In july, the rear glass window fell out (part of the glass is still attached) while driving the vehicle on a street. Unknown to me, this issue was a common problem on the 2005 model (the glass adhesive failed). Although Chrysler extended the warranty on the top for 10 years, the warranty covers only cars purchase with specific vins. Unfortunately, my car was not covered or I was not notified. , the window repair (actually a top replacement) is not covered under warranty. I have proped up the window so I can drive the car, the alturnitive is to a new top. For about $2,000

Rear window failure -- adhesive fails & rear window falls out. The failure of any window is not normal "wear and tear." many of these cars have experienced the same failure over the years. Chrysler finally -- after years of complaints -- issued a service bulletin #23-03511reva in 2011 that, according to Chrysler, covers only vehicles delivered in nine southeastern states. It extends warranty coverage to ten years (which means Chrysler will replace the convertible tops under warranty). All these cars were built in belgium. Chrysler had trouble selling these vehicles so it auctioned some vehicles internally to its dealer network, who were then permitted to get whatever they could for brand new "used" cars. Mine went to a Dodge dealer in farmville va and was sold to me (via ebay) w

The rear window glass is coming out of the convertible top on my 2005 Chrysler crossfire. There was less than 40,000 miles on the car when it started. Went to the dealer to get it looked at and was told that Chrysler would not cover it and that my extended warranty did not cover it. This seems to be a common problem on this model car from what I have been reading on the web. With all I have been reading I would think that Chrysler should be responsible and fix this issue. *tr

In late august, the rear glass window fell out (part of the glass is still attached) while driving the vehicle on a city street. Unknown to us, this issue was a common problem on the 2005 model (the glass adhesive failed). Although Chrysler extended the warranty on the top for 10 years, the warranty covers only cars purchase in 10 select states. Unfortunately, our car was not purchased in one of those states. Thus, the window repair (actually a top replacement) is not covered under warranty. Chrysler refused to fix the top. Ended up taking the car to a local upholstery shop to have a plastic window 'sown' into the top so that we could continue to drive the vehicle. This repair was more affordable than the cost of an entire new top (almost $2,000). The plastic window replacement cost $500.0

The back glass adhesive on the convertible soft top on my 2005 Chrysler crossfire roadster is failing on the drivers side almost 3 inches across top and bottom, causing the glass to separate from the fabric top. This adhesive is the only support for the window to the fabric top. The window/top connection currently does not provide a waterproof seal and allows water to enter the vehicle. This presents a safety hazard when the adhesive fails completely and the glass falls out on a roadway or turns into a projectile inside the car while driving. Very costly to the consumer to repair should be recalled as it looks like there are many others with the same problem. *kb

Car wouldn't start several times since purchase. The battery was fully charged, took it to a Chrysler dealer who "cleaned up some grounds". The lights, stereo, etc worked but the motor didn't even make a sound when trying to start. One time when it did start I was making a turn when the car completely died...I didn't realize it at first because the heater, radio, panel were all lit up and working. I was very lucky to be able to make it safely to the side of the road. Had to have the car towed back to the garage. When they started working on it, the panel behind the glove box started smoking. I now have a very nice, useless little car with only 50,000 miles on it because #Chrysler can't fix it for me. *tr

I was driving on street in my home town about 30 MPH and engine dies and does not start. I walk to a store came back in 15 -20 minutes care started back again. Drove abut 6 mile very close to my house car died on street again. I checked on cross fire forum other crossfire owner has same issue. Crank shaft sensor and sensor connector wire is not connected properly to the computer board. When engine gets hot connector wire gets loose and shut the engine down it happened three time in last two weeks I am afraid to drive because it dies all the sudden while driving now it is seating in my garage. *tr

My2005 crossfire roadster convertible just stopped running twice while driving on a very busy road! The first time I was stopped at a light when the car died. I had no power and the car would not restart. As the light had now turned green every car in every lane started to move forward. Of course the person behind me started beeping and screaming! I got out of the car (very dangerous) and started to push the car over several lanes to the shoulder of the road. Two men jumped out and helped me push it to a side road off the main road. Cars were now flying past us going at least 45 to 50 MPH. My car was towed to my home Chrysler dealership and after 3 days the mechanic replaced the engine relay control module which had an internal failure. The car ran fine for 9 months when the same thing ha

2005 Chrysler crossfire limited, 13, 800 miles. Stops running while driving/won't start up after stopping. This has happened a total of 6 times. 1st time vehicle restarted after 20 min. Dealer repair service said wait to see if happens again, maybe the theft mode kicked in for some reason. 2nd time I stopped for gas, car wouldn't start. Like you weren't pushing in clutch but you were. Towed to dealer. Replaced clutch switch. 3rd time driving at 50 MPH, car just shut completely shut off. Engine and all. Felt like hitting a brick wall. Almost hit by several vehicle including tour bus at time it happen. Vehicle towed. Dealer put in processing sensor. 4th time was slowing down for red light, vehicle shut down completely again. Towed. Dealer put new computer in it. 5th time. Stopped at bank. L

I came outside to find that the rear window of the convertible top had come loose and was laying on the rear deck being held to the fabric in 1 small place. The car had been parked outside for 1 day. Luckily it didn't fall out while I was driving, potentially shattering the glass near my head. Until the car is repaired it is unusable in foul weather due to water running in the passenger compartment.

The "clear" cover over the projection headlights assembly and yellow signal light has become severely clouded/faded particularly on the upper half of the cover. The signal light is becoming obscured behind the cloudiness. The car has very little mileage and the defect is not the result of road debris damage (rocks/sand). No repair was made because the dealer blames the manufacturer for denying claim, and the manufacturer says it is up to the dealer to perform the work and place a claim. I believe it to be a defective product because I have compared the lens on my car to other vehicles of the same make and model (some of which were older and had much more mileage) and yet are in better condition than the one on my car. *tr

Vandalism to convertible top, slashed. Convertible top needs to be replaced, replacing top by manufacture will take until at least january 29, 2010 from october. This is hazardous due to driving with a slashed top creates a major noise distraction as well as inclement weather problems such as snow and rain distracts driver and may somewhat impair vision etc. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 Chrysler crossfire. While driving approximately 50 MPH on normal road conditions, the vehicle hesitated when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The RPM's revved and then decreased, followed by the engine stalling. The warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel prior to the stalling. The vehicle failed to restart after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer eight times for diagnostic testing, but they were unable to duplicate the failure. The wiring was adjusted within the computerized system. The manufacturer was notified of the failures, but there were no resolutions. The vehicle is currently inoperable and has not been repaired. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 58,556 and current mileage was 69,650.

On this date a second transmission failure was in progress where the transmission would not shift properly into gear. This incident happened on a trip to see a relative in poor health and along with defective wheel bolts that caused the passenger front wheel to become separated from the vehicle, left me stranded. This was not the first time the transmission had been giving me troubles and has failed along with numerous large leaks noted on separate occasions that the dealership has been unable to repair under the OEM warranty. *jb
