After changing from stock summer tires to all season tires; the Blind Spot Monitoring system malfunctioned and no longer works. There is no dealer fix for this problem.

12/15/2022 ODI #11497583.0

The blindspot monitor system in the Hyundai Veloster N does not function as well as other Hyundai vehicles do. While driving, the blindspot monitor will randomly go off even if there is no car in my blindspot and it will sometimes not go off when there is a car driving in my blindspot. I took the car to the dealership to fix the issue and after waiting for weeks to get my car back, my local Hyundai dealership was unable to fix it and I was told there would be a recall for it eventually. Many other cars, including Hyundai vehicles, have perfectly working blindspot monitors. The Veloster N does not have the best visibility and I rely on them to help avoid crashing into the car next to me when I am changing lanes.

Right side BSD permanently turned on. Cannot signal right without it going off. Consistent false positive on right side BSD

After replacing the OEM summer tires to Continental DWS, the Blind spot detection system is malfunctioning always saying there is a car in my blind spot when there is no car there. Same tire size as OEM was put on my OEM Rims. My car has less then 1000 miles right now, brand new bought it with 11 miles and was working fine. Nothing has been changed other then tires. Hasn't been in an accident, Windshield is spotless. Nothing has hit my rear bumper. I don't know why and niether do dealerships why my BSD is triggering falsely with just a tire change. Please Help.

Blind spot monitoring system gives multiple false warnings on both passenger and driver side after replacing wheels and tires from OEM spec. Issue is only resolved when OEM tires and wheels are placed on the car. OEM tires had to be replaced as I live in a colder environment where the P zero's will start to crack.

11/02/2021 ODI #11439040.0

The car ships with "summer" tires that cannot be used when it is cold. I replaced the tires with GOODYEAR EAGLE EXHILARATE 235 /35 R19 91Y XL VSB. After the change the Blind Spot Warning sensors continuously false trigger (both driver and passenger side). I contacted the dealer but they did not know how to resolve.

After changing to tires (michelin pilot sport all season) that can handle lower temperatures than the Pirelli PZero, the BSM system is now giving false alerts, and is unreliable.

The blind spot detector is malfunctioning. The light is on even when there is no car present. I've talked with several other who have the same make/model car and they're all having the same issues.

3 separate injectors have misfired, causing very low power to the acceleration of the vehicle, and creating a safety hazard to drive. There is a misfire engine light. The dealership has inspected these injectors and determined that the OEM parts are prone to misfire. This is a very common issue among, they point out, model year '22 Hyundai cars.

The issue involved the electronic power steering (EPS) system on my 2022 Hyundai Veloster N (approx. 70,000 miles). While driving, the EPS stopped providing steering assist and a fault warning appeared on the dash. After checking the engine bay fuse box, I found that the PDM 7.5A micro blade fuse (which powers the EPS circuit) appeared heat-discolored/burned. I replaced it with an identical 7.5A micro blade fuse, and the system later returned to normal operation. The original fuse that appeared damaged is still in my possession and is available for inspection upon request When the fuse failed, I suddenly lost power steering assist and the steering became extremely heavy, especially at low speeds. This made it difficult to turn the wheel for parking, lane changes, and tighter turns. Th

While driving, I would randomly get an alert saying “check lane departure assist system” along with my power steering going completely out. If I restart the car, sometimes it fixes the issue until it happens again randomly. Sometimes it wont happen for a week, sometimes it happens multiple times a day. I can’t narrow it down to anything since it happens so randomly.

10/28/2025 ODI #11696028.0

While driving my 2022 Hyundai Veloster N (around 44,000 miles), the steering system suddenly failed without warning. All lane departure and steering warning lights came on, and the steering wheel locked hard to the left, causing the car to veer into oncoming traffic. I narrowly avoided a collision and was able to regain control, but it was extremely dangerous. The vehicle was later diagnosed by the dealership as needing an entire new steering rack. This is the second time this same issue has happened after it was supposedly repaired, and I no longer feel safe driving this car.

Vehicle stated “check lane keep system”, and proceeded to lock the steering wheel whilst I was doing 65-70 mph on Interstate-5’s Grapevine section. I immediately had to apply brakes, turn on my hazard lights, and then nurse the car to the exit.

10/10/2025 ODI #11692608.0

Power steering and lane keep assist died while driving. After leaving the car off for a few minutes, powering it back up they worked again for about 5 minutes before cutting off while driving on the highway

While driving on the highway, the dashboard illuminated with power steering & lane departure warnings. Upon this happening, the power steering did fail, and would not come back on regardless of the driving mode (2022 Hyundai Veloster N). Because of my high speed, I was able to navigate to an off ramp and pull off the road without incident. At slow speed, I was barely able to turn the steering wheel at all. Upon turning the car on and off, the issue would prove to be inconsistent. I was able to slowly and carefully get it to a parking lot, where it will remain, as it is not safe to drive. I tried contacting the only two Hyundai dealerships within 50 miles and could not get in touch with the service center (voicemails were left).

This problem has happened sporadically since the first instance described below. I was driving in the left lane at 65mph on the highway during a bend in the road. The steering when extremely stiff, which is extremely alarming on the highway. The car chimed and produced the messages, "check power steering" and "check lane departure warning system". From that point until I was able to stop somewhere safely, the vehicle had no power steering. Turning the car off and on is a short term remedy about half of the time, and the problem returns either immediately, or days later.

08/15/2026 ODI #11757159.0

On August 15, 2026, while driving my 2022 Hyundai Veloster N, the electric power steering assist intermittently became noticeably heavier than normal. The vehicle’s steering remained mechanically controllable, but the increased steering effort was noticeable and raised a safety concern because the loss or reduction of steering assist occurred while the vehicle was being driven. I scanned the vehicle and found diagnostic trouble code C129002 in the EPS/MDPS system, described as a torque sensor signal fault. I also found DTC C168886 in the LKAS system. Both codes were reported as open at approximately 80,252 miles. After turning the vehicle off and restarting it, normal steering assist returned. The problem has since been intermittent, with the steering currently feeling normal, but the di

Vehicle stalled after misfire in cylinder 4. No signs of problems prior to failure of injector number 4 at 14000 miles. Upon investigating prior history of vehicle owner, customer reported misfire on cylinder 2, and 4 at 3 thousand miles. Technician replaced injector 2 only. Months after, my vehicle stalled due to misfire in cylinder 1, which was corrected by restarting car. Injector number one was replaced. at the moment with only 24000 miles on vehicle, 3 out of 4 injectors have prematurely failed. After doing hpfp recall update on ECM, Dual clutch transmission was rough shifting from first to second at random intervals. This shift sounded very metallic and un-lubricated. Eventually, the banging sound went away after happening for 3 months. Vehicle does not run the same after update on

DCT transmission failed to shift out of first gear, engine over rev light came on (white, yellow, RED - 7000 RPM!). Got it off the road. Car did it 3 times on the 50 mile trip. Had it towed to dealer, Thomas Hyundai in Cumberland, Md. They said they couldn't duplicate it, car is not showing any codes and they would not do any work on it without a TSB from Hyundai. This is dangerous. It drove ok for a week or two then on Thursday August 25 it did it again. Somebody is going to get hurt with this thing. Date below is most recent incident. Veloster forum has several people with same occurrence. Hyundai Customer Service told me that "if it was at the dealership now, unless diagnostics showed a problem, they could not work on it". I did tell them that this car is dangerous.
