2024 Toyota Corolla Cross owner complaints

After taking my vehicle for the hard braking recall, the rear liftgate no longer opens. The door latch is released and I can manually open the door. Once open the door does respond and closes with FOB or close button.

Brake lights dont completely light up. High chance of rearend accident at night.

Key FOB will not be detected onboard by the system after start and alarm persist for more than 30-45 minutes.

When i unlocked my vehicle and step on the brakes and press the ignition, the car suddenly alarms and says “check hybrid system, ignition on, no key detected”. Several attenpts are made and it keeps happening five times until it stops. This condition kept me from travelling and delayed me for more than 45 minutes.

I had left work less than 2 miles away. I was sitting at red light. The light turn green I took my foot off brake my screen went black and power failed. I put it in park and it restart. Power came back on. I turn off A button and drove 22 miles home with no known issues. No warning lights had came on. I found this to be a dangerous situation in traffic. 2 weeks ago I had taken my car for oil change, tire rotation and had a brake flush to dealership in Spanish fort Daphne, AL. I currently have 37,688 miles on car.

The car started alarming and cannot detect the key fob. I got stock for 15 minutes.

Received message in car stating power brake low. On the app, received a message stating there is a malfunction with the brakes. The messages have since gone away and will be contacting dealership.

The recall repair was performed by Toyota dealer , Larry Miller Toyota, Murray UT, XXX, and involved the software update for the vehicle's pedestrian warning sound when operating in reverse. Oil and filter also serviced. Two days after the recall repair the rear power hatch (which has never malfunctioned) would not open. The motor ran to unlock but did not raise the door. Corolla Cross Hybrid SE- The tail lights are almost non existent. At night when I look from behind, the car is almost invisible from 50 feet away. Lic plate light is the only help. Looks very dangerous and scary to drive in the evening or in the dark. Please look into this.

The headlights on this vehicle are not safe. They have a shadow , or curtain over the top half of beam. This severely curtails your ability to see safely down the road. Going up to a hill, your ability to see road hazards are almost nill. You cannot see hazards to the side of vehicle , or above, either. My wife is a school bus driver, and is aware you should be able to see 15 seconds in front of you, or a city block. This vehicle totally fails to illuminate anything near that. And you cannot read street signs, unless they have their own lighting. We took it to the dealer. They adjusted the lights, which didn’t solve the problem, and now we are getting flashed by other drivers, and are causing road rage. Please help!

While returning home from an outing, I accelerated the gas to switch lanes and the check engine light came on, I heard a gravel like pop noise. And saw smoke coming from my car towards the back. A car next to me told me to pull over as my car was on fire. After finding a safe destination to pull over, the hood of my car and engine caught on fire. Thus resulting to a total loss of the car and assistance from the fire department as well as the police department to deal with the aftermath of the vehicle.

Toyota recall 24TA11 was performed by the dealership. It is a software update to help with braking under certain conditions. However, this update has led to the power tailgate not longer opening. This is an unintended side effect of the update. Several other instances of the tailgate failing after the software update have been reported. Toyota must fix this.

The AC condenser on my 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross suffered a premature failure due to a critical vehicle design flaw. The lower bumper grille features exceptionally wide gaps placed very low to the ground, leaving the delicate aluminum condenser completely unprotected from routine, foreseeable highway debris. Because the climate control system regulates internal dehumidification, this premature failure directly compromises the vehicle's windshield defrosting and defogging capabilities. During temperature changes and damp conditions, the vehicle is unable to adequately clear the inside glass, severely impairing driver visibility and creating an immediate operating hazard on the road.

After turning left into a parking spot,car did not stop as usual.The car went over curb and hit a 'no overnight parking sign.The collision bent the sign pole and damaged my driver front black bumper. I was stunned and did not realize it was a vehicle error, at first. I have owned the vehicle 6 months and have had difficulty understanding the technical aspects of it.
