2024 Nissan Kicks owner complaints

The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Kicks. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the crash indicator warning light illuminated, but there were no other vehicles nearby. The contact stated that on another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Lane Departure lines on the instrument panel and the crash indicator warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that within 9 days of owning the vehicle, the rear window glass exploded without impact after sitting alone for approximately 8 hours. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,900.

My Nissan Kicks SV was sitting in my carport, with no temperature extremes and no weather when the back windshield exploded. I called the College Station Texas Nissan dealership and they said that my warranty did not cover the exploded windshield. My car is less than 2 years old and only has 13, 015 miles on it. The dealership told me it would cost me over 400.00 dollars to have the windshield replaced. I have explored the internet and found out that this is a recurring thing that happens to Nissan vehicles. Mine is not the first. I have a 4 month old baby that rides in the backseat of this vehicle. If the windshield had exploded while she was in the car, she could have been seriously injured or killed. This is a nightmare of a safety issue.

Rear windshield shattered while car was parked indoors. The car had been in the garage for several hours and the temperature was mild so underwent no extreme temperature/pressure fluctuation, rear hatch had been open for about 20 minutes as I was vacuuming the carpets. I was working in the front seat nowhere near the rear window - nothing came in contact with the window, there were no preexisting cracks or chips. The glass seemed to have shattered outward from the edges, as glass from both sides of the window was projected outward into the garage.

On the morning of February 24, 2025, I went to the doctor's office because I was really sick. Their protocol is to check in then go wait in the vehicle since you might be contagious to other patients. My mom had gone with me, and was inside checking me in. I am sitting in my parked vehicle at 7:35am when there was a VERY loud pop that scared the heck out of me! My mom said she heard it from inside the building, as did other patients sitting in the lobby! I waited a moment and looked around. As usual, the doors automatically unlocked when I pulled up, and I exited the vehicle. Problem with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB). I'm driving on a road with 2 lanes in my direction at about 35 mph. Approached a curve that makes a slight left turn in the road. There happens to be a bicyclist on the curve. As the car reaches a position where the bicyclist is in direct frontal view of the vehicles cameras/radar, the AEB activates, even though we're both on the curve and I'm not going to hit the bicyclist. The activation of the AEB lasted only a second or two until the bicyclist was no longer in my direct path, but the noise from the brakes activating and the sudden deceleration scared the devil out of me causing me to panic momentarily. The fuel gage or DTE(Distance to Empty) started to malfunction after the last time the tank was filled up. It did not correct itself and now I can't get an appointment with the Service Department to have it look at.

The contact stated that after parking the vehicle in the driveway and turning off the vehicle, while exiting the vehicle, the rear hatchback glass suddenly shattered. The contact stated that prior to the failure, the rear defroster was not activated, and there was no impact to the hatchback glass to cause the glass to shatter. I took my 2024 Nissan Kicks SV to the dealership with approximately 2000 miles on it. The vehicle as an increased concerning issue where, while idling in park with no one in the vehicle, the engine will have a continuous revving then loud click/clunk noise, return to normal, then start again. It’s been getting progressively louder. Dealership stated they were unable to replicate the issue and there were no codes/issues showing on the computer. It started happening around 1500 miles occasionally and quieter, but now at nearly 2500 miles it’s increasing in frequency and noise level. The vehcile was in a munor accicent. There was a rock in the road on a roundabout. The rock popped the front left tire causing vehichle to go out of control. There was some undercarriage damage to the control arms. There was no body damage. No rollover. No other vehicle involved. There was some wheel damage on the right side due to the curbing. This for seemingly no reason caused the passabger side curtain airbags to depoly. There was nobody in the passanger seat.

The car was off and parked, I had been driving, and my grand daughter in the back seat. My grand daughter who is [XXX] old was getting out of the car from the passengers rear door and the rear seat belt locked and retracted around her , continuously tightened and was wrapped around her abdomen, squeezing and failed to release. 12/10/2024 brake warning light was on. Took to dealership and they found the left rear C1BDA-13 actuator malfunction, caliper parking brake motor to have open connection internally. Replaced on 12/13/24 along with gasket brake hose. 1/31/25 brake warning light on again. Dealership found the right rear C1BDB-13 actuator malfunction open. Unable to get code to reset. Replaced on 2/14/25 along with gasket brake hose. 2/19/26 brake warning light on again. Dealership found both rear actuators malfunction open and cracked (technician stated they were cracked in the video sent to me as an update), believe moisture getting inside parking brake calipers and freezing. Replaced both on 3/5/26 along with all 4 gasket brake hoses

On Friday, January 23, 2026, at approximately 6:41AM, I was going to Starbucks located at 5378 W. Rosecrans Ave Hawthorne, CA 90250. My partner and I were talking, I was just about to exit to get my coffee then we heard a loud “pop” like a gun shot, and then the sound of shattering glass. We jumped, frighted, startled by the sound, immediately looking over at the back seat of my car window. We both exited the car, a man who was outside of the front of my car (just walking by coming out of Starbucks) heard the same sound, he exclaimed “what was that a gun shot?”, we both thought it was an active shooter! I ducked and took cover. I was scared for my life. I noticed a women exiting her car across from mine, assumed it was safe. I asked her if she saw anything. She seen I was shaking up, and m
