Its been happening since the cold weather hit the area. I was driving on ice and went to turn and the eps light came on and my electronic assist steering went out, or got hard to steer. Its almost caused an accident but my evasive maneuvering I managed to get the car over to the side of the roadway..I shut the car off to reset the eps and I went off. So I headed back home and before I could turn the corner the light came back on...now its been happening more frequently and its beginning to seriously bother me...id hate to think of me driving down the freeway and that happening to my children..im taking it to the dealership in the morning! Not happy with it. *tr

12/06/2020 Crash ODI #11378056.0

On december 5th, 2020 at approximatly 0645am I was driving my elantra without and iissues or pre-indicators that something very bad was about to happen. I was on a busy road that is traveled all times of the day, getting on interstate 270 in columbus headed west. I estimate (picture included from accident site and where the freeway started) about 1000 feet until I merge onto the well traveled highway. Iwhen I I completed my slight turn associated with this paticular on ramp, I lose control of the vehicle without warning, my car went in two circles. My steering did not work as well as my brakes. I would like to also note that this paticular on ramp also has steady, fast moving traffic from another street merging together before ww all get on the highway. Two cars and a tractor trailor were

Owner of a 2007 Hyundai elantra (<20,000 miles). Brought it in to dealership 3x for airbag light being on. Now found out the dash and floor wiring harness need to be replaced due to cupholder leaking condensation onto wiring harness and shorting it out, thus disabling the air bag system. Not covered under Hyundai warranty. Exact same problem that was issued a recall for in 2001 Hyundai elantra model "Hyundai is recalling certain my 2001 elantra vehicles. If a liquid is spilled in the area of the cupholder on the center console, it may seep through the console opening for the parking brake lever and then drip onto the air bag control module electrical connector. The spilled liquid may contaminate the air bag control module and its electrical connector to the air bag wiring harness and cause

Key gets stuck in 2007 Hyundai elantra. It will turn off the engine and power to dashboard but it cannot be released from the ignition. It is constantly stuck in the ignition releasing sporadically or when the battery is completely drained because the key is always in. I have taken it in to the dealer who says they have replaced the cylinder and switch. Problem still occurs and is draining my battery. The dealer says they won't do anything more because it costs them too much and Hyundai in s. Korea won't reimburse them. *tr

A friend driving behind me noticed my brake lights not working when approaching a red light. When we parked we tested them and none of the rear brake lights work. I do not know how long my brake lights have not been working but it is a major safety issue considering I drive in rush hour traffic in a city daily. There is currently a recall (campaign 09v122000) that I would have expected to include the 2007 Hyundai elantra that I drive, but it appears that my particular VIN is not included (yet). I am also bothered that I had to do all this research. When the car dealership and the Hyundai customer service entered my VIN, this recall doesn't even show up as a possible inclusion. I understand my vehicle was not part of the recall but considering other vehicles of my make, model, and yea

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Hyundai elantra. The contact stated that both the driver and passenger side sun visors would not remain secure in the upward position. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 97,000.

Both the driver's side and the passenger's side sun visors fell completely off while I was driving (this happened three weeks apart). Because there is a vanity light in each visor, the wires broke when the visors fell. The bare wires touched and shorted out my electrical system. It's not under warranty anymore, but it seems as though this must be some kind of manufacturing defect since it happened to both visors! *tr

Yet another door handle has fallen off my 2007 Hyundai elantra! This is #4. This vehicle is only 4 yrs old, and yet 4 of the door handles have broken off. The prior complaints I have filed have been 10400898 and 10280729. I am really disgusted with how Hyundai is treating this. Hyundai tells me that it happened because of the cold. 2 of the door handles fell off in winter months of december and february. 2 fell off in the summer months of july and august. When I mentioned this, they backtracked and blamed me for ripping them off... I am a 150 lb, 47 yr old woman. I do exercise, but I am not a gorilla! I've never had any other vehicle loose a single door handle, let alone 4 of them! I am upset that I am blamed instead of them looking and researching the problem! I am no
