On 12/10/21 the accelerator stuck. I had to pull off the road, because I was losing power. But what if it got stuck at a high rate of speed? How would I stop, other than the hand brake and pray that it works. It had happened another time that week, but I thought it was a fluke as the car only has 85000 miles on it. I bought it in Sept 2021. It happened again on the 11th. Had my family member look at it and they lubricated the accelerator and a cable in the engine compartment. It has not done it since. Here is the VIN # [XXX]. 12/18/21 Drove to church. No problem with anything. No lights on.... the dash. Family member left to go home for the afternoon and stated that they almost hit a herd of deer, because the brakes went straight to the floor. They drove back for the eveni

My daughter, julie mayo, was driving on hwy 280 in birmingham, al when she approached a stopped vehicle on the highway. She was unable to stop the Ford escape to avoid the crash even after applying brakes. A subsequent inspection by a certified mechanic at joe hudson's indicated the throttle was stuck and the engine was running at 4000 RPM following the collision. Damages to the escape were estimated at $5700 including frame damage, therefore the vehicle was declared a total loss by state farm. The current Ford escape recall notice for this problem does not extend to include 2007 models. It should.

Car was parked. Rear window exploded and burn marks were seen on the glass. Thus far our cost to replace the window and wiper blade motor and blade has been 460 dollars. We filed an insurance claim but the window repair came in under the deductible. The wiper motor was considered to be wear and tear and thus was not covered. I hope a recall will be issued to correct this problem since it seems to be a common occurrence according to posts we have read on the internet. *tr

Vehicle displayed "service emissions system" warning immediately after driving off the lot. After replacement of all emissions parts, vehicle still intermittently displays this warning and occasional "stop safely now" messages causing the engine to shut down. Vehicle also displays "service brake system" warnings daily despite having entire breaking system replaced causing failure of ABS breaking system resulting in brake pedal going all the way to the floor and taking a much longer distance to stop while driving. Vehicle surges forward while stopped at traffic lights increasing the risk of a crash. Vehicle displays "passenger door ajar" warnings although door is shut. This results in alarm and lights flashing constantly resulting in several drained batteries so vehicle does not start. Tran

Without warning, the engine and motor stopped upon accelerating after right turn, with warning message and many lights displayed. After rolling to a stop at the side of the road, and waiting 5 to 10 minutes, the car started and drove normally. This has occurred a number of times since then, on surface streets and expressways. The loss of power is accompanied by loss of power steering, of course, and creates a dangerous situation. *tr

My vehicle is a 2007 Ford escape xlt. For the past several months when I try to gas up the vehicle I can only put in a small amount of gasoline. It appears that the gas filler pipe cover (a little flap that is mounted on the inside of the filler pipe) is gone. Because it is mounted from the inside, the only place it could have gone is into the filler pipe which causes a blockage so that gas backs up and spills out. It takes about 15 minutes to fill the gas tank with a constant auto turn off of the fuel pump. On and off, on and off with the gas pump. Do not go to a full serve station as they just stick the pump in and wait on someone else... At almost $4.00 per gallon you do not want to pay for all the fuel that just goes on the ground!!! This creates both a hazardous and environmental

When I'm driving my vehicle & making left turns it makes a loud noise. To me it sounds like the transmission just fell out. I'm enclosing some documents of recalls that I've found. My truck is also rusting out so bad that when I put my grandson in his car seat, the legs of my pants get caught on it.

I own a 2007 Ford escape, 45,000 miles, car is outside of warranty. On 12/7/10, I was driving to work & tried to lane change ,the gas pedal became stuck, I could not accelerate. Luckily I was able to merge back into my lane & repeatedly force the pedal down to get the car to finally accelerate. The problem persisted the remaining part of the day & next, and I took the car to my Ford dealership on december 8. On december 9th , the service manager advised the throttle was bent , replacement at cost of $300 and the part is being 'redesigned ' and not be available to be shipped from the part supplier until 12/20/10 ,the dealership would not receive the part until sometime in january 2011 .the car is not safe to drive and would need to remain at the dealership . I asked why the part was being r

On or about 12/11/08 my wife's 2007 Ford escape hybrid with less than 50,000 miles on it started to sputter then quit running. It did this several times. She call me in which I told her it's not safe to drive. We took it the dealer they said it was out of warranty. Since it was a hybrid we had the dealer look at it. They told us it was a hybrid thing. They told us it was a cooling pump. We had them fix it at a cost of $640.61. I would like to know why this pump failed so quickly. The part # is 6m64-8c419-aa. Please do an investigation to see if this part is defective. If so I would like my money reimbursed. I have the old pump thank you mitch. *tr
