating change over the past two weeks prior to the shattering was regular morning use of the rear defroster. Rear tailgate was never slammed
I was driving down the freeway, heard a large boom & my sunroof shattered. There was no impact. Nothing thrown. It did this on its own.

while on vacation, upon entering the parked vehicle, the rear hatch window spontaneously shattered. No local place was open (Sunday) and the wait for a new window was days out so I had to drive two hours home with a makeshift windshield made from a tarp and duct tape. This is an obvious hazard as I could not see out the back window. Replacement window to be installed in the coming days. No warnings indicated.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? My rear windshield shattered on its own. My car was parked at work, which is a secure compound that is monitored 24/7 by security guards and cameras. I filed an incident report with security and they reviewed camera footage and didn't find any suspicious activity. I later discovered the incident is a known issue with a 2019-2022 Acura RDX (see Acura's Service Bulletin 22-014 version 2). The security guards took photos of the damage and I eventually replaced the rear windshield the next morning due to safety concerns and heavy rain. Car was parked in driveway of residence. Opened the driver's door and got in. Upon closing the driver's door, the back windshield shattered/exploded. The car was not running when this happened. The window that broke was on a door that had not even been opened. (There is a video that will be forwarded). There is a know technical service bulletin (TSB 22-014) that Acura is aware however, when contact was made to Acura customer service, I was informed that yes there is a known issue, but my win number is not one of the vehicles impacted by the known issue.
We were driving our 2022 Acura RDX on the expressway when the we suddenly heard a very loud pop/explosion. A few moments later we could hear wind above our heads. We realized the sunroof had literally exploded and shattered. Neither me nor my passenger saw any road debris whatsoever and believe this simply happened without any warning or cause.
Vehicle has lost power and gone in to ‘limp mode’ numerous times when accelerating, reducing speed to 25-30 MPH. The engine runs extremely rough during this time and will not rev up. This has caused traffic behind me to slow down immediately to the point I’ve come close to being hit from behind. It has also lost power without warning several times when driving at approximately 45 MPH, reducing speed to 30 MPH instantly, after which the engine check light illuminates, causing traffic behind me to slow down until I have a place to pull off the side of the road. The first incident was 10/20/2022 at 1,828 miles. I brought the vehicle to an Acura dealership to have it checked out and the service department couldn’t find the problem. I woke up Sunday morning to find the rear window on my 2022 Acura RDX to be shattered. Nothing impacted the window to cause it to be shattered. My understanding is this is a known problem with this vehicle.

The contact owns a 2022 Acura RDX. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH, a deer unexpectedly crashed into the middle of the front end of the vehicle. The contact stated that after the impact, the front driver's side knee bolster air bag gradually deployed and exploded, causing a 5-inch opened wound on the contact's right leg. The contact stated that her leg was bleeding significantly. The vehicle was called emergency services. The ambulance lifted the contact out of the vehicle and transported the contact to the hospital, where the contact was informed that she had sustained a traumatic wound to the leg. Automatic braking system came on when the vehicle sensed another vehicle. As the breaking system turned on, the steering wheel locked and did not allow for the driver to steer in order to not avoid a collision. This happened in the streets. It is currently under investigation with insurance. The vehicle had applied the emergency breaks system a few days before, in the highway, while the driver already had the foot on the break and the steering wheel had locked, preventing the driver to change lanes. No collision on this day.
Respected Sir/Madam, I am filing this complaint about a road incident that occurred on [XXX] near [XXX] that resulted in a total car loss for me, [XXX] , wife of [XXX] (jointly insured through GEICO Auto Insurance ). I am a responsible driver with no history of at-fault collisions, and I suffered severe mental pressure and miraculously survived a near-death experience due to this incident, which involved no other vehicle (not an actual crash). Two airbags were deployed, and I escaped with small injuries thanks to the grace of almighty god. I am attaching a copy of the police report of the incident. The contact owns a 2022 Acura RDX. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated to 30 MPH and failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact exited the highway and parked in a nearby parking lot for approximately 10 minutes. The contact was able to continue driving to her destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. 5 different occasions where the car enabled the emergency braking system for collision when there were no possibility of collision. This has occurred twice on the freeway, where all of a sudden, the vehicle slams down on the break, coming to a screeching halt. No vehicle or other object in front, side or back of vehicle that should cause this. The other instances happened on city roads and similar to the freeway instances. Hard braking for no reason, jolting me and passengers forward and causing vehicles behind me to not understand why we stopped randly and took so long to get going forward again as the emergency system doesn’t have a quick override.

While driving through an active intersection, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of electrical power. The engine shut off without warning and all electrical systems immediately went dead. The instrument cluster went dark, the ignition was unresponsive, and the hazard lights did not function. The vehicle lost propulsion while in traffic and could not be restarted. Police were required to block traffic to prevent a collision. Emergency responders attempted to jump start the vehicle, but the jump start had no effect. The vehicle showed no signs of electrical power at all. After approximately 15 minutes, while awaiting a tow truck, electrical power returned spontaneously without any repairs or external intervention, and the vehicle was able to start normally.
