I got my car repaired for this issue after smelling gas leakage before vw released the relevant recall campaign. I sent vw all receipt for repair paid by my pocket money, but vw refused to reimburse for my expense because I got it repaired too early. I did on 09/17/2014 but vw states that only the repair was done between 09/20/2016 and 03/19/2018. This is ridiculous answer. I am here attaching all the receipt and the letter from vw . Car is currently in motion after repair.

I have a vw touareg v8 2006. On saturday 12/01/18 I took the car to vw david maus dealer @lee rd, orlando, fl for the safety recall -fuel pump flange replacement'- after they performed the job, my car stated to misfires, decrease in power and acceleration and it shut off while driving. They want me to authorize them to perform a diagnostic test , that will cost me $155. On 12 /3/18 I spoke to the service manager , she said she was told the problem is the fuel pump. , so I don't know why they insist on the diagnostic test if they know what is the problem. They broke the fuel pump and now they want me to be responsible for that expense and the repairs. I refuse to paid for the diagnostic and repairs, , because my car was fine. They broke the parts so they should be responsible

I have taken this vehicle to the Volkswagen dealer because of a fuel smell and a sudden jolt that I get undercarriage when driving. They have told me that they are not sure where the jolt is coming from they don't know if it is the transmission or a fuel leak. I'm very afraid to continue driving this vehicle. I have a small child and I would like for Volkswagen to buy the vehicle back from me. Please see enclosed letter from vw. Thank you!

I get dizzy every time I drive my 2006 Volkswagen Touareg. There is a fuel smell inside the cabin and outside of the driver's rear wheel well. I noticed this during the short time I park in my garage. Since, the noticeable smell, I have been parking outside and have since minimized by use of the vehicle. I love the vehicle, but I am getting headaches and dizziness while driving it. Upon looking up more information on the fuel smell, I came across Volkswagen Manufacture Safety recall 20Ai and 20Z4. Since I last spoke of Community Volkswagen of Santa Maria, they said that the recall has been repaired. However, after further research, this is an Open Recall and is still eligible to be repaired. Please advise me on my next steps so as to not be in a dangerous situation while driving this vehic

Vehicle was smelling like gas - thought it was due to running over debris but no damage to tank found in inspection. Mechanic removed tank shields and straps and found that the fuel pump flange was leaking due to a crack and needed to be replaced along with connector seal. Car owner has the part if it needs to be sent in for review. Did research and noticed that 2007-2010 vw touareg's were recalled for this exact issue (https://www.NHTSA.gov/vehicle/2007/Volkswagen/touareg/4%252520dr/AWD#recalls). Want to ensure that this recall should not be widened as research on several vw owner sites have noted this same issue with more years. Owner called vw to put in complaint but was told the car is not under recall and that there is nothing they could do. Mechanic bill attached - p

Constant squeaking brakes when I came off of the brakes, not pushing down this occurred for several weeks. I took in to dealer, was initially told no problem existed it was brake dust, and may need more expensive pads. I took it back about 1 month later (sept 2007) at my 20k mile check and was told I needed whole new front brakes. *tr

I have a 2006 vw touareg only a month old with 2,700 miles. I was not operating the vehicle at the time which was a good thing. I left work started my touareg and is shut off right away and would not start and the key was locked in the ignition. I had to be towed to my local dealer. It was in the shop for two weeks and there was a faulty control module. It was repaired but who knows how long it will last. From my research it appears this exact situation has occurred in the 2004 model year also which was their first year of production. It could have been deadly if this module fialed while driving because I would have had no control of the vehicle. It's terrible to see there has not been a correction since the 2004 model year to address this issue. The touareg has hand many problems since it

Fuel smell on the rear passenger side coming from the fuel filter tank area. Fuel tank is located at the bottom the rear seats. The fuel fumes are very strong we are afraid the car might catch fire. The outside rear of the car smelled like gas. After looking under the car we noticed a puddle of gas collecting after stopping the vehicle. The dealer told us the driver side fuel pump has a crack leaking fuel. This is a serious problem and has to be addressed before somene dies. It is a hazard to my family and the public as a whole. Apparently vw has done a recall for this for later model year touareg, but not the 2006. They refuse to fix it due to age?! In all the years I've been driving, I've never had a fuel pump that cracks and spews gas all over the road. In order to even find the problem, they had to take out all of the rear seats, cut through the carpet of the vehicle, and open up two vents through the floor of the SUV. This is a serious hazard. So if I hadn't smelled the

While traveling at highway speed, began to hear a thunking noise consistent with a flat tire. After further inspection determined the noise was originating from the underside of the vehicle in the center. Dealer was able to diagnose as a failed carrier bearing over the phone as it is a "recurring issue" (dealer's words). Since this was only a "recurring issue and not a problem", Volkswagen stuck me with a $1483 repair bill and a week without a car or loaner vehicle. *tr

I own a 2006 vw touareg. It has only 54k miles and has never been driven off road. It has been a family car and bought new in 2006. Just yesterday sept 2009 I left a parking lot and began accelerating when it sounded like and felt like the car lost the front two tires. I quickly pulled over thinking I would see blown tires but saw nothing. Got back in drove a 100 feet to have the same noise and shaking. I pulled over and had it towed to nearest vw shop. Found out the drive shaft was shot. $1100 for the part and only $65 to install new drive shaft. Mechanic thought it was interesting that the local vw dealer happen to have one in stock. He thought it meant they must be having this problem with a lot of touaregs. I am going to call vw in hopes that they will take some responsibility. Is this

Upon driving the vehicle on the night in question, out of nowhere, a light came on and said coolant overheated. I was driving on the dallas tollway, and pulled over immediately, and the vehicle shut down completely. I called a tow truck, and had the vehicle towed, and was told maybe the battery was bad. I purchased a new battery the next day, but the vehicle still would not start. I then had it towed to the dealer, and was told that I needed a new engine. I couldn't understand how an engine could go out at less than 60,000 miles. I've been fighting with vw to have the problem resolved, but they have refused to do so. They've had my vehicle for 2 months now, and the problem still hasn't been resolved. I plan to pursue litigation. *tr

While driving the vehicle it will slow down and will not accelerate even while pressing the gas. It may even cut off. I have to keep pushing the pedal maybe 3 to 5 times before it will accelerate. This happens even on the freeway. I don't drive it anymore because of fear I might have an accident.
