2025 RAM 3500 owner complaints

2025 ram 3500 dual rear wheel truck has intermittent anti lock brake failure . As well as traction control, forward collision warning/assist, lane departure, high beam headlights, and other safety systems. The dealership has tried to fix these issues 8 or more times, with no success. It is illegal for Ram and Stellantis to put customers back into vehicles with anti lock brake failures. In wet/slick/or hard braking situations, loss of anti lock brakes is dangerous to my family as well as other drivers on the roads. And that danger increases when towing a large trailer when the failure happens. The dealership and Stellantis/Ram know of these problems with 2025-26 dual rear wheel Ram pickups.

The contact owns a 2025 Ram 3500. The contact stated that the front passenger's side, rear passenger's side, and driver's side seat belt reminder (SBR) system was inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where a third-party engineer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the vehicle was only designed with a front driver's seat belt reminder (SBR). The manufacturer later informed the contact that Ram engineers had confirmed that the vehicle was operating as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 18.

When driving the Anti lock brakes, cruise control, front and rear collision warning system, automatic emergency breaking system and lane keeping system are disabled. All of these alerts are displayed on the display cluster. All of these systems are disabled at the same time. I was told by the dealership that this is caused by a faulty Wheel Speed Sensor. The Wheel Speed Sensors have been replaced 3 times and have not fixed this problem. This has happened when towing a 14,000lbs trailer and the stability of the truck and load are compromised when breaking with a load.

The 2025 and 2026 dually 3500 Ram trucks with the 12" AAM rear axle are having issues with the rear wheel speed sensors (different sensor for each side). They apparently fail or are not able to properly communicate to the computer. When this happens, the following are disabled: -ABS -Auto Emergency Braking -4x4 -Electronic Stability Control -Cruise Sometimes, the engine won't shut off. The gauge cluster will state it can't detect which position the transmission is in. So, you cannot shift, and you can't shut the truck off, and you can't drive. You are stuck in place with a running engine. Despite Stellantis releasing a new revision of wheel speed sensors (AB revision), they have failed in less than 2,000 miles on my truck. Many, many dually owners are experiencing these failures.

I have been submitting reports to you for several months with no resolution. The truck yet again experienced the same problem, twice, within 1 week. It would start but then claim that it couldn't detect what gear it was in and said "can't shut off until transmission is in park". After cutting electrical power to get it to shut off, it would not start. After getting it started, it would not go into gear. Once I got the engine running and transmission to go into gear, it no longer had ABS.

3 times to date (10,000 miles/8 months) I have failing abs speed sensors. If I stop moving when all lights come on dash the truck is in operational. I cannot shift gears, put in park or turn engine off. Loose traction control, ads, 4wd, stabiltrac, speedometer. All assitive and braking functions. Code U1412. Dealer replaces speed sensors but problem returns.

There have been a couple of instances where the running boards haven’t deployed when the door has been opened. The most recent caused my 10yr old to FALL OUT IF THE TRUCK and get injured. I believe the combination that is causing it is to get in the truck, hit acc and get I’ll all windows down. Then turn off the acc and stay seated in the truck for some time. Then open the door from inside and they don’t deploy…

My ram truck will intermittently have a Christmas tree of warning lights on the instrument cluster, which occur while driving. During these periods, I do not have access to four-wheel-drive, accident avoidance, antilock brakes, etc. If I continue driving the truck for the remainder of the day, the lights will usually go off, but will be stored in the vehicles PCM. the dealership has previously evaluated this and reports that they cannot fix or evaluate the vehicle because there is not an active warning light when I bring it to the dealership. However, when these lights occur, I could be towing a heavy trailer and have no access to the truck safety systems until the lights correct itself. This has occurred more than once. The truck had about 7400 miles on it. It gave a warning that the DPF was near full and take it to dealer, about 20 minutes late it said DPF full power reduced. Two days later it cleared that code and began flashing the turn signal intermittently and giving warnings that the trailer brakes were not working, then that the tailgate was down. Shortly after that the instrument cluster went completely blank. I was driving it to the dealer when it ran out of fuel and forced me to stop on the highway. The vehicle has been at the dealer for almost 4 months now. When they replaced the dash cluster it would take too long to start. They replaced multiple modules and I believe three dash clusters before declaring it repaired. I picked it up for a test drive and the frontal collision warning came

Recall 26V-059 Brake lights and brakes don’t work sometimes. Dealer has no parts. Will not tell me when parts are coming. This is a serious issue and I need it fixed. It should not take this long.

While driving with a trailer after leaving a jobsite in [XXX] , the vehicle experienced a sudden electrical failure while in motion. The instrument cluster/speedometer screen went completely black and the vehicle lights stopped functioning properly while driving at night. During the incident, we lost the speedometer display and visibility from the vehicle lighting system, creating a serious safety hazard while towing a trailer on public roads. Because of the electrical failure, we were forced to pull off on the side of the road to avoid a potentially dangerous situation. After shutting the truck down and waiting approximately one hour, the vehicle was restarted and the systems eventually began functioning again. Bad wheel speed sensor which disables ABS, cruise control, and all the ADAS systems. Vehicle has been to dealer 5 times for this in less than 8 months. Stellantis takes over a month to replace the part. Vehicle also will not shut off and/or be able to move while this happens.

I have experienced two major issues. The dash cluster went blank. Not able to see any of the gauges. Vehicle ran, drove. Turned the truck on and off. Opening & closing the door to power off the truck. 15+/- minutes for the dash to return to normal. Supposedly an update to the program is pending. Second and major issue; while backing up, the truck came to a stop by itself, blocking an intersection. I was not able to place the truck in any gear. Warning light notified me that the truck was not in park. We were unable to push the truck out of the intersection. Brand new truck (497 miles) while driving on freeway at 70 mph, truck kicked out of cruise control and threw traction control, adaptive cruise control, 4wd, check engine, and anti lock brakes disabled fault lights and codes. The vehicle will disable all these safety features for 30-50 miles, and then the faults will randomly disappear except for the check engine light. This has happened 10-12 times. This truck has had 4-5 “ram cares” case numbers, has been at the dealership for over a month combined. The faulty part supposedly is a right rear wheel speed sensor on the 12” dually axles. Digital Rearview Mirror has changed from being clear to being cloudy and bright (white) making it impossible to see.

Upon start up of the vehicle multiple warning codes appear; ABS turned off, 4 wheel drive temporarily disabled, Stability turned off, front and rear parking sensors disabled, Cruise Control disabled (in all forms). If vehicle is put into drive, or issue happens when the vehicle is already in drive; Unable to detect selected gear (switching from Drive/Reverse into Park) which results in not being able to turn the vehicle off.

The contact owns a 2025 Ram 3500. The contact stated that shortly after purchasing the vehicle brand new and filling the fuel tank on December 3, 2025, the DEF depth gauge failed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the module was reprogrammed and the physical gauge was replaced. However, the contact obtained internal service notes revealing that the urea pump, the DEF tank, the urea tank wiring harness, the DEF injector, and the fluid had actually been replaced due to an active fuel leak within the DEF system. On March 31, 2026, the vehicle was taken back to the dealer to address a malfunctioning digital rearview mirror. Ton of warning lights can on like abs, traction control and some other sensors. When put in Drive the D flashed and try k would not move. Put back in park would not recognize it was in park and would not shut off. The only way to shut off the truck with disconnect both batteries and pull the fuse for the fuel pump.

From the first day i bought the truck i noticed it had a very tight vibration coming from the rear. I thought its may just be the Firestone tires that were put on at the factory. I had to drive out of state to a small town in Nevada. After around 3500 miles the vibration became severe and felt like i had a tire seperating. I called the nearest tire centers/shops within about 100 miles of my location. None carried the firestone transforce tires. So i traveled to the Nearest shop around 60 miles and the certified tech and managed assisted me. The did an inspection and found the tire was scalloped and damaged.
