Apparently either the "new ignitions" are also faulty or the dealership lied about having replaced it as they did about having completed the 3rd recall repairs (I'd receive a letter from gm some weeks later saying the parts were now in and to take the car to the dealership to have the work done). This evening at about 5:35pm pacific time I came home and yet one more time the key would not come out of the ignition as it was in the alt position. I tried 5 or 6 times over a span of 10-15 minutes to no avail. The headlights had to be turned off manually as did the overhead light. I was getting my house key off the ring so I could get my tools out of the house to one more time disconnect the battery and decided to try to remove the key again. It was at that point that the key finally came o

Luckily my brother in law was driving his mothers car at the time. They were coming back from the grocery store when the steering turned into a 1955 mack truck as he described it. When they returned we looked it up in the manual as being electric. When I restarted the car it was working ok, then I took it around the block and it went out again. I restarted the car again and it was ok again for about a half block when it went out again. This would have been a very dangerous situation if my 81 year old mother in law had been driving. *tr

I am writing to report fraud by roseville Chevrolet. This is in regards to the Saturn recall of the electric power steering #14115. Evidently the dealership, roseville Chevrolet has submitted a claim that they have repaired this defect. They have not. I had taken my car in for the first two recalls. The parts for the third were not in yet. I told the service manager to keep my car until they could fix the 3rd recall as I did not see why I should have to continue to risk my life for gm. A week later the manager called saying the 3rd recall was done. When I went to get the car I only recieved two receipts. I didn't have my reading glasses so could not see what work had been done. I later looked at the papers and neither had the 3rd recall listed. Weeks later I was notified by satur

Occasionally, in the morning, our 2006 Saturn ion 2 will not start. The battery checks out, everything lights up on the dash display, but turning the key gets no result. If we remove the key and wait 10 minutes, the car will then start. I recently visited a Buick service dept. Where the service person told me that this is a common problem, sometimes corrected by ignition switch replacement (which we had done in 2007, under warranty) and if that does not work, there is an electrical control unit which will be replaced. The total for these 2 repairs? In excess of $1,100.00 !! Here's the real kicker, he said that this will not necessarily remedy the problem! And g.m. Wants another $3 billion in bailout funds?? The funny thing is that the 1994 Saturn which my son now has, with over

2006 Saturn ion 3. Key would not come out of ignition. It started out just ever so often about 6-8 months ago and steadily became more frequent. Took the car in to the dealer, and they put in a new cylinder and housing and I also got a new key. The warranty was out in 8/08, so I ended up paying $572.40 for repairs. I came home and am still having same problem with the key not wanting to come out of ignition at times. *tr

According to what I can recall, initially, I was contacted by Saturn/gm that I might have defect in my ignition but that they might or might not make a recall on it later but I should have it repaired if I had problems with it. I did have problems so I paid to have it replaced. Subsequently, I still had problems starting my car due to locking features. This meant that when I tried to turn the key it would not turnover. Fortunately, I learned to continue trying to do this, and eventually it would start. This is a dangerous feature especially to me because I am a woman who travels in blighted neighborhoods and works and lives in them as well. The crime rate in my city of new orleans leads the nations in murders. No one else in my household is willing to drive my car because they know

Purchased vehicle new as a demo, told there was 'minor panel damage but fixed like new" found out car was in chain reaction crash both front and rear. Body and frame still not fixed, keeps cracking windshields now ignition system has failed. Read many other problems with same issue from year 2000 and up on the car. Needs to be a recall or someone needs to pay for this junk car besides me. Starter would stick in after starting car, took it to the dealership 3 times but they could not "reproduce" the situation, therefore would not repair. Now look where I'm at. *tr
