Hundreds of Pontiac solstice, Saturn sky, opel gt (whether turbo or not) experience, just like myself, SRS faults that turn off all airbags in the car. When I say solstice, I mean all the kappa platform, 2 seater, sports cars. Due to, the passenger pressure sensor in the seat that tears. After the pressure sensor is broken, the gauge cluster shows a code: service airbag system. This disables all the airbags in the vehicle, including the driver's steering wheel airbag. Many other vehicles have this same problem recalled. As a community of solstice owners, we believe that our cars are not recalled because there were less solstice's produced. And of the cars that were produced, many are in storage and/or have very very low miles (which the pressure sensors will only break under fatiguing of t
The passenger seat airbag sensor stopped working. It no longer sensing when a passenger is present in the passenger seat. This seems like a very dangerous problem since the airbag will not deploy on passenger side in a crash. It seems to be a common problem that is well documented, I believe gm should order a recall. *tr
Had a recall for the airbags a few years ago. I got it "fixed" at that time but soon after getting it done, the "check airbags" light came back on. I've been chancing it each time I get behind the wheel because of the hassle I went through with dealing with the recall. The first GM location I went to wanted to charge me. The second GM location that "fixed" the airbag was over an hour away so I had to inconvenience someone to go back and forth with me to drop off and pick up the car days later. Then as mentioned, soon after the "repair", the light was back on so I believe they just put a band-aid on the problem but didnt really fix it. Now after coming very close to a collision, I want to get this repaired but do not feel I should pay for it. This is a safety concern and reading through
This is a known failure and a previous recall. The PPS system is a failed design and breaks continuously. Look at all the complaints you have received. This is extremely dangerous and GM should not be allowed to dismiss. Will it take deaths or lawsuits for GM to respond? This is the reason the NHTSA exists. GM needs to be directed to fix with a permanent solution when it involves the failure of airbags to deploy.
The pps is throwing service air bag system on dash and its not arming its self > the car dont even have 40 thousand miles , my understanding their is a recall on this junk but general motors said the when I called they say no open recalls ! What he heck ? This is very dangerous for the passenger and lilable for me< ins co< and general motors
Service air bag error light came on. After reading some threads in forums, I saw that a lot of owners of this model were having the same problem. To replace the "sdm module" will cost over $500, so my car will be without and air bag on the passenger side.

Service airbag light came on. Dealer says the passenger presence system module has failed and is $1260 to replace. After looking at several Pontiac solstice online forums, this appears to be a common failure. *tr
The contact owns a 2007 Pontiac Solstice. The contact stated the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V061000 (Air Bags). The vehicle was repaired under the recall; however, DTC: B008171 (Passenger air bag Suppression System) warning light remained illuminated. The contact stated that the warning light was illuminated prior to the recall repair being performed. The vehicle remained at the dealer; however, no further repairs were made. The dealer suggested that additional diagnostic tests were needed to determine the cause of the warning light being illuminated. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
There is a known issue with the passenger seat airbag sensor. My car only has 73,000 miles on it, and the passenger seat is seldom used. The sensor failed and now the passenger air bag is inoperative. A 20 pound laptop bag was all that was on the seat when this failure occurred. I can no longer carry a passenger in my car.

An alert on the dash to service air bag came on. Apparently a switch went causing the passenger side air bag to fail to activate properly. This light was when stationary and when driving. The repair was over $700 at parks Chevrolet in charlotte, nc.
Recall 17036 - I need to get my car inspected how do I do this with the ppa light on in my car. I received a letter from gm stating that parts for the interim repair are now available to repair your vehicle. I took the car & to my Pontiac dealership but all they would say is there is not part available. Please let me know what I need to do to get this taken care of, like I said I need to get my car inspected.

I recently took my 2007 Pontiac solstice into a local gm dealership to have the ignition switch replaced. Within less of a month my vehicle'a engine light has came on, my car indicates that my gas cap is loose, an I am having issues with the transmission shift. When I purchased the vehicle I believe the car dealership knew of the issues prior and did not relay the information to me. My car is too dangerous to drive and I am unable to purchase a new vehicle. I may lose my job because a faulty car that was sold to me ! *tr
Airbag seat sensor fails to activate airbag and airbag warning light remains on indefinitely whether passenger is in passenger seat or not. Replacement cost nearly $900. *tr
While driving to my sons house, the engine stopped. Fortunately I was not far from the house and was able to coast in. I was unable to restart the engine so I had the car towed to my house. I checked with the local gm dealer and was told that I was up to date on the recalls. A mechanic checked the car. It seems that the new ignition switch is faulty as well

I have a 2007 Pontiac solstice. On 12/12/14, while driving my vehicle I observed issues with my brakes. While driving about 35 MPH and applying the brakes the car jerked as if the brakes went out. I had issues with this last month and a mechanic informed me that my transmission was not shifting correctly. I cannot afford to replace all these parts. I believe it has to do with the multiple recalls on my vehicle. I have read other individuals dealing with the same issue. It is very dangerous and needs to be brought to owners attention this can result on many more deaths. I cannot drive my car because of the brakes jerking so hard. I am going to have my car towed to a local gm dealership. Please research this for the safety of owners and other individuals on the road !!!! *tr

Two tires keep losing air. One severely enough that it is below 20 lbs of pressure every morning requiring me to add air with a hand pump every day or drive on one or more tires dangerously low on air. This has been happening for months. Parks Chevrolet in charlotte, nc says they have no solution. A good year tire and auto center and a discount tire center both said that the chrome on the interior of the rims is flaking off, creating slow air leaks between the tire and the rims. Presumably the air is leaking all the time and appears to be worse when parked with the tire in a particular position. I have had a tire go completely flat (smooshed and registering no air pressure) parked in the garage for a few days.
