Transmission failed after 84,000 miles. Transmission shudders between gears at various speeds when accelerating. Reverse also does not engage and appears to exhibit slippage. *kb

During acceleration or deceleration, the steering and transmission shudders between 30 and 45 MPH. When this condition happens, the vehicle becomes difficult to control and can easily become unsafe. While accelerating, the vehicle can shudder and easily shift to one side. This condition has occurred over the past year. It is now happening repeatedly and with increasing severity. I have replaced tires and checked alignment. I have also replaced brakes and turned rotors. The dealer indicated today that the problem is related to the torque converter and transmission. *kb
The car shakes really bad at about 30-35 miles per hour and also hesitates at times. You can feel the van shift very hard also. *tr
I was driving on my way back from cleveland ohio. Noticed a shaking feeling on a transmission shifting gear. I looked it up on the internet and there is a ton of people with the same complaint :( *tr

Have a 2006 Honda odyssey. The third row seat on the right side will not latch reliably to the floor. Sitting on the seat and/or accelerating causes the seat and passenger to flip backwards. The seat latch is on a swinging panel and is too far forward to meet the floor mounted hoop. There doesn't appear to be any way to adjust the latch position.
If side sliding doors are closed electrically they can not be opened unless the transmission is in "park" or "neutral with brake pedal depressed". If an accident occurs where the driver is incapacitated and cannot move the shift lever to the park or neutral position , the doors cannot be opened manually since they are held closed by the electrical assembly which operates them. Even if the driver is not incapacitated he/she must have the presence of mind to move the shift lever to the appropriate position before the sliding doors can be opened. To not have a manual door over ride prevents the rear passengers from emergency egress! I consider this a serious safety defect and should either be corrected or a warning should be plainly visible to the driver to "disable the electrical door sy
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 Honda odyssey. The contact noticed that the front driver seat frame was broken causing the seat to shift while driving. The dealer was notified and the back seat frame was repaired. The contact did not inform the manufacturer. The dealer advised them and provided the contact with a fifty percent discount for the repair. The current mileage was approximately 52,000. The failure mileage was approximately 51,900.

This is a car I just purchased from owner, my report is the soft brake pedal. Having just put on new pads, it didn't make any change in the pedal as it would with most cars? Is there any recall on this car for brakes. I read where many other owned have this same issue.
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 Honda odyssey. While driving approximately 30 MPH and coming to a stop the brake pedal fell to the floor slightly. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The contact stated that he was an independent mechanic and that the master cylinder lost pressure which caused the failure to occur. The contact received a recall notice for repairs of the master cylinder (NHTSA campaign id number: 10v504000 component: service brakes, hydraulic:foundation components:master cylinder) and stated that the repairs should include replacing the master cylinder brake pump. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure was 78,000.
I recently have been hearing my brakes begin to screech whenever I make a left turn or right turn. This occurred at around 25,000 miles. At first I thought the it was the pads being worn out. I had the pads checked and the service people said it was an probably a defect with brake mechanism. *tr

During low temperature driving after vehicle is warm, the power steering whines loudly. We noticed this condition in the early fall as temperatures fell and the noise has gotten progressively worse. The steering pump was previously replaced at approximately 9200 miles. The vehicle is at the local dealership now having the power steering system flushed, reservoir replaced and new synthetic fluid installed. I am concerned that the steering may have failed during operation causing an accident. *tr
While driving 2006 Honda odyssey at highway speed noticeable steering wheel shimmy while accelerating and coasting. Changed wheels tires powersteering pump rotation of tires brake rotors and nothing has changed. All tires were balanced. *kb
A 1500 RPM, a vibration is felt on the steering wheel when moving under load (not coasting). This occurs every time at the engine speed (not at 1200 RPM or 1700 RPM). The dealer service department said that no problem was shown in the computer. I also complained that I was getting very poor mileage in town (less than 15 MPH which I consider not acceptable). The vibration is my main concern since something may be out of balance and cause a failure. *jb

I am the original owner of 2006 Honda odyssey. The vehicle was always serviced by Honda dealer every few months for oil change and other scheduled maintenance. Right after my extended warranty expired last august 2013, santan Honda in chandler had told me that I had two cracked engine mounts. The vehicle was never raced nor towed anything. It was purely used by wife to haul my dogs to the park and grocery the cost was close to $900 including part, labor and tax. I have afraid the other engine mounts will fail anytime soon. It is very unusual for engine mounts to fail immaturely at such low mileage. I have seen many odysseys owner of model year 2005-2006 had similar complaints.please refer to another compliant number 10425453. Please investigate if it qualifies for a recall. *tr
2006 Honda odyssey. Air conditioning condenser damaged by road debris and required replacing the condenser. Dealer stated damage was caused by road hazard/debris and so was not covered by warranty. The condenser is very exposed on front bottom of vehicle with no protection from flying debris. Similar event has occurred to many owners of 2006 odysseys. Honda should be held liable/responsible to provide a product to protect the condenser on this model. The 2008 odyssey comes with a grill covering the condenser. So it is obvious they are aware of the old bad design. *tr

The night before Christmas Eve, I was commuting home from the neighboring city, which is about a 25 minute drive home from where I was currently located. It was late in the evening and 2 of my children were in the car with me. I live in a rural area that is extremely dark in most of the areas. As I'm driving along both of my low beams go out without warning. This made for a very dangerous situation. I reacted as quickly as I could to prevent an accident and tried my high beams. Fortunately, they turned on but unfortunately I had to drive the rest of the way home with my high beams on possibly blinding any driver that came in contact with me. Currently the low beams still are not working. I have read forum, after forum, after forum stating how this is a problem from a 2004 to at least a 201

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Honda odyssey. When the vehicle was started, the air bag indicator remained illuminated. The failure recurred every time the vehicle was started without warning. The contact called a dealer who stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
tires 1 complaint shown
Purchased 05 Honda oddyssey with pax tires brand new in may of 05. Have complained several times to Honda and michelin re: uneven wear of tire tread. Keep being told that this is how they're supposed to wear. Now having problems driving in any snow or ice narrowly avoided several accidents just driving through town to get home. Price to re-place with pax snow tires is outrageous plus cost to have tires swapped out each winter and spring. Honda and michelin have both advised that regular tires cannot be put on vehicle as this will void warranty and possibly cause system malfunctions

Re: Honda case number : n012006-12-2800187 I have 2006 Honda odyssey minivan with 7000 miles on it. The van didn't start and even I couldn't pull my key out from the ignition. I had to tow the local Honda dealer on 12/22/06. After 6 days of investigation, the dealer reported to me that they found the cable was eaten by rodents. The repair cost will be $1300 since the warranty doesn't cover the cable damaged by the rodents. I am living in this house for 6 years, and I never had this kind of problem with other vehicles so far. I think this is the Honda vehicles defect. They need to place the recall for this issue. Even if I repair the vehicles, I am worried to paying another $1300 if the rodent or other animal decide to come back again. Could you investigate this issue to avoid sec

In the summer of 2009, my 2006 Honda odyssey developed a strong, foul odor for which no source could be found. I vacuumed the carpet, left containers of baking soda inside, and even threw away the rubber floor mats, thinking they had deteriorated in the summer heat. The odor did not go away. (the car had been garage-kept until around that time.) in 2010, when taking the car for a routine service appointment, I asked the service manager to check for the problem. He wanted to replace the cabin air filter, which I had already done myself. In september, 2011, after hurricane irene, the tailgate hatch would slosh and spill water when opened. This past week, I went to drive the car on an extended trip. When I went to lift the rear seats, which had been folded into the cargo area, to the upright
