Was taken to repair shop for check engine light. I was told that the rust was so bad on the frame that I could not safely drive it. Was informed by repair shop that they have had over 20 vehicles years 05-06 within the last year with frames falling apart like mine?? Why hasn't anyone noticed this or done something? The vehicle has been garaged kept, all recalls performed, all maintenance remained up to date, only 109,000 miles and frame falling apart!! Was taken to Toyota dealer in august and was made to believe it was only small hole.passed inspection in january 20020. There is no way this was not present for years!!! But Toyota never mentioned until august 2020, when they saw small hole in frame, but should have been removed from road!!! . So, why is Toyota allowing these vehicles to con

My Toyota tundra has sever frame rust and will not pass inspection. The truck has 173,000 miles on it and I just got it paid off and will now have to junk it.
The vehicle frame is showing major signs of rust. This apparently is a very common issue. When I contacted Toyota regarding this matter I was told that they issued a temporary service for this but I was never notified. This is a huge issue since whenever conponents need replacing the bolts must be cut off due to rusting. This is a safety issue as well since certain areas are thinning on the frame.

Takata recall my Toyota tundra is a 2006 limited fully loaded beautiful truck.... Until you look under neath it! The frame has rust holes, the struts rusted off the frame, the break lines are rusted out, my break drums are rusted out, leaf spring are rusted out, the exhaust system rusted off and the best part about all of this is that the truck was taken to Toyota for the recall and sprayed instead of replaced! The dealer took sponges and put them into the frame and painted over the frame!! A Toyota dealer!!!! And now that the frame is falling apart Toyota is saying it's not their problem the recall is over. Even thought the frame wasn't replaced when it was needing to be replaced! My household owns 7 Toyota a and Lexus vehicles, you can bet your money we will never buy a Toyota or lexu
I Was not notified That there was a recall for the frame rusting. My frame is rusted out and now I’m told that the recall has expired. This is unacceptable and poses a threat to the lives of Me, my family and all Toyota drivers everywhere.

Tamara recall - I was exiting the freeway, making a left hand turn onto the city street, I was traveling approximately 25 miles per hour. As I entered the intersection, on a green light, a 1996 GMC yukon ran a red light, travelling approximately 40 miles an hour and hit me on my front end, damaging the bumper, fender, door, hood and bed on the drivers side. I was wearing my seatbelt but the impact was hard enough to propell me upwards, causing my left shoulder to hit the frame above the window which caused a grade 3 separation of my left collarbone.
Vehicle kicks out of gear while driving would shift real hard into second gear taking off then when up to speed would kick out of gear as into neutral and coast randomly. *tr
This filing is in reference to my 2006 Toyota tundra sr5 v8 4.7 ltr 10,000 miles. For the past few weeks of driving the above referenced vehicle I started to notice a knocking metal sound under the center console when accelerating and braking... I took no immediate action as I found it to be a very light sound. After a few more days of driving the knock became more noticeable I was more alarmed, when I got home I got under my truck with a flashlight and started to take a look around, after careful inspection I found that 3 of 4 12mm hex bolts on the automatic transmission mount/ crossmember were missing further more the case was that the rear transmission mount located near the driveshaft were loose enough that could be moved with minimal strength with my hand I was able to recover 1 bolt

I purchased vehicle from private dealership Mar/23 with mileage of 77k. While under dealer warranty had it inspected at local Toyota dealership for frame defects. Was told none were found and none were reported in service records. These records were from the Toyota dealership where previous(and original) owner had every factory recommended service performed over a 16 year period. In Dec/23 I discovered, on accident, significant deterioration of frame components as well as a large hole in the main frame rail. This hole was disguised with sheet metal, epoxy, and spray paint. Took it back for re-inspection where the issues were recognized as in serious need of repair. Other trucks of this era were eligible for frame replacement but was told mine was not, nor are the necessary parts available
Frame rusted really bad as in other model trucks for Toyota

With cruise control engaged at 55 MPH any increase in incline will initiate a one or two gear downshift and substantial throttle application. Also when in cruise control using hand control stalk to increase speed slightly will initiate a one or two gear downshift and substantial throttle application. Both of these situations can startle the driver because of the abrupt changes and could cause an accident leading to injury/death. *jb
Air pressure in one tire constantly deflates. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that due to the porosity chrome of the wheels, air leaks out from the wheel causing the tire to deflate. *tr

Frame failure at driver's side front wheel due to excessive rust. Dealership inspected frame 8 months prior to failure and said it was safe to drive. Wheel and steering components broke free from frame. Truck was suddenly unable to move or be driven. Luckily it happened in a parking lot and not while driving on road or on highway at high speed. Yes independent service center confirmed frame failure. No inspections have been done. No warnings.
I have experienced an issue with the steering of my vehicle for the past several months. Steering requires an increased effort on my part. Also, there is a noise coming from the front suspension when I am driving. *tr

Takata recall - unacceptable how long this recall has taken to correct. One of our two vehicles is unable to be used as a family vehicle and has now gone past the point of being an inconvenience. Have received absolutely no information since the original notice. How was Toyota able to pass the state inspection with this recall in effect?
