Is there a fix? Manufacturer service bulletins

The manufacturer has issued service bulletins covering brakes on this vehicle — documented repair instructions, service campaigns, or warranty extensions sent to dealers. A TSB isn't a recall (it's not a free safety remedy), but it's the manufacturer acknowledging the issue and how to fix it.

Service Bulletin SA-029-26 Apr 2026

This Service Alert supersedes the previously issued SA listed below: The changes are noted in Red. SA-011/24 02/12/24, 06/06/24, 07/29/24 DESCRIPTION Mazda has developed factory recommended scheduled maintenance services that support all major vehicle systems. Mazda recommends dealers follow the scheduled maintenance tables as cited in the vehicle-specific workshop manual or owner's manual. Services performed outside of Mazda's factory scheduled maintenance are not recommended. These services are unnecessary and create unneeded expenses for your customers. SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE Refer to the applicable Workshop Manual or Owner's Manual for vehicle -specific manufacturer scheduled maintenance.

This bulletin supersedes the previously issued bulletin(s) listed below. The changes are noted in Red. 04-001/25 02/06/25 Some vehicles may experience the front inner brake pads wear out faster than the outside. This accelerated pad wear may be caused by dirt and sand easily adhering to the inner friction surface of the disc while driving. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the dust cover and the front brake pad chamfer shape have been changed.

If you encounter a customer complaint for any one of these symptoms, refer to the following information to understand why symptoms may occur, and to better assist the customer in resolving their specific brake concern. NOTE: Before following this Service Alert repair procedure, ensure published TSBs in MGSS have been completed per model year.

Service Bulletin 04-002-25 Jul 2025

Some vehicles may exhibit a clunk noise from the rear brakes when starting to drive. This may be caused by the brake pads and the rear disc plates sticking together when the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) is engaged for an extended period while parked. Even after releasing the EPB, the adhesion remains. When the vehicle starts driving in this condition, the initial torque causes the brake pads to detach from the rotors, and the resulting impact is transmitted through the brake system to the vehicle body, resulting in a clunk noise. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the rear brake disc pads has been modified to increase the rigidity and reduce the impact force.

When using adaptive cruise control, during SOME cornering, SOMETIMES the car brakes unexpectedly, very aggressively, without warning. Very dangerous, especially when another car is behind you.

I previously reported the auto breaking system would slam on breaks prematurely. Now it was a factor in an accident where the Mazda CX-50 was rear-ended by a Ram 2500 truck at full speed on the highway. Car is incompaitated and I have suffered injuries.

When approaching cars at an intersection, the brake warning does not give any warning, but the cars brake, lock up, and throw me and anything in the seat flying into the floor or side compartment. It was not even necessary to stop that quickly. Totally random and could cause an accident.
