2006 Chevrolet Uplander owner complaints

The 2005 Chevrolet uplander van I purchased makes a bad growling/friction noise origiinating from the rear drivetrain/wheel area when making left turns. There is approx. 22,000 miles on the van and still is under warranty. I will be taking it to a cherolet dealer to have inspection/repairs made.

Less than 150,00 miles we needed a brake job done on our van and was told by the repair shop and I quote"the vehicle is so rotted and needs to be junked.the brakes are not unsafe. It seems to me that my 1995 Chevy c1500 would have fallen apart a long time ago. I have over 250,000 miles on it

2006 Chevy uplander,problems occurring since we purchased- intermittent starting, starting then stalling, smells like sulfur and there's a clunking in the front. Recent problems- voltage is varying causing lights to dim and brighten. *tr

Exterior and interior lights as well as the blower fan lose power which makes the lights dim and the blower slow down. Dealer installed a capacitor and positive battery cable shielding as per their bulletin, but this did not correct the problem. I don't believe this should be considered a normal characteristic as I have been told by the service manager on several occasions. I am afraid that one day it will totally lose power. *tr

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle doors unlocked while driving various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the service dealer, who was not able to duplicate the problem.

My vehicle is making a sound that varies could be suspension but it sounds like grinding and or howling mostly while braking or increased speed

I was driving my uplander when the vehicle jerked to the left. It resulted in my driving over a concrete median and causing $4000.00 of damage to vehicle. I did not realize until I picked the van up from repair that this may possibly not be my fault. Driving home on the day I picked the van up from repair, the van again jerked to the left and I almost had another wreck. I have owned the van since june and have not had this problem, however, I have had the van in the shop for numerous other complaints, such as the power doors malfunctioning, a shake in the front end, loud clunking noise when accelerating uphill, squeak in the steering. I am now very concerned about the safety of this van. *nm

The dealer stated that there was no remedy for the failure. They further stated that the vehicle could run out of gasoline while driving downhill and then shut off. After adding more gasoline, the vehicle started. That vehicle continued to stall when it is parked on an incline. The dealer stated that is due to way the car is designed and advised her not to park on an incline. A complaint was filed with the manufacturer. The contact stated that whenever the vehicle was parked on an incline, the fuel level indicator would display that the fuel tank was empty and the vehicle would not start. In addition, the brakes were worn prematurely, the ABS warning light would illuminate intermittently, both driver and passenger sliding doors were malfunctioned and the headlights would fail intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times in regards to the failure but to no avail. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 60,000.

I have had the same problems with my 2006 uplander that owners are complaining about. It would help if whenever someone had a solution for their problems they would post whatever it took to correct the problem. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet uplander equipped with goodyear assurance tires, size p225/60r17. The contact stated that 3/4 of the tire sidewalls collapsed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that there were pinholes in the tire sidewalls. The tires were replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Air bags failed to deploy when a dump truck driver ran a red light on the highway at 50+MPH without hitting his breaks at all. I was at the intersecting light that was green so I had just started to pull into the intersection to cross over the highway.the front driver's side quarter panel is smashed to the motor, hood ripped off and mangled. The dump truck spun us 180 degree's and drove up over the front windshield. Myself in the driver's seat, my fianc in the front passenger seat and our 5 year old daughter in her car seat in the driver's side bucket seat all wearing seatbelts all sustained head injuries and not one single air bag deployed in my vehicle.

At approximately 40,000 miles, had the drivers safety belt replaced under warranty because the no-seat belt alarm/light kept coming on while driving with the seat belt on and properly placed. At 65,000 miles, same issue is occurring again. *tr

My traction control light has been staying on sometimes the van accelerates on its own and service stability light comes on. Too the brakes have a grinding catch in brake pedal when pushing it when going down my driveway. Also the van has hesitation on starting you have to give it gas to start. These problems happen while youre driving. I just had a new transmission put in, but these problems started before my transmission went out.
