2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer owner complaints

THIS IS AN UPDATE FOR COMPLAINT # 11619009 After doing some online research and discussing with the service manager at my dealership, we identified a SIMPLE issue- apparently there was a problem with the torque used in connecting the ground wire for the electrical auto start-stop feature, which is what cause my vehicle to completely die and not be able to be restarted. after it was identified, it was corrected within minutes. I highly recommend that there be a service bulletin for any purchasers/lessees of the new 2024 Trailblazer (and possibly other Chevy vehicles) to have the grounding issue checked.

I was driving my 1 week old vehicle, on a city street, foot still on the gas, and the vehicle COMPLETELY shut down; no power at all. it wasn't the auto start/stop technology, but rather a complete power down. no lights, no hazard lights, no dash, nothing worked. The car came to an abrupt stop. The gear shift could not be moved into neutral, nothing. Luckily I was on a city street with not a lot of traffic. If I had been on a highway it could have caused a SERIOUS accident; if I had been driving across railroad tracks and it stops - very dangerous. I was able to contact AAA, and after a "jump", it started. However, because of my proximity to the highway, I opted to have it towed to the dealer where I bought it....they ran service on it and can find nothing wrong with it...as you can imag

My 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer has two main issues. First, there is a constant squealing noise when braking. I reported this twice to the dealer — the first time they said it was just sand inside the wheel. The noise continued. On the second visit, they told me it would cost over $100 to inspect the brakes because the wheel needed to be removed, which I couldn’t afford. This problem started before the vehicle reached 36,000 miles. Second, the electrical system malfunctions occasionally while driving. When I connect my son’s phone to Bluetooth, both the dashboard and infotainment screens shut off completely for a few seconds. I was driving and the vehicle cluster display and radio went out. I was unable to see how fast i was going and any system info. It eventually came back on. During this time the car was continuing to drive but unable to see any lane - blindspot warning or speed or system controls or warning events.

I was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green I entered the intersection, the LKA system began alerting me and pulling the vehicle towards the oncoming left traffic turn lane. I took my foot off the accelerator and reached over to shut the LKA off as it was pulling my vehicle. The incident resulted in distracting me resulting in my car hitting a car in the oncoming left turn lane.

Check engine light came on steady (not flashing) took to local repair shop and was informed it was a Thermo Control Valve. My car currently has approximately 66k miles on it.

The required back up camera got water inside the housing, worked for a little while, and then ultimately failed. There is a Recall for other trailblazers with this exact issue, however it seems my VIN was not included in said recall.

The audio in the vehicle goes out the radio and the warning sounds for all the safety alerts. The vehicle has been to the dealer 3 times the problem still is occurring. The problem is random no telling when it will occur. I have called GM customer service they were useless. When the audio for the vehicle goes out when I turn off the vehicle if it sits most of the time the audio will come back on. Today 8/18/2024 the audio went out twice no sounds for anything blinkers, lane assist, side mirror alert, stop alert nothing. This also affects the radio. The service department tells me they are dependent on the GM IT guys who in my assessment have no idea how to fix this. This is a safety and hazard problem with all sound going out for all alert systems.

My daughter was stopped at a stoplight and the auto-stop engaged. The light turned green and she began to accelerate when all of the error lights on the dash lit up, then the dash info system and infotainment system went out followed by the engine turning off and not restarting. While all of this happened, the vehicle behind me struck my daughter’s car. Luckily it was at a low rate of speed and no one was injured. I took the car to the dealer and after nearly a week of testing they found nothing wrong and found no error codes in the system. They ere not able to replicate the problem. However, once we got the vehicle back a similar instance happed again, except just the dash info system and infotainment system went out and the car was still drivable. When accelerating forward, the front wheel is almost locked up, and I was violently thrown forward into the seat belt and steering wheel. The transmission seemed like it jammed and the car was bucking. there is a known GM technical service bulletin on this, but no recall. The car was towed to the dealer and not drivable. I’m glad this did not happen on the highway or with other cars around or it would have caused an accident and injury.

When shifting from park to drive after the engine start none of the gears on the shifter engage. All positions are in neutral except for park. When shifting from park to any gear the engine revs when the throttle is pressed but the vehicle will immediately roll whichever way the ground is inclined. The power brakes won't engage thus forcing the driver to put their entire weight on the brake pedal to stop the car. A fix for this issue is described in General Motors Service update N2424466290 which identifies solution as replacement of the clutch piston housing. The Dealer will not fix the problem because my VIN # was not on their list of vehicles to fix. The brakes have been squeaking and making grinding noises since I hit 13,000 miles.it was intermittent at first, and was only happening when I was slowly hitting the brakes,but every time I stop now you can hear them squeak or make noise..i took it to a local mechanic and they said the brakes look ok, but to check with the dealer. I took the car to the dealership and they said they didn’t hear the squeaking or grinding but they gave me a pamphlet that said the brakes just do that, that it’s normal they are making sounds and the pamphlet said possibly reasons why they are noisy.the brakes sounding like that is not normal,because they don’t sound good, and they seem to be getting worse.

The contact stated that the failure was related to Bulletin Number 22-NA-026: The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined there was 10 percent braking. There was devitt in the rear brakes and rotors. The caliper pin placement was off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined the brakes needed to be replaced and resurfaced. The brakes were replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

The vehicle spontaneously caught on fire, I don't understand why. The person driving the car was in the vehicle when it caught on fire. There was no warning, no concerns.

My front passenger seatbelt will not latch

While in traffic, brand new 2024 Chevy Trailblazer vehicle has stalled on us a few times now and doesn't start right back up. It appears to happen when the vehicle is going from the fuel saving "start-stop mode" and we've found ourselves in a precarious situtations in traffic. I can foresee this happening at a very dangerous time causing a bad wreck. We just dropped the vehicle off with the dealer as we've had other issues with safety deterrent system going off for no reason and other pop ups on the instrument panel. However, the stalling in the middle of traffic is my worst concern.
