It is been happening more frequently, the gas pedal sticks and cannot be pressed down. Occured several times including some times when I was driving. I have seen several complaints for the same issue. I'm worry about this, it could cause an accident. Something has to be done!! *tr

My gas pedal gets stuck whether it is cold or warm. This has been happening since 2007. I was told that it was due to carbon buildup and that a fuel injection cleaning was needed. My throttle bottle was replaced also. For the past several months, my pedal has been sticking again. This is quite dangerous since I cannot move forward at a light when it turns green and I cannot accelerate when already driving. I see that many people have reported the same issue to the NHTSA. I do not feel that I should have to replace my throttle body again within 2 years, especially if this is issue is widespread. Please review this issue for a possible recall. *tr
The gas pedal sticks on a daily basis. *tr
2006 Mazda tribute gas pedal sticks in cold weather to the point where the car will no go anywhere. I always warm my car up however, nothing prevents this from happening and I am worried that if I stop in traffic and start I will be in a major accident. *tr
Gas pedal sticks making it hard to accelerate. Dangerous when in traffic and gas pedal will not move. Whether it is summer or winter trying to accelerate is becoming very dangerous when driving.
I own a 2006 Mazda tribute 4 cylinder. When the weather changes and it gets to be about 40 degrees or lower my gas pedal sticks! I am unable to press the pedal down. This is very scary and I believe it can cause an accident especially when you are at a traffic light you are not sure if the gas pedal gonna work. Then when you press the gas after many times of trying and it finally works you accelerate to much and can hit the car in front of you. Please check into this matter as I feel it is very important and can become a liability to Mazda. *tr
Accelerator sticks and will not allow you to press the gas pedal. This happened in traffic and had to idle off to the side of the road. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Mazda tribute. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH attempting to accelerate, the accelerator pedal became stuck. The contact stated that it was very difficult to stop or slow the vehicle down and stated that the failure mainly occurs during cold weather. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis and they were unable to locate problem. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the VIN was not included in recall NHTSA campaign number: 12v357000 (engine and engine cooling, vehicle speed control). The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
I was unable to stop my vehicle in time to avoid a collision with another car. It felt to me that I had no control over the car because the engine was racing. I applied the brakes hard but the car would not stop. The traffic light had just changed and I was accelerating to go through the light. That is when the vehicle went out of my control. After the accident, I tried to drive my car away from the scene but the engine was racing and I could not control the car. That is when I realized that the vehicle is not drivable because the engine appears to be stuck with the throttle open. I tried to drive it but had to use the emergency brake to stop it. *tr

Today 12-15-14 I went to pick up my son at school it is cold outside so I left my car running with the heater on when I got out of the car the car locked on its own and I could not get back in. If someone had a baby in the car and got out and it locked you could not get in that is not safe. It took me over 1 hour to get in my car I had groceries in there. No vehicle should lock with the keys in the ignition and the car on and in park. Thank you. *tr
I purchased a Mazda tribute 2006 model on 9/4/06 and I took it in on 11/1/06 for water in headlamp, water was getting down the in windows, and tire pressure light blinking. I was told at the end of the day that the car was not ready because they could not figure out the tire pressure light problem and they ordered a part. Well, the next day it was the same thing, needed another part and they have been on the phone with Mazda tech support. Well today is 11/7/06 and I still do not have my vehicle back. They are now saying that they have ordered another part and it will be three to four days because the part is on back order. I feel I have bought a defective vehicle and Mazda should give me another vehicle to replace it. This vehicle (from the sounds of southern states) has had all of th

When vehicle has been running for less than 10 minutes the accelerator pedal will not depress unless unusual amount of force or tapping of pedal is used.*tr
When the air temp is below 60 degrees, the accelerator sticks upon acceleration. Once this happens, the gas pedal cannot be depressed unless you exert extreme force on it with your foot. This is extremely dangerous if you need to accelerate to cross traffic or similar type of situation. Once the engine warms up, or if the air temp warms up above 60 degrees, the problem will not occur. *tr

My gas pedal is sticking intermittently. According to my internet search, the v6's for this model was recalled, but not the 4 cylinder version I have. I have to believe it is a similar problem. I just want it to get fixed as it is a safety issue. Either it is going to get stuck in the full speed mode or not let me change out of a 2 miles and hour mode.

We purchased a used 2006 Mazda tribute with about 83,000 miles on it from a car dealer. Less than 2 months after purchasing it, the timing chain broke and the engine failed. The engine failed after the car was parked and we attempted to restart it.
