The infotainment screen automatically adjusts its brightness based on readings from the ambient light sensor. However, during dusk and dawn, while conditions still appear relatively bright to the human eye, the sensor interprets the light levels as low and significantly dims the screen. As a result, the display can become so dark that it is nearly unreadable. This issue occurs even when the…

OnStar system on the vehicle is busted. Because of this the accident detection no longer works and the GPS is stuck in no mans land which makes it impossible to use their app to figure out charging percentage, how far and route to take to the nearest charging station.

Car has been asleep after parking and will not wake up leaving all electrical components dead. GM has not been able to repair and unfortunately this has occurred 5 times including twice the month of March, 2026. Having a car parked in an unsafe location and not being able to move it very unsettling. After 30-60 minutes the car will start back up and operate normally.

Telematics module failed and the vehicle couldn’t connect to emergency OnStar services if involved in crash. GPS also doesn’t work with a faulty module. No cellular or WiFi connectivity. Car reroutes to somewhere without this module working. I’m paying for the OnStar subscription but with a faulty module it can’t connect. GM says part back ordered with no ETA. Common questions

How serious is the electrical problem on the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq?

It's a documented issue but not catastrophic. 4 complaints have been filed. Repairs average $850 and most owners catch it before it causes a breakdown.

At what mileage does the electrical typically fail?

Mileage data is limited for this issue. Owners report failures across a wide range, suggesting cause is more about driving conditions and maintenance than mileage alone.

What does it cost to fix?

Independent shops typically charge around $850 for electrical repairs on this vehicle. Dealer pricing tends to run 20-40% higher. The exact figure depends on the specific failure mode, parts availability, and your local labor rates. If you're outside factory warranty, an extended service contract often covers this category.

Are there any recalls related to electrical?

No active recalls currently cover electrical issues on this vehicle. The complaints filed represent owner-reported failures that haven't risen to the level of a manufacturer-issued recall — but they're still worth knowing about before you buy or budget for repairs.
