I've had plenty of Lincoln in the bay over the years, and the fuel-system complaints on these don't surprise me. 50 on the NHTSA record across 10 model-year entries (2005–2022) is not a fluke. The 2007 Lincoln MKX is carrying most of the weight on this category — about 30% of every fuel-system complaint filed against Lincoln comes from that one truck. The pattern shows up across the lineup, but that year-model is where it concentrates. 2 crash reports on file. Not a high count, but the failure mode has put owners in the position to file. Average shop fix runs about $1,200 — not catastrophic, but it adds up over time. Check the fuel pump access cover for prior work. A vehicle on this list that already had a pump replacement is a vehicle to consider — the work is done.
