I'm an employee at a driving school in Colorado and have experienced numerous occasion when loss of power is experienced. The most recent was in 10/05/2025 at 02:10pm. No warning light came on. The car was not accelerating more then 18mph. This issue is concerning. We have students driving for the first time that are affected by this Nissan Versa 2024 malfunction. Please have this issue reviewed and solved before something serious occurs.

I stalled my vehicle (5-speed manual) in a drive through. I quickly restarted the vehicle and proceeded through. When I pulled out onto the main road my car had no power. There was nowhere safe to pull over so I had to continue. My car would not accelerate above 20mph and even that was extremely hard. I had to downshift to 1st gear to proceed up the hill. Finally, I was able to pull off and restart my car. This fixed the issue and I was able to drive home. I’ve not stalled the car before so I had never experienced this issue. I’ve read about it, and having it happen is terrifying. Had the car who was driving behind me been going faster, I likely would have been hit when I pulled out of the drive through. This is extremely dangerous.
Car stalled on highway. Car would not push pass 20 mph no matter how much I pressed on the gas. Eventually car stopped moving and this happened on the highway while I was driving normally and then it slowed down and then stopped. This happened before about 5 months ago and I turned car off and it drove again so didn't think of an issue until today when it happened again and didn't move. I had to wait 2hrs for a tow to the Nissan Dealer for service in the morning.
Car is 4 months old 12,000 miles. 3 intermittent episodes upon startup car has only 20% power even with gas pedal to the floor like it’s in limp home mode. All episodes so far on cold start up 60-80 degree weather. No CEL lights, no misfire, no odd smells. YouTube poster has same problem and ran obd scan tool showing crank position sensor malfunction. Others suspect problem is software issue associated with Nissan removing the push button start from Versa S trim level only cars in 2022/2023 model years and possibly in manual transmission cars only. Car is extremely unsafe to drive in this condition and the female owner is reluctant to drive it 50 miles to work and be stranded. Nissan dealer examined the car and found no issues on first attempt. Car going to the repair shop for a second
My car stalled while backing up in heavy gravel. I started out and did not notice that my car was not accelerating. I pulled out into a 65 mph road and began shifting and realized my car was not accelerating. It was a road where pulling over was dangerous. I found an area and turn the car off. I restarted (fixed it when 1st occurrence happened). Got back on the road and again my car was not accelerating above 25-30 mph. Pulled out off the road shut the car off and waited 2-3 minutes and again restarted and the car resumed working properly. This was extremely dangerous due to the road not having safe pull outs. This is the second time this has occurred in my new car.
While driving on city streets the check engine light came on and I was unable to accelerate or maintain speeds above 30mph. Because the car couldn’t operate at posted speed limits, other vehicles were stuck behind me or had to go around. It was also slow to start at traffic signals. I will be taking the vehicle to the dealer shortly for further diagnosis.
I had stalled my car and after I restarted it my car had a significant loss of power. I shifted and car would not accelerate at all top speed was 25-30 mph. I had my gas pedal depressed and no change in speed/ I limped to a dealership turned car off and restarted and car was back to normal. This vehicle was 2 days from purchase and less than 500 miles on it. I reported to dealer and was never called back for instructions on how to proceed
The car lost power and would not go over 40 MPH. This made for a dangerous situation on the road. P2615-00 A Crankshaft Position Sensor code was thrown, but when I took it to the dealer they could not replicate the problem. I have video documentation of the problem I can provide. Since I posted my video, several other people have come forward with the same issue. It seems as if when the manual transmission version of this car is stalled or fails to start, it will throw this code and severely reduce the power. It seems to be a simple software issue, but so far all the Nissan dealers who have looked at these cars have not been able to provide a fix. This problem apparently affects all 2022-2023 Versas with the manual transmission. The problem is likely they did not properly code for t
I was taking my 23 versa M/T to the dealer for its 10.000 mile service and upon driving the vehicle while pulling away from a stop sign I stall the vehicle and after that there was a significant loss of power, restarting the engine did not help. When I got to the dealership I did not shut the engine off and told them about the issue and said it was a safety issue and did not have the power to get out of the way in a emergencysituation. Unfortunately they claimed they could not duplicate the issue and requested to hold the vehicle for further investigation. Before the vehicle le was stalled there were no warning lamps or check engine lights or any symptoms prior nor any warning lamps on the wa to the dealership while the issue consisted. This problem has happened twice before while my wife

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? I would like to add my experience to others that are currently being investigated under NHTSA investigation PE24007. I have the same experience with my Versa - after the vehicle stalls, it is significantly under-powered and even with the throttle completely open in third gear, will not accelerate over about 40 mph. This is re-creatable and we will make the car available for inspection. In addition, when we first drove the car home from the dealership (the first time at sustained highway speeds), there was a thumping noise from the front passenger wheel well. After multiple trips to the dealership, Nissan replaced the manual transmission under warranty. This has resolved the thumping, but i
After I stalled the engine in a fast food drive through I restarted the car. When I went to take off the engine had no power and took a very long time to get up to speed throughout the gear selection. I was almost rear ended because of this. The car did not throw any check engine lights or dash codes. I got home and turned off the car. It sat for about 10 minutes then I test drove it around the block and it was fine.
2023 Versa occasionally loses power. Though the gas pedal is pressed to the floor, and despite downshifting, the car continues to lose power. This has happened about four times since car was purchased new in June 2023. Turning cart off and restarting may or may not interrupt the power loss. ~What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? We are not sure what is malfunctioning, and yes, it may be inspected upon request. ~How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Loss of power means others may hit our vehicle, not knowing we are losing power. We may not be able to move out of a dangerous traffic situation. ~Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Dealer appo

2023 Nissan Versa S has manual transmission. Car will intermittently lose acceleration. When this problem starts, car is unable to go over 30mph in any gear and even with the accelerator pedal pushed to the floor. This has occurred 5 times so far. Sudden loss of speed creates a life threatening situation when driving on a highway and speeds of 65 mph are expected. The car will suddenly drop to 30mph or lower without any warning and will not accelerate. Problem is not fixed by restarting the engine. Car was taken to Premier Nissan of Fremont, California on 10/20/23. They reported: 2560 did not verify customer concern. Road tested with additional technician, drove vehicle in every gear from 1-5 5mph to 65 mph. Also down shifted from there and no hesitation or loss of power was fel
I am adding my own experience to previous reports of the car entering limp mode after popping the clutch. It has happened to me three or four times: when the car has accidentally stalled and turned off, after turning the car back on, the car accelerates very slowly, much slower than normal. Typically, this problem resolves at the end of a trip after the car has been turned off for a while.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were yet contacted. The failure mileage was 11,000.

This vehicle is a manual transmission model. If the engine is stalled on takeoff and has to be restarted it enters a low power condition where acceleration is severely reduced. The power loss is bad enough to make it impossible to keep up with traffic. Even maintaining speed while climbing hills is difficult. This is dangerous because moving much more slowly than surrounding traffic makes this car a collision risk. The low power condition continues until the vehicle is turned off and the key is removed. The MIL light has come on and the DTC is P2615. We have scheduled to take the vehicle for service tomorrow, but it hasn't been seen by a technician yet.
I went to take off and cross traffic and lost all power to my car it would barley move. I was almost hit by a Semi truck. This is not the first time this has happened either. My car is barely a year old. It had no warning light on or anything. I have to stop, shut my car off, take the keys out and let it set then restart it for it to start working right.

My 2023 Nissan Versa S5MT has a reoccurring issue where under a stall condition the car will occasionally loose all power on a restart. This happened once in traffic. I got to a red light and fumbled the clutch pedal and stalled in stopped traffic. I went to get in front of a semi that was moving faster then me and if I didn't realize what happened I may have cut him off and gotten T-boned. In a 2500lb car like the Versa, that could have killed me. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they failed to replicate the issue. There were no symptoms or warnings prior to the failure. Many others have claimed this issue exists with their 2023 Nissan Versas and also claimed the dealership could not fix theirs.
I had a oem battery replaced 6 months ago and the battery went dead again in 6 months and now I have to jumpstart the battery to start the car.
