I completely lost steering in my vehicle..I was with my 16 month old son and my steering wheel went completely loose, then it would tighten up so tight, it would take all of my strength to turn the wheel. I was going around 20 MPH at the time of the second incident. If this would have happened on the interstate, we would have both been killed. This happened around 4 weeks before while trying to leave the parking lot of a local college. The steering wheel tightened and it took me and my passenger to turn the wheel to exit the lot. Nothing has been done, even though this is clearly a problem with several of these vehicles, and people have been killed from loss of steering. It is approximately $1000 to repair, so my car which is a 2006 is now parked until gm will pay for the repairs. *tr

My car had a previous recall of power steering problems, and that recall was supposedly fixed in early 2014. I purchased the car in october 2015, now a little later than a year, I have the exact problems of the recall. Which is "your vehicle equipped with eps may experience a sudden loss of power steering assist that could occur at any time while driving. If the power steering assist is lost, a message is displayed on the driver information center and a chime sounds to inform the driver. Steering control can be maintained, as the vehicle will revert to a manual steering mode, but would require greater driver effort at low vehicle speeds, which could result in an increased risk of a crash.". My car has these exact issues even though it had been "fixed 2 years ago". I believe my car was neve

2006 Pontiac g6 power steering becomes hard to turn. It is hard to control and happens at almost anytime. What happens if it locks up while going 65 with my two kids in the car. Warranty has expired and gm wouldn't fix it anyway. Also a loud clunking noise has started in the front of the car. *tr
On december 23, 2009 the power steering light flashed on the information center. Not long after, the power steering failed to work. The power steering failed as we were making a turn, and it caused us to nearly hit another vehicle and cause an accident. We pulled into the nearest parking lot, turned the engine off, and then restarted the car. When we restarted the car, the power steering began to work again; however, the power steering light came on another two times that day. Since then, we have parked our vehicle, and have not drove it since. We researched this problem on the internet and have found numerous complaints of the same problem, and some of those complaints reported the power steering loss to cause accidents. It would be a shame to have one or multiple deaths over this issue,
The power steering intermittently goes out even after the recall repair. This caused an accident on 12/1/23
