On several occasions, the car has locked the breaks, causing the car behind me to almost rear end me. The forward collision camera thinks it sees an object or another's vehicle in front when there is nothing on the road and activates the breaks for no reason. This has happened approximately 6 times while traveling anywhere between 20mph to 55mph on the freeway. I called chevy dealer and said there are no recalls or any updates that they can perform on the camera as of now. This is a huge safety issue and chevy should be issuing recalls for issue.
Rear backup camera feed fails to display on infotainment screen. The issue appeared about a month ago and persisted until I took it into the dealership. The service center updated the software, and the camera initially worked properly again, but within 2 weeks of the repair, the issue recurred and persisted. Federal safety standards require all vehicles made after May 2018 to have functioning backup cameras. I live in a neighborhood that has a lot of small children, and their safety is at risk when any vehicle’s back up camera is not working.
I was parked coming back from a store. I started the vehicle and was immobilized. That words “Conditions Not Correct for Shift” were on screen for almost 30 minutes. I could not change to neutral, reverse or drive. After shutting the vehicle off several times, I called OnStar for a tow. 20 minutes later, the message disappeared and I was able to drive again.
I have a chevrolet bolt for which I have a mychevrolet app link to control the vehicle remotely. For some reason I just noticed my mychevrolet app also is linked to a second chevy Bolt (the vehicle I am noting the VIN of in this complaint) for which I have no ownership of. This is a massive security lapse by chevrolet and they need to be investigated thoroughly as to why this occurred.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the automatic emergency braking system engaged while there were no vehicles or objects nearby. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the Super Cruise driver assistance feature disengaged unintendedly. The contact stated that upon attempting to reengage the feature, a message advising that the road lane could not be found or that the contact's face could not be read was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was operating as designed. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 50-60 MPH on the left lane, the Super Cruise driver assistance feature disengaged unintendedly, causing the
Incident #23E065 Has a recall on the CHARGER and NOT the car itself. The car is not impacted but my ability to sell the car is. This needs to be changed so that I am able to sell the car, which has no defects, and is perfectly safe and drivable.
steering 4 complaints shown
The steering wheel locks at 9 and 3 when turning the wheel. It doesn’t spin back like it should when returning straight. Very dangerous!
I am experiencing a well known flaw in the Chevy Bolt steering rack. The rack loses grease over time and eventually begins making clunking sounds, does not return the steering wheel to center, and makes steering less precise. This is a very common issue within Chevy Bolt forums and should be addressed by Chevy as a safety issue.
2023 Bolt's steering wheel doesn't return to center position while driving making it dangerous to drive.
Steering system not behaving as expected. Very stiff when making left and right turns at slow and moderate speeds, with a failure of the steering wheel to return to center.
cruise control 3 complaints shown
Adaptive cruise failed just over 2k miles following another vehicle under 60mph and sped up to set cruise of 75 and would have hit the truck if I didn’t stop it, I took video of failure directly after the incident. First bolt EUV camera failed more than once even after it was replaced, that car was bought back under battery recall. My point is, it’s a continued issue. With lane keep assist you must always be prepared for it not to function, it doesn’t always work and have to cycle the on/off button (same with previous EUV too). While in super cruise in my current vehicle it tried to locate the left lane but a big rig was on the line and my car appeared it was going to hit the truck multiple times within a few seconds as each time I had to bring the car back to the center until I turned it
While merging onto a highway with a 60 mph speed limit, we got an error message that there was a propulsion system error and our speed was limited to 30 mph. Our car slowed down and could not accelerate. There was no warning before the speed was limited and no way to change course. It was Saturday night Nov. 25th and we had our one and half year old daughter in the backseat. Thank god my husband was able to react quickly and that there was shoulder for us to pull over on. Honestly we could have been killed or seriously injured. It’s a huge safety issue that the car will suddenly, without any warning, prevent you from going above a certain speed. The purpose is to protect the car, as I understand it, but there should at the very least be a countdown. I’m incredibly grateful I can report
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The Transmission Fluid Pump failed, and is needing to be replaced. The car only had 200 miles on it and was bought 5 days prior before the issue began. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The car immediatley reduced my speed to 30mph. I was driving on an expressway, and caused me to slow traffic. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yea, I have the error code given to me by OnStar: P2797 Auxilliary Transmission Fluid Pump error Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been brought into a Chevrolet service center and awaiting for a re

The lane departure warning goes on and off randomly. The heating stopped working. There are glitches on the screen interface. And yesterday a red light with a car and exclamation mark through it came on. I took it to the dealer and they only had time to check the code which came up as "hybrid/ev powertrain control module requested MIL illumination" The advisor who is not an ev technician told me not to worry about it because the light went off. Everything i am reading online says this could be a huge safety issue. When I reported it to the manufacturer, they told me to listen to the dealer without getting more information and would not transfer me to a manager. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of others. And I am finding Chevrolet to be negligent on what could be a huge hazard.
I have owned the car for less than six months and the battery went from full charge at 230 to know a full charge only being 180. I’m also sitting here at a dc charging station and have been here for an hour and a half and still haven’t reached 80%. What do I do?
Near my work place, I drove by that intersection a numerous times. One day, when I almost finished making the left turn, it suddenly gave me collision warning and suddenly took brake on the left front wheel by itself for about 1 second. There was nothing in front of me.

"service safety restraint system" Warning keeps popping up on screen. Took to dealer for repair. Problem not fixed. Warning still pops up.
lighting 1 complaint shown
I just recently got my 2023 BoltEUV and I have discovered that the configuration of the rear end brake lights is dangerous because people expect the lights on the hatch to be the brake lights, but they are actually only running lights at nights. The brake lights and turn signals are actually much lower down in the cars bumper - this is not where people expect them to be. As such, a few people have almost rear ended me already since they are looking in wrong place for the rear brake lights. I suggest the hatch lights are updated to be the running lights and brake lights (ie. they should get brighter when brakes are applied). The lights in the bumper should only come on when the hatch is open. (just like 2017-2021 BoltEVs used to have).
airbags 1 complaint shown
At less than 300 miles on odometer and while charging at a level 2 charger I checked my Chevy app and saw a warning for service airbag system. I had just checked it 15 mins prior and it was not on. Now it has an airbag light on…at 291 miles on the car. In car it says service safety restraint system. Still have to make a 200 mile trip back to my town in a couple days. Definitely frustrating for a car I have only had a week.
