Traveling 70mph on parkway, out of nowhere, the RPM start revving like the transmission had shifted into neutral, but it is still in Drive. Managed to get off at next exit allowing the Truck to coast. At stop sign, the Truck slams into first, slams into second, reaches 30mph and begins to do same problem and RPM’s rev like in neutral. Can not get the truck to go over 30mph of change any more gears. We did manage to take a 15 min ride to nearby Chevy Dealer. Dealer has confirmed no codes or check engine lights. After 1 full week in, no further information has been provided except at some point next week, it’s on the schedule to open the transmission. Vehicle is now stuck in Maryland. I did receive a rental to continue my way home that evening to SC.
tramsmission valve body failed causing lack of porpulsion and inability to put the pickup in park while in traffic. after coasting to the nearest chevy dealer they cleared the codes so i could drive home and take it to my local chevy dealer asap. the local chevy dealer refused to inspect it until the check engine light came back. one week later the transmission violentley down shifted into 5th gear and stayed there until it was shut off it would not go into park. on the second occurances it gave codes p0700 and p0747. it was towed to the local chevy dealer who claimed to inspect on 3 ocassions but efused to give me any paper work on the results of the inspection. beacuse they never inspected it. i took it to an indepent mechanic to replace the valve body. the 5000 miles since the valve bod
While driving to work one day I came to an intersection and stopped. When I went to accelerate to take off my truck shuttered and made a loud noise. The truck immediately went into "Reduced Power Mode" with no warning. I could no longer drive the appropriate speed limit and had to constantly pull over to allow other vehicles to go by. This caused a traffic jam on narrow roads to get the vehicle to a safe spot. My truck only has 43,000 miles on it. The dealership confirmed that the truck has a bad valve body and needs to be replaced. The truck is currently sitting at the dealership and has been since May 15, 2025. As of today, July 18, 2025, GM still does not have an ETA on when the part to fix my truck will ship out.
“Shift to Park” warning light appears even when vehicle is in park. Faulty solenoid in steering column.
Sudden jerk power train and deceleration while driving and towing 5th wheel, immediate loss of power and could have been catastrophic. GM has a known defect that requires immediate attention and investigation to affirm this is a broad national problem with the Allison 10 speed 10L1000 transmission, specifically the defective transmission control valve body assembly. Do we have to wait for multiple family members to be killed or seriously injured due to this known defect? Time for action and resolution. My local dealer tells me this is bigger than anyone knows... why?
Component/System: The Allison 10‑speed (10L1000) transmission valve body catastrophically failed on [XXX], while driving Sunday afternoon down Galveston Seawall Blvd. The truck abruptly dropped from 45 mph into limp mode in heavy traffic, forcing me to pull into the bike lane to avoid being rear‑ended. The vehicle remains at Classic Chevrolet (Galveston, TX) awaiting the OEM valve body—which is on national backorder—and the complete transmission assembly is likewise unavailable. The failed valve body and transmission are available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: Unexpected limp mode and gear lock‑up in heavy traffic create an immediate risk of rear‑end collisions or side impacts as surrounding drivers have no warning of sudden deceleration or loss of drive. Was driving east on i40 between Hinton and calumet when my truck through a check engine light and service parking break. I pulled over it smelt like burning wires I cleared the codes with a code reader and turn the truck on the accessory when smoke filled the cab I got out and the truck was in flames.
When slowing down the vehicle and almost coming to complete stop the truck shutters when it shifts down. Also, if slowing down and almost coming to a stop and then accelerating the truck hesitates, and then shifts hard. The truck hesitating has caused a delay in clearing traffic while turning to exit the road.
While driving my truck it shifts into tow mode by itself, also on june 1st 2025 my truck shifted to 4 low by itself .

The vehicle mileage is 1,886. The vehicle steering command left or right turns had beautiful chime sound. The dealership could not find the signal chime commands. They claim that this vehicle doesn't have chime when turning right or left. This high-end truck has a lot features that dealership don't know about. This vehicle mileage is very good on the highway 22.4 miles per gallon.
The vehcile only has 1779 miles. The ac unit operated for short period time. The outside temperture was 95 degree fahrenheit all the controls were not inoperate. The a/c compressor pump was not functioning. The only items working was the fan motor blowing hot air. I restated the vehicle and still no cold air output. The dealership said they could not find any problems with a/c unit. The unit operated normaly and the tempertuer is 35 degrees output. The second problem the dash panel emergency light cable was never installed. The dealer had to order the part.
when driving radio and display will freeze up. sometimes screen will black out other times screen will just freeze where ever i had it last. when problem happens i am unable to turn radio down or off. back up camera will freeze with no directional lines. I have the advanced trailering package and if this happens i will not be able to see behind trailer. I have had several dealers look at problem and there is several bulletins for most radios but my radio which is a IOR code says there is no fix
Vehicle was towing Horse Trailer. Gave an indication message to check trailer break wiring. I did so and all was working fine. I loaded my horses and pulled out onto the road. Traveling 10 mph the truck completely shut off, no brakes, No warning, I helplessly rolled to a stop. The truck then turned on electrically, but did not start the engine completely by itself. Two minutes later, the truck turned itself off electrically. The motor was never running. I had it towed to a dealership in which it took them five days to repair. The truck has 17,000 miles on it. If I would’ve been traveling on the expressway or going any faster, I could’ve killed people.. I personally have PTSD from ever driving this truck hooked to a trailer again. There should have been some kind of warning system

I was on a two lane driving down the road and getting up to speed. I was still about 45 miles per hour on my way up to 55 mph my vehicle started de rating very fast as I’m driving and then my engine shut off. I had no control over my steering as I made a turn to get off the two-lane road because there was no shoulder. I had to turn the steering wheel really hard and was not able to control the vehicle at all because the engine shut down completely. Everything shut down. I was sticking out in the road. I have no clue yet. What caused it I had to get it towed to a dealership. I just thank God I wasn’t on an interstate but still I was on a two lane and had just topped over a small hill where nobody could see me when they topped the little hill. It could’ve been a very dangerous situation.
My vehicle says put in park when it’s already in park . My sons vehicle also does the same thing it’s a 1500 Silverado

This is not a failure, just a poor design for cold temperatures. The windshield wipers are set low on the windshield, below where the defroster can reach. When it is cold/snowing outside, (which it does a lot in the Alaskan interior), the wipers remove the melted water from the windshield and push it down to where the wipers sit in the off position. This causes a major buildup of ice very quickly and the wipers freeze to the glass and collect ice. Then, when the driver attempts to clear more melting snow, the ice that is frozen to the wipers just creates major streaking and poor visibility.

The hood latch broke off mid drive on the freeway and my hood came up and then slammed down, came up again and went flying across the freeway.
