Our 2006 Kia sedona airbag light on the driver?s dashboard came on. A Kia dealer diagnostic revealed a $1,900.00 in repair costs to replace the airbag seat sensors. The airbags will not deploy until repaired. Our sedona has 61,000 miles; 1,000 beyond the 60,000 warranty. This renders the safety rating of the Kia sedona useless until repaired and endangers the lives for our precious children to ride in this vehicle. The vehicle has never been in an accident and has been well maintained rigorously following all manufacturer maintenance. This is a safety defect issue and should be covered by Kia as a recall; not a warranty issue. Kia corporate declined to cover the costs. The number one reason we purchased the 2006 Kia sedona was the safety rating. Now we are stuck with our preciou
January 2007 we purchased a Kia sedona because of the safety features for all passengers, an important feature because I transport children. In april of 2007 we were hit by a Mini van in the front passenger quarter panel. The accident caused thousands of dollars of damage and no airbags deployed, which was a concern. 2016 we were in another accident while turning a corner. This time we were hit in the rear (3rd row) passenger quarter panel by a pick up. We were hit hard enough to push our van into the other lane, ending up jumping a curb & landing in the grass. No air bags deployed, which really upset me! The rear hatch looked like someone had opened it then shut it with a light pole laying across it. Our insurance company totaled the van and asked us to go and get our things out. I

Minivan suddenly drops out of drive when accelerating on highway. Has happened twice, gear shift was in proper position. Had to emergency brake and pull off highway (coasting) and turn off engine and restart. Gear/pedal then reengaged and was able to resume driving. Dealer says they cannot recreate problem. Very concerning. *tr

Low beam headlight keeps burning out about once every 2 months. *tr
My 2006 Kia sedona has had both the driver and passenger low beam headlights burn out very prematurely. I have probably replaced 9 individual headlights since I bought the car in 2006. Bulbs only last 4-6 months each. H7 is the replacement bulb that is recommended and I have wasted my money countless times buying the "premium bulbs" only to have them burn out. Took the car to Kia dealer and of course they can't find a problem, but looking at multiple blog sites a lot of other people are having the exact same problem. *tr

Tl*- the contact is calling to complain because the manufacture of his vehicle does not make seat belt extender and he finds this to be a safety issue as well as an issue with the law, since the state of minnesota requires all drivers to wear seat belts. When he spoke with the manufacture to see if he can get a seat belt extenders they stated that they don't make them and that they do only what is required by the federal guideline. The contact would like to know what next step he can take to resolve his seat belt issue.

Intermittently not starting. Not cranking. Battery has been checked. Alternator is ok. We've left it with our mechanic for a week and he was unable to replicate the issue. It's happening a couple times a month. We wait about 20 minutes then the Kia starts up. Yes the van is available for inspection. My safety was at risk as the van not starting in below freezing Temps. No it has not been inspected by manufacturer. No warning lamps before or during issue. Issue has been going on over 3 months.

I have owned my 2006 Kia sedona since jan 2008 and have had a persistent problem of oil leaking from the valve covers and the oil pan gasket. This oil leak issue has been 'fixed' 5 times till now, on warranty coverage at the following Kia dealerships (in descending order of dates)' - 1) fullerton Kia on 10/29/2010 2) fullerton Kia on 08/21/2010 3) glendale Kia on 06/08/2009 4) glendale Kia on 12/24/2008 5) fullerton Kia on 01/30/2008 due to the design and placement of the engine parts on the 2006 sedona, oil leaking from the valve cover on the top, falls directly on the alternator located just below it. With time, the oil leak residue clogs up the alternator itself, thereby leading to failure of the battery charging system (which has been replaced three times already on warranty co
