When shutting the vehicle off, I repeatedly get a “shift to park” error message. The truck will not shut down fully until this message goes away and can drain the battery. I have read this is a common Chevy problem in other models and others who I have talked to have the same issue. The local dealer wanted $170 just to scan it even though I feel they know the issue. The problem started right after the warrant expired and GM sent through a “software push notification” with no explanation what it was for. This feels too coincidental for me and GMs response was to take it to the dealer, not covered by warranty.

Issue: Tailgate unlatches unexpectedly Erratic behavior consistent with electronic release switch malfunction I am reporting a safety concern involving the tailgate on my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD. The tailgate exhibits erratic behavior and has unlatched unexpectedly without user input. I can support this claim with documented video evidence I took while the vehicle was parked. This condition is consistent with the defect described in General Motors safety recall N232426400, which involves water intrusion into the tailgate exterior electronic release switch, potentially causing a short circuit and unintended tailgate opening. Although my vehicle is not included in the recall population based on VIN, it is the same model year, platform, and equipped with the same power-unlatching

My 2022 Chevy Silverado has been to 4 different GMC/Chevrolet Dealerships since August 2024 and is currently broken down in Indiana at Sauers Buick GMC Although, it has been to 4 different dealerships to confirm there is a Faulty Part of the Transmission, Part # 24048701 A Body Control Valve, i have been on the waiting List since August 2024 for this part at 4 different dealers ships Some days it drives fine, and others it will flash a message that it is in Reduced Power Mode and it will not shift properly at this point There is no parts available, so i have continued to drive my truck since i am making payments on it. It Broke down and would not shift into Gear on October 31, 2024 in Indiana. At that point It flashed an error message that the Transmission was Hot. I called for a tow

I recieved a recall notice for this vehicle. When I went to my local dealership {Michael Hohl GMC Carson City Nevada} I was told that I would be better off to wait until my transmission fails because the repair parts are almost non existant. I am now reluctant to drive my $90,000 truck because of an inevitable rear wheel lockup situation.

The braking system is very weak given the towing and load rating on the truck. Emergency stopping is at times questionable. It seems there is almost no braking from the front axle of the truck. In 80000 miles the front brakes are still over 75% pad left with the rear brakes now being on the second set. I have had the dealership Chevrolet of Canton look into this and they tell me that is how this trick is designed to work. This is the first truck I have ever owned that used the rear brakes more 4 times faster than the front brakes. This is an issue that GM needs to look into.

07/22/2025 ODI #11675338.0

The brakes really seem to be lacking stopping power unloaded and especially while towing a 30' gooseneck loaded. I even have the brake controller set to 10 and it really takes awhile to stop. I have to deliberately leave even more room in front of me to make sure I can stop.

Rear window leaks severely causing electrical issues. This is a known issue for almost 10 years now with multiple TSB’s about this problem across this vehicle platform. The repair for this is over $1000 often times. This should be a recall. We the consumers should not be stuck footing this bill when GM is well aware that this window causes issues and refuses to make a fix to keep this from happening. Especially, seeing that it typically does not seem to happen during the warranty period of the vehicle. My vehicle is less than 3 years old but now over the mileage cutoff and I was just quoted 1000-1500 to repair this very well know issue. GM needs to be liable for this faulty design.

ATC LED Trailer running lights drop out after 2 or so hours of operation. The Trailer is being towed by a 2022 Silverado High Country 3500. I have had the Silverado into Serra Whelan Chevrolet to check the trucks trailer lighting system, said they thought it was the trailer, on 5/10/22. Talked with the service person there and he recommended I purchase a Curt resistance jumper plug part number 57003 because this is an issue with the truck not being able to see the low current drawing LED running lights. I bought the Curt part number 57003 and installed it between the truck and trailer plug. The running lights now drop our after about two hours of operation. I contacted Chevrolet customer service and started an issue # 9-10551955094 on 08/24/2023. Am going to try having Serra Whelan Chevrol

I was driving on freeway in rain, rear end of truck kicked out sideways due to hydroplane, I hit the cement median in the front of truck, spun around and the back end also hit median. I have $25,000 in damage and the frame is bent in 3 locations, however airbags didn't deploy. 1) Airbags didn't deploy, and yes available for inspection. 2) I think airbags should have gone off, all 4 of us hit our heads on something. 3) No, I mentioned it to them, but nothing has been done. 4) No inspection has been completed. 5) No, there were no warning lights or messages prior to the failure.

Pulled in drive way and tailgate open light came on and noises was coming from rear or truck. I have a bed cover so I could not see tailgate but it was beeping, going up and down on it own. I finally pulled the fuse to get it stopped. Seen the recall and though all would be good BUT NO they say my truck is not on recall list evan though its doing the exact thing recall is for.

steering 1 complaint shown

05/07/2026 ODI #11736291.0

My steering feels loose and truck doesn't sways and wanders. It wasn't that way when I got it and I only put like 20000 miles on it. It shouldn't be having these issues. Other models 23-24 have a recall for this same issue.
