Fuel guage doesn't show amount of gas in tank. I put gas often as possible even though at times it doesn't needs much. The odometer function on and one doesn't know what mileage on vehicle. . Engine light comes on even when all check shows vehicle service is ok caused from computer malfunctions.

Consumer complaint regarding Nissan quest recall for seat mechanism. *ts the consumer stated the dealer failed to disclose the recall. The manufacturer will not correct the problem until december 2005. The consumer stated the vehicle should have been repaired before it was sold. The sound through the dvd was full of static. *jb

The 2005 Nissan quest had a recall that prevented injury when folding down the middle seats. The NHTSA campaign numbers were 05v474000 and 05v480000. After having this recall performed on my vehicle, it is now almost impossible to attach a child restraint tether to the tether anchor point. I believe that the fix for this recall has caused an even more serious safety problem than the one it attempted to fix. *nm
I own a 2005 Nissan quest minivan. The 2 seats in the middle of the van have curtains on the all around the bottom of the seat. These are constantly coming undone and spread out on the floorboard of the van. They are a tripping hazard and my daughter has tripped over them and fallen out of the van and landed on concrete. According to the dealer, the only recall is on the seats in the rear which they have repaired. I was informed to contact Nissan directly and they just referred me back to a dealer (the run-around!!)these curtains do not stay put and someone needs to fix them permanently before some child is seriously hurt. *nm

The transmission on my 2005 Nissan quest went out while on vacation in north carolina from out of state in june of 2015. Just replaced the timing chain today 12/16/15 am losing faith on nissans reliability.
5-speed automatic transmission, when shift lever is moved into the drive position there is a hesitation and then the transmission engages into drive with a hard bang. The transmission also emits a low volume whine when the car is in motion. *tr
When the transmission is in drive, there is almost no power. I pulled into a car dealership to look at some used cars. The van's engine was running and the transmission was in park. When I put the transmission back in drive and pressed the accelerator, we moved forward very slowly. Low and over drive were no better, but reverse seemed fine. Forward gears have very little power.

Outer rear seat belts do not work properly. There is stitching in the seat belt that does not allow the clasp to move freely. The clasp gets stuck below the stitching and it gets stuck above the stitching. I child cannot work the seat belt properly. Once the clasp is below the stitching will it work properly in an accident? *nm
Front driver's side seat belt failed to stay fastened. The belt plate popped back out of the buckle when fastened. There wasn't anything jammed in the buckle. Dealer will be contacted. *ak

While driving the instrument panel goes in and out making it difficult to see speed, fuel level, temp, turning signals, rpms, and everything else necessary to drive safely. Sometimes while the panel comes back to working properly it enables the overdrive causing the engine to jolt while driving. During research I found there are too many complaints from other people that are experiencing the same issue and dealers quoting them in the 700- thousands of dollars to fix, this should be a recall and a free repair as this is a safety issue and it's affecting too many vehicles.
The odometer just stop displaying the mileage, temp and fuel. After about 10 months the stereo stop working, when I looked around in the internet I noticed that many owners of the quest were having that problem , the console has the radio and odometer integrated. *tr

Purchased vehicle on april 30, 2005, have had vehicle back at dealership 7 times due to the sunglass container leaking on the console when it rains. Dealership has re-sealed windshield and this only made the problem worse. Taking vehicle back for a second time to have the windshield re-sealed. Attorney has been contacted regarding the procedure for the lemon law. *jb

Intermittent compressor & ac/ HVAC system failure, while driving with ac on air will turn warm for some time and then get cold, sometimes can hear the compressor turn on and off. Dealer will not fix, as they state that they can not replicate the problem, service tech says oh it is a poor design and is supposed to cycle warm air. *jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Nissan quest. The contact stated that she would hear a cracking noise whenever she turned the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they were unable to diagnose the failure. The failure continued. The vehicle was eventually taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the front control arms needed to be replaced. The contact was also informed that both tie rod ends needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,000.

The alignment adjustment bolt, the bolt that goes through the unibody, broke and dropped the a-arm section that holds the back passenger tire, onto the highway. I had three tires going straight and the back passenger tire turned in at 65 MPH on the highway with sparks and swerving into the oncoming lane. We were able to regain control of the van and get it to the shoulder. For a moment we thought the van might roll. Our mechanic stated he has never seen anything like this before. This is a 2005 Nissan quest with 65,000 and I maintenance it regularly. A very serious safety concern. This could have been a fatality. *tr

This morning when I drove my 2005 Nissan quest van in my garage I immediately smelled something burning. I looked to the rear of the van and saw black smoke coming from around the taillight housing. I immediately backed the van out of the garage. Suddenly flames came from the bottom of the taillight housing. By the time I could grab a fire extinguisher a hole approx. 6" in diameter had burned through and melted part of the taillight housing and the rear bumper fascia. I will contact my dealer tomorrow morning to have a tow truck sent to my house to pick the van up and have it repaired. *tr

I had pulled into a parking space and stopped fully. The van was still in drive and suddenly the engine accelerated while my foot was till on the brake. I grabbed the shift lever and put it in neutral and the engine raced at very high RPM until I was able to grab the ignition key and turn it off. I restarted it and it seemed normal so I drove home and parked it. *tr

Dt: the contact states that the 2005 Nissan quest has tires that feathered on the inside edge of all four tires. The tires have been balanced and rotated every 5,000 miles. The tires stayed at the right pressure, which was 35 pounds. The tires started showing signs of feathering around 10,000 miles. The tires were the original ones that came on the van. The tires needed to be replaced at 16,000 miles. The contact has been in contact with goodyear and Nissan. The van has been in alignment the whole time that the contact owned the van. She stated that goodyear said that one of the tires was out of alignment by .011. Goodyear was the only one who found any problem with the alignment. The representative from Nissan has checked the alignment and the tires were within the specs. The dama
