2025 Genesis GV80 owner complaints

The Forward Attention Warning system has many false readings (sun, glasses, looking to the right of the wheel at the other autos visible out of the right side of the windshield). When activating the FAW alarm it immediately shuts off lane assistance and adaptive causing rapid deceleration. 3 times when it did this it slows so rapidly that cars behind have to swerve to miss making contact. One time a slight contact was made. There is not a way to disengage it, even when following genesis instructions to "turn it off" it remains active. Gensis acknowledged complaints and looking at online forums shows this to be a growing safety problem. There needs to be a disable function for some amount of time, FAW is going to get someone hurt or worse.

The contact owns a 2025 Genesis GV80. The contact stated while driving at various speeds on the highway, the vehicle jerked to the left or to the right, which required the contact to hold the steering wheel tightly for safety. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,300.

I received a safety recall notification in the mail regarding my 2025 Genesis GV80 reference High Pressure Fuel Crossover Pipe which at this time NO REMEDY is AVAILABLE. This matter has to be resolved ASAP due to a safety hazard to me and my family.

I purchased the vehicle on [XXX], signing purchase contract and paying deposit of $10k. Monday 06/08/26, I received a call from dealership that they need to recoup the vehicle due to safety recall, explaining that they shouldn’t have sold it to me. Apparently, the recall was initiated on 03/02/26, and as of today, “Remedy not yet available”. The sales person, dealership or manufacturer, can not tell me if/when a remedy is coming. It’s been 4 months since recall was initiated when no indication when a remedy is a available. How long should it take for remedy be available? The Forward Collision Warning in my GV80 activated unnecessarily, which resulted in the car to break without need / warning, this resulted in the GV80 being hit from behind, the GV80 was pushed forward into another vehicle. The vehicle is unsafe for driving and has remained parked. The Forward Collision Warning activated when it was not needed and caused a rear-end accident which was quite impactful since we were not expecting a collision. The GV80 was inspected by an independent service and could not be proved to be at fault. It was deemed to "operate as designed" in spite of our experience and now even though there is damage to one of the front end sensors from the accident. Specifically, I have experienced a potentially dangerous issue involving the automatic seat-folding mechanism being activated unintentionally. In our vehicle, the button used to move or fold the second-row seat can be easily pressed accidentally—for example, by a child’s knee while entering the vehicle. When this occurs, the seat begins moving automatically without adequately detecting whether the seat is occupied. Twice my 4 year old grandson has had the foldable seats begin to fold while he was sitting in the chair. Once, while in his car seat and once while the car was parked in the garage while he sat in the rear seat. Both times were accidental. The first time he accidentally pushed the button reaching for a toy, the second time his shoe hit the button while he was climbing into the car to sit. Both I had to press the button reverse the folding option as the seat continued to fold despite the resistance from the chair the first time and again the second time as my grandson was seated while the folding rear seat continued to nearly crush him while folding down. On multiple occasions when turning left the emergency breaking system stops and stalls out the car.

i was driving down the freeway and the computer system had a complete reboot randomly. ALL screens went blank and ALL electronic functions were disabled until it came back up about a minute later. No radio, no ADAS features (no collision warning, no blind spot, no lane departure), no gauges to to judge speed. It was a complete distraction. Vehicle appeared to continue to drive but without any safety features. It is unknown if turn signals and day time running lights and air bag functions were disabled. I noticed issued after they applied an update for Android Auto with the maps not showing in the display even tho voice instructions came through the car. It was either a system update that should have never happened while the vehicle is in use, or I suspect an issue with Android Auto

The contact depressed the brake pedal and was able to turn back in the intended direction. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was advised that the failure could not be replicated. I was driving at 65 mph (legal speed limit on Express Lanes) and entire front console went black. I was on Bluetooth call which dropped. I could not see speedometer or any of the gauges on the dashboard and could not see any of the radio/entertainment options. Everything was jet black. I pulled over at the first exit, turned off the engine and restarted the car. The services slowly reloaded and were restored. The next day the console began to blink but did not go out entirely. I went to the closest Genesis dealership and spoke to a technician. She said that other Genesis models are having similar issues and this has triggered a safety recall. Had Recall 031G completed on 01/20/2026. Bluetooth continues to glitch and infotainment system continues to restart and go black while driving leaving driver without key information to operate vehicle posing a crash risk

I exited the car, the car door was shutting, however, not all the way shut. My thumb was between the door and the body of the car at which point the soft close feature engaged, shutting my thumb in the door all the way and squeezing shut. No warning signals. Finger is badly bruised and swollen. No inspections have been done.

The contact stated that while operating the vehicle with the cruise control activated, the cruise control erroneously deactivated, causing the vehicle to suddenly decelerate. The vehicle was taken the local dealer who was unable to confirm that a failure had occurred. The contact was informed that the vehicle operated normally, due to the "Driver Attention Warning System". The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact stated that the manufacturer had issued a TSB regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 200.

Genesis has known about the issue with the crossover pipe in the engine compartment since July 2024 and just recently notified me by mail regarding the recall. They have no anticipated resolution date.

I was driving a 2025 Genesis GV80 loaner vehicle at approximately 65-70mph when I began to hear a loud noise and feel shaking consistent with a tire issue. A tire pressure warning appeared on the dashboard. I immediately slowed down and attempted to safely move to the shoulder of the road. While trying to pull over, the vehicles lane keeping assist appeared to resist my steering input, making it difficult to move fully onto the shoulder. I was focused on safely exiting the roadway die to what I believed was failing tire. Trying to reach the shoulder area, the tire suddenly blew out. The vehicle lost control, spun, and we were involved in a head-on collision with a semi-truck. My family and I are fortunate to be alive.
