severe NHTSA 24V726000 September 30, 2024

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc

A short circuit in a high-voltage battery module increases the risk of a fire.

Fix: Dealers will install advanced diagnostic software as the final remedy free of charge. For vehicles where on-line data is available (Audi recall number 931A), as an interim measure, the vehicles will be monitored through online data evaluation at no cost to owners. Where the online data shows a potentially critical battery module, the owner will be contacted and advised to only charge the vehicle up to 80% charging capacity until the affected module can be replaced at an authorized Audi dealer, free of charge. For vehicles where online-data is not available (Audi recall number 931B), as an interim measure, dealers will perform diagnostic procedures and, if necessary, replace battery module assemblies, free of charge. Owners of these vehicles will also be advised to only charge their vehicle up to 80% charging capacity, and the inspection may have to be repeated before the software becomes available. Owner notification letters were mailed to Audi recall number 931A on July 24, 2025, and 931B was mailed on July 28, 2025. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Vehicles previously repaired under the prior recalls will need to have the new remedy completed.

Common questions

Is the 2024 Audi RS e-tron GT reliable?

Limited NHTSA data. Only 1 owner complaint has been filed for the 2024 Audi RS e-tron GT, which is not enough for a meaningful reliability score. Active recalls (if any) are listed on this page and remain authoritative — those are verified defects regardless of complaint volume. For a confident reliability read we look for at least 10 owner complaints in the federal database.

Should you avoid the 2024 Audi RS e-tron GT?

Only 1 NHTSA complaint on file — too few for a confident call. The 3 active recalls above remain authoritative; read those first. We don't issue a buy/avoid verdict on the 2024 Audi RS e-tron GT without a meaningful complaint sample — doing so off a handful of filings would be guesswork.

What's the most common problem on the 2024 Audi RS e-tron GT?

No problem area has crossed our reporting threshold yet, which is a good sign for this vehicle.

What's the most expensive thing that goes wrong?

Major repair items haven't been flagged often enough on this vehicle to single one out.

How do I check if my Audi RS e-tron GT has open recalls?

Paste your VIN into the decoder at the top of this page. We pull live from NHTSA, so you'll see exactly which campaigns apply to your vehicle and whether the dealer has logged the fix. Recall repairs are always free regardless of mileage or warranty status.

Is an extended warranty worth it on a 2024 Audi RS e-tron GT?

Hard to say from NHTSA data alone with only 1 complaint on file. A quality service contract runs $1,800–3,500 over 3 years. The decision comes down to your specific situation: vehicle cost, miles on it, how long you plan to keep it, and whether you can absorb a $3K–$8K repair without straining cashflow. With limited public data on this vehicle, lean on the recall list above and check owner forums before committing.
