Car stalls after fueling rendering all power assisted features useless..ie: power steering & power brakes. Wife and kids almost rear ended in normal traffic and t-boned when turning left in intersection!!!!!!! Please help!!!!!! *tr
Vehicle stalled shortly after refueling when beginning to accelerate after having been stopped at intersection. This problem continued to occur regularly after refueling. It occurred both when the vehicle is stopped and also while in motion. Restarting the vehicle was sometimes difficult. Once restarted the vehicle frequently surged while driving for several minutes of operation until returning to normal. This problem and its associated symptoms should be considered as a safety risk. As of april 2013, I no longer own this vehicle. My wife presently experiences this problem with her 2006 Dodge magnum srt-8 with the 6.1l engine. She has also filed a vehicle safety complaint. *tr

Filled up fuel tank, started running rough right afterwards, stalling out when pulling up to stop light, cleared up after driving for awhile, only happens when I fill up, will not happen if I don't completely fill fuel tank. *tr
When vehicle fuel tank is filled with gasoline, car will stall and cut out and run very rough. Car has stalled several times when pulling out in traffic and is a safety concern for my wife and family when traveling in this car. Vehicle has started doing this every time the fuel tank is filled. Was told not to overfill tank and I do not overfill it. Have read that the only fix is replacing the fuel tank because of a faulty valve(?), which is a very expensive repair. *tr
After fueling car to near the full mark I was attempting to enter the traffic flow on interstate 75 at ocala. The car lost power and the engine died ( no power brakes or steering) attempted to restart car in neutral while attempting to maintain control of car. Traffic was running 70mph and I was merging into the traffic flow. The car would not restart acting as if flooded. Luckily I was driving and not my wife who has muscular dystrophy as she would not have been able to control the car. My research indicates the problem is known by Dodge and is related to a purge vent valve in the fuel tank. It seems the velvet sticks open and allows gas , not just the fumes to be recirculated to the throttle body (intake) and floods the engine. Dodge states this problem can affect all Dodge charger, magn

With all of the takata airbag recalls for these vehicles for front airbags, what about the side curtain airbags that some models like mine were equipped with as a factory option? Are those airbag inflators also need to be replaced?

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 Dodge magnum. While driving approximately 50 MPH, the temperature gauge stopped working and the oil light illuminated. The vehicle shut off completely and had to be towed to the dealer. The technicians stated the vehicle had overheated; the engine was damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated they would return the call but had not done so. The approximate failure mileage was 138,000.
I had just picked up the car in question after purchasing at a used car lot then drove it about 20 miles before I stopped for fuel at which time I filled the tank then as I went to pull out into the lane of traffic and began to pick up speed and at about 30 MPH the car began stuttering then it died. Luckily it started up before the cars coming hit me. I have since filed it up several times before and realized that it was doing the same thing after each time I filled up , I then began doing some searching on the internet and seen that others were having the same issues so that LED me to file this complaint. Can someone please look into this before someone gets seriously hurt? *tr
After refueling my 2006 Dodge magnum stalled repeatedly. Restarting the car was very difficult. Most of the stalling episodes occurred when the car was at a standstill or moving at 5 MPH or less. It also stumbled badly when driving at approximately 50 MPH. One of he stalling episodes left me stranded for a short while in a busy intersection causing a traffic jam and creating a very dangerous situation.
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 Dodge magnum. The engine light began illuminating three months after the vehicle was purchased. The dealer stated that the engine and the oil pump caused the failure and both components were repaired. Currently, the transmission is slipping gears and the vehicle will no longer shift into reverse. The powertrain was unknown. The current mileage was 50,738 and failure mileage was 48,000. Updated 3/7/08 *cn the egine was making a tapping noise.

After fill up, my magnum begins to jerk and stalled in the intersection. The car was unable to start for 3 min.. After starting and stopping for 15 min it began to operate normal.I notice this only happens during fill ups. *tr
Engine light on will not turn off. Comes back on after , dealer turned it off.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Dodge magnum. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled recurringly. The low engine oil warning light would illuminate when the failure occurred however, there was adequate oil in the vehicle. A local mechanic performed a diagnostic but was unable to generate a failure code. The mechanic advised the contact that the failure could have been caused by a fuel system failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 96,000 and the current mileage was 115,000.
powertrain 1 complaint shown
To start this complaint I wanted to first say that my vehicle was parked (not in motion) when this safety issue took place. The issue in question is in regards to recall k39. The transmission gear shift lever interlock return spring hook on my vehicle broke. This broken interlock return spring hook resulted in the inability to move the gear shift lever out of the 'park' position. This in turn left me stranded. Subsequently I took the vehicle to be serviced at the dealership and submitted the resulting reimbursement paperwork to Chrysler. Sadly, the reimbursement was denied b/c Chrysler has not included my VIN in the k39 recall...despite its obvious inclusion. *js
