The contact owns a 2024 Acura ZDX. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) activated the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) erroneously. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure occurred more frequently while reversing and occurred intermittently while driving forward. The contact stated that his wife also owned the same model vehicle, which had experienced the same failure. The contact had taken his wife's vehicle to an unknown local dealer, where it was suggested that the Forward Collision Avoidance system should be disabled. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mil

The contact owns a 2024 Acura ZDX. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) engaged erroneously. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure also occurred while reversing. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
While moving about 40mph, the emergency brake engaged and it slowed car down significantly. However, there was nothing in front of me. I turned emergency braking off due to this issue. Also, during raining day, when backing out of driveway, car's emergency brakes engaged. This happen twice.
The forward collision warning and forward collision braking malfunctioned several times triggering false warnings and unnecessary hard braking. My safety was put at risk because the vehicle came to an abrupt, violent stop while in traffic and applied the parking brake. This action not only caused items in my vehicle (e.g., phone, water bottle, sunglasses) to fly to the front of the car and land in the footwells, but also hurt my neck and head from the severe and harsh movement. Additionally, this sudden unpredictable full stop creates a very high risk of the vehicle following me rear ending my vehicle, resulting in further injury and property damage. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a service center as I have not had time to bring the vehicle in for service yet. The vehi
On [XXX] at approximately 700 miles on a 2024 Acura ZDX A-Spec AWD (VIN [XXX] ), the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) failed to engage during a collision event. The system did not provide forward collision warning and did not initiate automatic emergency braking before impact. The collision resulted in minor damage to my vehicle. There were no injuries. CMBS is a manufacturer-installed automatic emergency braking system designed and marketed as a primary collision-avoidance safety feature; its failure to engage in an impending-impact scenario is a safety-critical defect. This CMBS failure is one of multiple safety system defects on this vehicle. Beginning at approximately 200 miles, the rear Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) developed progressive failures, including: Rear
On several occasions the car will violently stop as if we have crashed into something but there is nothing there. There is no warning before this happens even though we have the alert setting turned on. This has happened while we are reversing and moving forward. This puts us (driver and passengers) at risk because it is such a sudden and violent stop that it hurts our bodies (neck/back) and it is very stressful. It has not been reproduced or confirmed by the dealership yet
The following diagnostic tip was issued by the NHTSA for the Cadillac Lyriq (same vehicle as Acura ZDX): PIC6537A The Acura ZDX has the same issue and there are multiple forum posts online. However Acura dealers are claiming there is no bulletin / fix from Acura. The AC compress which also functions as a heat pump vibrates and shakes the entire vehicle. This system may be responsible for battery temps as well, Im not sure. If that is the case it is very important so battery temps are regulated and fires don't happen.
I am writing to report a serious safety defect in my 2024 Acura ZDX concerning the Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking. The system exhibits hyper-sensitivity, leading to unwarranted and dangerous automatic braking events. On 3/17/25, at approximately 4pm PT, I was driving my Acura ZDX on US 101 at 65 mph. A vehicle in front of me changed lanes into my lane. There was ample space between my vehicle and the vehicle that changed lanes. However, the Automatic Emergency Braking engaged the brakes forcefully, bringing my vehicle to a complete stop in the middle of the freeway. The vehicle essentially stalled for approximately 5-10 seconds, and I was unable to accelerate or move forward during this time. This created a highly dangerous situation, as I was vulnerable to being r
When you activate the turn signal to go right and complete the turn the signal snaps back so hard it auto activates the left turn signal. This occurs even when manually turning the signal on and off

The contact owns a 2024 Acura ZDX. The contact stated that while driving 35-40 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal went down to the floorboard, and the vehicle slightly responded, causing the braking distance to be extended and the vehicle drove through the red traffic light before stopping. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving. The dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.
Multiple times, while both reversing and driving forward, the vehicle has initiated hard emergency braking maneuvers when no emergency exists -- no rear or front cross traffic, no pedestrians. This is dangerous and could initiate a crash with other cars following the vehicle.
When hard braking the car doesn’t stop, you can feel the wheels lock up and it slides forward. Some times when stopping at slow speeds the car will lunge forward. I almost hit a car, went in an intersection and one time almost hit a person and I was only going 5-10 mph that time and I hit the brakes and the car slid forward. I am really scared and Acura says they test drove mine and a new one and they both do it so there is nothing wrong with it.
When backing up the car will slam on its brakes when there is NOTHING behind me. Most of the time it is when I am backing out of my driveway it will do it 2-3 times when nothing is there. It has done it a couple of times backing out of a parking space when nothing is there. I reported this to Acura but they didn’t do anything about it.
This is the most recent time that the automatic brake on my car kicked in for no reason. It has happened several times and I have made Acura aware of it, but this is the first time it has almost caused an accident because the car behind me almost rear-ended me. A Similar incident happened last year and I brought it in and they did nothing since they could not replicate it. I let the dealership know that there is a recall associated with this and they said that my VIN number does not match any recalls. I made it very clear to them that it is a safety issue and that it needs to be looked into in more depth in the only response they gave me was that sometimes the automatic brakes can be triggered by items that look like bicycles or people. In this case, there was a car in front of me and a c
The automatic rear braking system on my 2024 Acura ZDX engages unexpectedly and without cause. It happens regularly when reversing, even though there are no obstacles, people, or vehicles behind the car. The sudden braking is jarring and creates a real safety concern, especially in traffic or tight spaces. I took the vehicle to my local Acura dealership, but they had no information or guidance on the issue. Despite this, many other ZDX owners are reporting the exact same problem on forums like Reddit, AcuraZine, and Facebook groups. This is clearly not an isolated incident and should be investigated immediately. The system is too aggressive and unreliable in its current state. It poses a risk of causing accidents or injuries. Acura must address this issue with a software update or recall
The contact owns a 2024 Acura MDX. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 10 MPH and coming to a stop, the ABS activated unexpectedly and released brake pressure in the service brake system. The contact stated that the vehicle unexpectedly came to a complete stop. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V614000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,080.

On Wednesday, [XXX], I was driving near an intersection. There was a vehicle in front of me; however, they were accelerating as was I and at approximately the same speed. For no apparent reason, the automatic emergency braking activated and slammed on the brakes for absolutely no reason. This not only scared myself, but my [XXX] daughter in the back seat, and we almost were rear-ended by the car behind us. It was almost as if I was "brake-checking" the person. Both my daughter and I complained of neck pain (almost felt like whiplash) as well as a headache following this incident. There was absolutely no warning that this was going to happen. There were no messages, lights, or any other issues at the time. While this incident has only happened one time, it has happened one time when the ve
My 2024 Acura ZDX A-Spec is impacted by the NHTSA Campaign Number 26V112000 (blank instrument panel/rearview camera). I took the vehicle to the dealership for the recall software update. The service invoice explicitly states: 'software update due performed software update on vehicle A11.' However, the update did not actually apply. The A11 module update is supposed to transition the infotainment system from Android 12 to Android 14 to resolve the safety issue. My vehicle is still stuck on Android 12, and Acura has incorrectly advised me that my trim does not get the update. The dealership's diagnostic tools are falsely reporting that the A11 safety recall update was successfully completed when it has not been, leaving my vehicle's camera and instrument panel vulnerable to failure. I have
Was trying to unlock the vehicle but it wouldn’t unlock the doors with the remote. Had to crawl through the trunk to access the car. Got a “door latch system service” maintenance error on the screen after the dealership had “fixed” it. This is a huge safety concern as this car is electric and if it does not unlock from the inside, can cause the passengers to be stuck in the car.

I purchased the 2024 Acura ZDX, an EV SUV, three months ago with approximately 2000 miles. Both the front and entertainment displays (monitors) have ceased to function. Unfortunately, the user menu does not provide any guidance on repairing or resetting. I still could drive to my dealer to have it repaired with a black screen, which poses a safety concern. The ZDX was manufactured by GM under the GM platform. I conducted some research and found that this is not uncommon for all GM platform EVs, including Honda and Acura. I urge you to conduct further investigation. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
