Takata recall. Ford sent a safety recall notice dated december 2017, in regards to a passenger side airbag inflator: 16s26. In this letter, Ford tells me there will be no parts available until at a minimum of spring 2018, and word for Ford: "warning: until remedy parts become available, do not allow anyone to sit in the first row passenger seat. The air bag could rupture during deployment in a crash and cause injuries or death. When the front row passenger seat is not occupied, the passenger air bag will not deploy, eliminating the risk." Ford customer service has stated there are no loaners due to this..just that I cannot have any passengers in my car. I do not feel safe for myself and my family, and find it ridiculous my only option is to not have any passengers. Ford needs to lega
Takata recall -this recall was communicated in july, 2016. Since then, I have contacted my local dealer numerous times. I'm being told that a replacement is not available. In december, 2017, I get another notice saying the airbags are defective and not to allow a passenger in the car. To wait over a year and still no resolution to the defect is unacceptable!

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Ford mustang. The contact stated that none of the gauges on the instrument panel were operable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was advised that the instrument cluster needed replacement. In addition, the dealer advised that the stepper motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage 64,000.
The instrument panel in my 05 mustang has completely failed. In 2008, the gauges would become erratic at times. (tach, speedometer, etc) this has become more problematic over the last couple of years usually only occurring in colder weather. At this point, the gauges have completely failed. Case in point: during the summer of 2011 the car "actually" overheated due to a cracked thermostat housing and the gauge never displayed the issue before the failure. We were fortunate to have picked up on the issue (while driving the car at highway speed) before a fire or other unfortunate event occurred.... Or before the car was permanently damaged. When I've consulted with the local Ford dealer ship, (cookeville, tn) they act as if this the instrument panel failure is something new. This issue
While driving in light rain, I experienced a total failure of my electrical system, including headlights, door locks, interior lights, radio, trunk release, etc. At that point, all warning indicators lit up on dash. I pulled over, put the car in "park" only to discover that, while the electrical issues continued, I couldn't get the car out of "park". After ~ 10 minutes the electric systems came back online, but the "check engine" light remained on. After taking the car to the dealership, I was told the problem was a water leak. There are numerous posts about this issue online, but the dealership claimed to have never heard of it before and refused to fix it free of charge, despite the fact that it's a manufacturer's defect. This could cause a serious problem if the problem occurs whi
I have a 2005 mustang gt that when temperature drops below 50 my speedometer will stay at different speeds when I am at 0. Sometimes 40 70 when I am stopped. When you turn off key restart car it will usually drop gauge 5 to 10 MPH. I have been reading online of numerous gauge failures on this year model. Sometimes my gas gauge will not work properly. *tr
There is an apparent design flaw in 2005 mustangs as I have read hundreds of similar complaints as to what I am experiencing. Due to this design flaw after a recent day of heavy rain 1 headlight and 1 signal light will not turn off once the car has been shut off. I researched and apparently the smart junction box (sjb) got wet and the electrical unit is now malfunctioning. There was also a strong burning smell when I got home that night as well. Spoke with an online mechanic technician and he confirmed that the sjb needs to be replaced. There has been a long history of the car leaking on the passenger side whenever it rains due to the design flaw. Also my gas gauge never reads properly, inside lights are also dim/off and the check engine light has been going on and off for nearly a y

Filling gas tank is a nightmare, the first batch of the newly remodeled vehicle. When filling it it'll pump for 3 seconds and then click off and shoot gas out because it thinks it's full so you have to click it on the lowest possible setting. It's a 16 gallon tank and if it's completely empty the first eight gallons will pump fine anything over that because of the way the tank is shaped is where the airlock is and that's when you can barely touch the gas lever before it clicks off and shoots gas up It takes me 20 minutes to fill up so anything before the half a tank mark will fill normally but once it's over half a tank is when the problem arises. From all of the forums that I've looked at for this new remodeled 2005 year this was a common problem and the mustangs built for the first 6 mon

When stopped suddenly the car will remain idle for about 30 seconds before it will kick back into gear. When this happens, car will roll backwards in drive. If you try to press the gas to force the car to move it will stall completely. Car has been doing it since 2007. Ford dealership could not find anything wrong with it. Car currently has 44,000 miles on it. Also gas, temp and speedometer gauges have started going crazy the last three weeks. *tr

2005 Ford mustang gt purchased december of 2004. It has leaked continually on the passenger side every time it rains. The gem module has been soaked every time. Tail lights malfunction and I no longer have windshield wipers that work, so I cannot drive in the rain. The carpet has been replaced by my insurance company but Ford refuses to do anything about these leaks and the damage done to the electrical system. *tr

Design of the cabin air intake box and drain LED to a back flow of water during a heavy downpour. This LED to water flowing through the air ducts and into the passenger compartment behind the glove box. Ford placed 4"x6" piece of foam over the smart junction box in an effort to "bandage the problem, rather than correcting the cause. As water entered the cabin area, it soaked the smart junction box to fail which may have been the proximate cause for the engine dying. End result is that the smart junction box must be replaced and programmed. *kb

Took car in for safety inspection, and I was told that the lower arm controls needed to be replaced in order for the car to pass inspection, the car only had 24,244 miles and I found out on line that there was a recall to replace them but according to the Ford rep my VIN # was not in the recall. *tr
fuel system 1 complaint shown
Difficulty in filling fuel tank. I have had this problem from the time I purchased vehicle, to present. Vehicle is 2005 mustang gt and has over 5000 miles on it. Basically, approx. Every other time I try to fill fuel tank, one of two things happens: (1) fuel nozzle will almost immediately shut off- as if tank is already full. After multiple attempts (waiting, experimenting with angle and/or depth of nozzle insertion) I can almost always get fuel to start flowing into the tank. That's when symptom (2) can happen (again, roughly half of time I pull into station). At about the point when tank is half full, the nozzle will stop filling (as if tank is full) and will refuse to take anymore gas no matter what I do. I have experimented with different gas stations, and even with different pumps at
