When I leave somewhere it will “stall” very noticeably when giving it gas, to the point it won’t accelerate and feels like it’s not getting fuel for a second or two. It typically does it once and then drives normally. This happens almost daily and has done this since the car was bought new a few months ago. I have experienced this when pulling into traffic and the car not accelerating to get me up to a safe speed. It has not been inspected by a dealer at this time but several other owners of 2022 Tiguans are reporting the same issue. No warning lights are on or come on when the vehicle does this
Car uses lots of oil between oil changes 1 1/2 quart in between suggested change intervals
Engine bucks and nearly stalls when accelerating mostly after cold start or if it’s been sitting for awhile. Will nearly stall when accelerating into an intersection even after it’s been driven for a block or two. Requires several minutes of driving before it will stop. Thought it was normal after reading all of the internet complaints, but definitely a safety situation. Wife doesn’t even like driving it due to this issue
I purchased a VW 2022 Tiguan I reported the acceleration issue to the sales person at Norm Reeves VW Englewood fl. and I was told the acceleration issue would work it self out because of low fuel and air was in the fuel line. I brought the car in for a service check with under 350 mile on the vehicle. I was told the issue can't be duplicated. and nothing was wrong with the car. The second service appointment for the same issue was approx 1100 miles later now the acceleration issue was more severe. The car now sometimes goes non responsive when making a turn left or right coasting into the turn and then you try to accelerate and the gas pedal does down and nothing happens then suddenly the turbo kicks and takes off and it's a very frightening and dangerous situation . This issue is an a
The contact owns a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds on several occasions, there was an abnormal amount of white smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. The check engine and oil warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the message "Add oil to the Engine” was displayed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the cylinder head needed to be replaced and that oil needed to be added every month due to excessive oil consumption. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
Due to a faulty PCV valve, the entire engine wiring harness needed to be replaced at 69,000 miles. The valve cover and camshafts were replaced, engine components were reassembled with mandatory bolts and gaskets. Lower timing cover was leaking on the passenger side due to the faulty PCV valve and the Caracole canister and leak detection pump. These were replaced along with the canister due to oil contamination. The EVAP lines were blown out and the N80 valve was replaced. As a result, the vehicle sustained $7,200 in repairs because of the damage to the engine due to the faulty PCV valve.

My vehicle has been consuming oil at a rate of approximately 1 quart every 1,500 miles. The VW dealership I took my vehicle into reported that VW considers this “normal”. After arguing that any vehicle that will burn its entire oil reservoir between oil changes is not normal, they agreed to perform an oil consumption test which is currently underway.
After a cold start, with the engine idling about 1100 rpm, the vehicle acceleration is spotty, lagging, hesitant, dangerous. There are no error codes that can be found and this condition is reported as normal. This condition is dangerous. If the engine is allowed to idle for 1-3 minutes until the rpm is reduced to 800-900 rpm, the vehicle accelerates as any other. The danger is that after starting the vehicle and driving, I have been in situations where, while leaving a parking lot or parking space, or my driveway, the vehicle hesitates while oncoming traffic is traveling normally and become irritated that they have to avoid a collision. Searching online, this appears to be a common issue with this family of vehicles. VW has an issue id or instance number 2072024/1 which suggests to
My wife was driving our new 2022 VW Tiguan SEL. First incident was yesterday in which there was no audio from the car (radio, phone or otherwise). Second incident today, infotainment screen was blank (black) when put into reverse and no audio. After a little bit of driving the infotainment seemed to reset. During this drive, my wife reached a red light and came to a stop. When the light turned green and my wife attempted to accelerate, the acceleration was no longer working. There were several vehicles behind her that were stopped waiting for her to move. She had to turn the vehicle off and on again before it would work. At this point the infotainment and audio started working again too. I'm reporting this just as I received the information from my wife and will also report to VW. I have n
Purchased new; problems began early in ownership and have recurred despite multiple dealer visits. At ~75,995 miles in July 2025, the vehicle developed a significant engine oil leak. Multiple inspections have found the engine oil level low due to leaks from cracks, and the dealer also verified excessive crankcase pressure from a faulty PCV system that forced oil past sealing surfaces. Parts replaced included the PCV/separator, upper timing cover, a related pipe, and the oil filler funnel; DTCs were cleared and the vehicle was returned as “operating to specifications.” Despite these repairs, the vehicle has an ongoing pattern of engine problems, including warning lights and loss of power/limp mode while driving. This creates a safety risk due to sudden power reduction and the possibility o

During stops the start/stop system has failed to re-engage. This has resulted in the driver having to shift the vehicle into park and re-start the engine while in traffic. Obviously being stalled in traffic elevates the risk of being rear-ended
ever since purchasing the car in 2021 I noticed it burns oil very quickly. Every time i would bring my car to my local body show before an oil change was do there was always no oil left. I finally brought the car back to VW and they told me it could be the shop was not using the right stuff which i knew was not true and they charged me for oil change and told me to come back if the problem continued. Sure enough 6 weeks later the oil light came on. I brought it back to VW and they told me the car has an engine oil consumption issue and they could keep the car from a week to 6 months
My overhead console has come lose. VW will not fix under extended warranty. It is a known issue and letters weren’t sent out about a fix for my year model but I did not get one.
My car uses more oil then it should and VW won’t fix it. Lawyer told me to fill out this form

Went to work, drove home, went to take my daughter to her friends and noticed my windshield on the passenger side was cracked big time. Just from sitting in my driveway.
Windshield cracked while stationary no impact. Glass is unavailable to replace due to demand as dealer states this model is having multiple failures of windshield.

Driver fell asleep and vehicle want off the road into a ditch that led to a stone wall protecting a culvert. Vehicle hit the stone wall and was launched into the air across the driveway where it came to a rest on its right side. I estimate that the vehicle left the highway at 45 mph (the cruise control setting) and hit the stone wall at approximately 25-30 mph. During this violent event all airbags deployed EXCEPT DRIVER'S AIRBAG located in the center of the steering wheel. I have a severely bruised and very painful sternum as a result. All systems were normal with no indication of a safety system fault.
