The passenger door opened on its while the car was coming to a stop. Then a few other occasions same issue. The vehicle had the recall completed and the issues still persist with the car. I did record on a separate incident when the wheel was engaged in reverse where the door opens couple times by itself.

On two separate occasions the VW ID4 screens have gone blank (main display and heads up display). While the car continued to steer, we lost all indication of speed, navigation, heating, and air conditioning. The pictures we have (unable to attach via this webpage), proves the display does not come back up during driving. Further, holding down the on-off power switch by the steering column or the on-off switch in the main display greater than 10 secs when the car was parked did not reboot or perform a soft reset of the display system.

UNKNOWN - My ID4 stalled with ALL errors appearing today (2nd time in 2 days). I was rolling to a stop at a light, around 10mph. The car errored out suddenly and I was stuck. The car could not move for 1-2 minutes. I had to attempt to turn on/off multiple times, put it into park then drive and park and drive until it would start moving again. I was lucky this happen at a stop light otherwise I would have been rear ended on the freeway, which cause extreme harm. The dealer checked the 12v and said it was fine. They do not have an appointment for another two months.

My 2022 VW ID.4 Pro S has experienced a total failure of the GPS and telematics system (J949 module), causing a dangerous 'GPS Drift' where the vehicle reports its location miles away from its actual position. This creates two severe safety hazards: Automated System Malfunction: The Travel Assist and Dynamic Road Sign systems are receiving conflicting data. The camera correctly identifies a speed limit (e.g., 40 mph), but the faulty GPS overrides it with incorrect map data (e.g., 25 mph). This causes the vehicle to unexpectedly and dangerously decelerate while in active traffic. Emergency Service Failure: The eCall (Emergency Call) system is reporting the wrong location. In the event of a serious crash, emergency responders would be directed to a location miles away from the actual acci

Electrical gremlins present at time of purchase (3/14/2025). Entered service and repair on 3/17/2025 and remained for 30-45 days. Upon coming to retrieve vehicle electrical malfunctions still present upon entering vehicle in the service bay, alerted advisor. Car was checked back into service immediately and remained for 60-90 days. Between March and December I have had continuous electrical gremlins present from Dashboard and display malfunction, interior lights malfunction, trunk/doors/locks/windows malfunction to no end and no repair in sight. This specific vehicle is a lemon and riddled with irreparable electrical gremlins, it has cost me significant income loss and loss of faith in the reliability of Volkswagen brand that I love so much.

Ever since I picked this car up I've noticed that it's been having constant electrical gremlins. Some days things will work some days things will not work. But the issue that I'm writing about is that earlier this week on a Monday I went to go to a local charger. When I was done charging about 10 minutes later I was pulling out of a parking lot and coasting to a stop to get on the main road. However even though I was pressing the brake pedal the car suddenly lurched forward and started accelerating. I arrested the acceleration with the brake pedal but found that it was firm and had to press even harder to get the car to come to a stop.

On [XXX], my 2022 Volkswagen I.D. 4 burst into flames and exploded while it was parked in my apartment complex parking structure ([XXX] ). My car was completely engulfed in flames, nearby cars as well as the parking structure experienced heat damage. My life and others were put in danger because even though my car was electric, it was parked in a resident garage near other cars who are gas operated, which could have caused an even more catastrophic damage if the fire would've spread more. Dallas Fire Department was present, and a fire report was conducted (Incident number #[XXX]). As of today, the vehicle has only been inspected by the Dallas Fire department, as well as a virtual video meeting with my insurance agent from Allstate. Before the incident the car charged normally, was operatin

When I was driving, I stopped at a traffic light. When the light turned green and I pressed the accelerator, many warning lights turned on and the vehicle did not go forward. After about 15 minutes, I was able to turn off the car and restart it again and move forward. At the next red light, the same problem happened again. After another 15 minutes, I was able to again turn off the car and restart it to get to a parking lot, where it had to be towed to the dealership for service. This was a safety concern because I was stuck in traffic as other cars were in motion around me during morning rush hour. I had to get out of my car to turn it off and back on from my key fob. VW diagnosed the problem as a broken motor. Since my car is electric, it does not have an engine, so the motor is i

I was pulling onto a highway from a residential street when the ID.4 suddenly lost power and just about every warning imaginable popped up on the dash. The power loss was so sudden that it almost felt like hitting a curb. I was eventually able to get the car back up to speed but it accelerated very slowly. The dash flashed several warnings, including something about the electrical system, traction control system, AWD system, auto hold not available, ABS, lane keep and travel assist not available, forward collision not available, parking assist not available, and probably others I missed as well. I was able to get it back home and after letting it sit for about five minutes I turned it back on and everything seemed to work normally.

Got in car, put foot on the brake and put it in gear. The car jumped forward and I had to press brakes with all my strength to keep it from accelerating to full “throttle”. It did the exact same when I put it in reverse. I turned the car off, got out, gave it a couple of minutes and tried two more times. It did the same thing every time. It is like the accelerator is pressed to the floor as soon as you put it in gear without you touching it. I almost hit my house due to the wheels being turned before the first try. I called a tow truck to take it to the dealer. I have only had the car for two weeks. The consumer stated that they discovered what the issue was and that they would like to cancel their complaint.

Because all aspects of the cabin comfort are controlled through a visual screen, it's extremely dangerous to drive at night, or even sometimes during heavy daytime traffic. The car drives very well, but is quick, and taking one's eyes off the road even momentarily is risky. I've had several close calls already, and I am an older woman who drives conservatively. It's a struggle to find the defroster, or to turn on the heater, and I dare not change the radio station!

Subject: Request for Investigation and Recall – Door Handle Failure on Volkswagen Vehicle Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am writing to formally request an investigation and potential recall concerning a serious safety issue with my 2022 ID.4 AWD Pro S Volkswagen vehicle. The problem involves the door handles failing to open from either the inside or outside of the vehicle. I can provide video evidence showing that, while the vehicle is fully unlocked, with no child safety mechanisms engaged and my foot on the brake at a complete stop, the doors cannot be opened from either the front or rear seats. This issue occurs repeatedly—approximately four to five times per week—and has become more frequent since the “919” recall was performed on the vehicle. Despite this,

Car has haptic button for adaptive cruise control and ? Engaged on resume button left side of steering wheel. VW says not a manufacturing defect. Fortunately no injuries - air bags did not deploy.

While exiting/entering from one highway to another, I was slowing down vehicle in curved ramp area to approximately 35mph from 65mph. The car's driver display (a warning banner) indicated that I had insufficient battery and that I should stop the vehicle. The battery was at 65%. I coasted vehicle to right shoulder of road. Steering was difficult. This area of highway access was under construction and I had a very limited space to stop car. The car then lost drive and stopped. Although I was in a narrow shoulder area, there were cars traveling behind me in ramp area. I put on hazard lights as a warning of my stopped vehicle so I would avoid getting hit. I waited 1 minute to re-start vehicle. Car re-started without faults or warning indicators and I was able to travel home.

Brand new Volkswagen electric vehicle model ID.4 Pro AWD delivered to us in July 2022 after order was placed in summer 2021 and it was built and shipped from Germany. Tires were manufactured in Poland and came installed with the vehicle. Both front tires (Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S Size 235/55R19 105T) exhibit rubber peeling where chunks of rubber fall off the tire after only about 1.25 year of driving and approximately 15,000 miles. This presents a safety concern. VW no longer installs these tires as OEM as they switched to Pirelli Scorpion Zero or Kumho Crugen starting with model year 2023. Only first two ID.4 model years of 2021 and 2022 are affected. Note there has already been a recall on Alenza Sport A/S tires but not this exact model per NHTSA Campaign number 22T021000 recalling B

My vehicle is at 30k miles and the front 2 tires are showing signs of a huge tire quality issue. They are Bridgestone Alenza tires. Looking online this appears to be a huge common problem. The outside 1/4 of the tire tread has chunks missing that are roughly 1/2"long x 1/2" wide x 1/8" deep spots. This kind of wear pattern appears to be around the whole tire circumference and on both tires.
