While driving on a local street I noticed the red brake light came on and then just a few seconds later multiple lights came on, master warning light, electronically controlled brake warning, anti-lock brake system, slip indicator, and check vsc system and I had no braking capability. I was finally able to get the car pulled off of the road so I turned off the car and then turned it on again and the same lights were still on. I turned it off again and after a few minutes I turned it back on and the lights were not on and everything was normal. Braking system was working again. This has happened 3 times in the last 3 months and needless to say this car is no longer safe to drive. *js

Started the car and the "brake" warning light immediately came on. Also, in the multi-information display at the center of the speedometer, the message "check vsc system" appeared. I thought maybe my parking brake was causing a problem, so I engaged and disengaged that. Then I tried to drive the car. The brake pedal behaves as if there is no brake-assist. I jam it to the floor to get minimal braking. I drove slowly and carefully home in this condition. In subsequent trips (over the last two days) I have only seen this again one more time. When the system does not report the problem, the brakes work fine. And in that one case where the problem re-appeared, I was able to turn the car off and back on again a few times, until the problem disappeared. I have not seen the problem begin
Brake failure. Was driving in residential street (low speed) when brakes stopped working. Had to use parking brake. Problem seems to be with brake fluid reservoir tank/filter, which Toyota offered to service until 30 june 2017. Unfortunately, never had problems with brakes until now--1 1/2 years after the service offer had expired. Should be full recall. The reason why problem did not surface till now is because vehicle has low miles (85,000 after 12 years).
All the dashboard brake light came on, and a couple of seconds later all the system warning lights came on. The brakes became hard to push as if they were fighting me. After about 5 minutes the lights went off and the brakes felt normal again. This occurred while I was driving today. The bigger worry is that it happened ten days ago also. Once on a city street and once on the interstate. I took the car to two different shops (one was a Toyota dealership in marietta, georgia) and they both ran diagnostics and couldn't find anything wrong. But I have an unsafe car with brake problems!
My abs pump failed causing my brakes to lock up and totaled my car

I purchased a new 2007 Toyota camry hybrid in 2007. About a month ago, my water pump started to leak. This was unusual because cars that I previously owned, the water pumps lasted for much longer than 3 yrs. Recently, I found out that Toyota had did a national recall on 2004-2007 prius hybrid models for water pumps that leaked. So today, I checked on online forums, and I found out that many owners with the 2007 Toyota camry hybrids had also had issues with leaking of their water pumps, and had to have them replaced. I had to spend $750 to have mines replaced at the dealership. Please investigate! *tr
During driving or in a stop light the warning lights of vcs system lights up without any reason and then went to normal. I've noticed then that this usually happened when some weighted vehicles passed beside mine that caused a rough road movement or some high loud. One time passed just before a routine checkup (oil & filter). I called back to the service and told me that it was a resetting of the car system.???? This has passed for a few times every year but this time the warning lights still and it shown a diagnosis with abnormal leak in the accumulator which I've told that this should not be happened in an hybrid model. *kb
I accidentally found out that my 2007 Toyota camry is burning excessive amount of oil. When I went for an oil change at around 60000 miles, the mechanics commented that my engine oil level is very low (nearly empty). He found no signs of leaking. After the oil change, I checked the level to make sure it is full. After 600 miles, the mark is near the low end, which means about 1.2 quart consumption (according to user manual). *kb

The dashboard of our 2007 Toyota camry is melting. There have been no chemicals used on the dashboard what so ever. It has always only been cleaned with water. The melting is pronounced more as the dashboard nears the bottom of the windshield. It is now very sticky and is completely ruined. Most importantly, since melting, it has become very shiny. It creates a horrible glare of bright sunlight directly into your eyes as you drive. It is a serious safety issue and there is nothing you can do about it. It is almost like a mirror directly on top of your dash. I have contacted Toyota and they will not acknowledge that this is a manufacturer's defect. They state the dash will have to be replaced at my expense. I have found numerous reports from other camry owner's with the same complaint. Plea
Driver side visor flaps down to forehead level when stationary. Flaps down pointing down when in motion going over bump. Visor does not stay tucked in its stow away position. Caused injury to right temple getting into the car. Caused forehead injury at a sudden stop. Dealt we refused to replace or repair. Toyota claims the the recall ended in 2018 so the part is not eligible for replacement.

ABS actuator failed for no apparent reason. Many warning lights came on suddenly while normal driving. The lights included slippage, ABS, check vsc, and emergency break. The break action response was diminished. This is a known problem to Toyota, and they extended the warranty, but ours is beyond the new extension window. Cost to repair is $1,600

Driver side sun visor unexpectedly falls and obscures line of sight. This happened multiple times and continues to happen. During an internet search regarding this issue, it came to light that Toyota is aware of this safety issue as many customers have had the same complaint. Instead of a safety recall on this, Toyota decided to extend a warranty to 7 years on this issue but did not inform it's customer base about this issue. As luck would have it, I did not discover this warranty extension until 3 months after their warranty extension expired. Toyota is not willing to extend the coverage and feels that they have followed proper procedures. I could not disagree more. I was using my wife's car this weekend, driving on the interstate, making a lane change at 65 MPH, when all of the sudden th
Drivers side sun visor suddenly broke, obstructing view while driving. The visor will no longer return to the upright position and flops toward the driver. I am afraid in an accident I might slam my head directly into the sun visor, so I think this is a serious safety hazard. Contacted the dealer, and they want $260 to replace with the same visor. Looking online, this appears to be a common problem, and I should expect the replacement to break as well, including the passenger side eventually. Please ask for a safety recall before someone gets hurt! In the meantime I intend to remove the visor and just drive without one as there is no safe replacement available and Toyota has not addressed the issue despite numerous complaints online. Just google Toyota sun visor problem and you will see se

My 2007 Toyota solara power steering locked up initially 12/17/2009 while exiting a freeway offramp causing me to continue veering left into the curb fortunately with no injury to myself or car. The cars behind, also exiting, nearly slammed into me but had enough room to stop and swerve around. The wheel was locked for nearly 2 minutes then finally released while the car remained running with no engine failure. The same issue occurred 12/24/2009 in the evening while exiting a parking lot which again fortunately no one hit me. The steering wheel did not unlock for nearly two minutes again with no engine failure. Currently the car is with Toyota dealer and has had no past history of issues and undergoes regular scheduled maintenance. It is currently being further diagnosed after I file

Merging onto the freeway into fast-moving traffic, the car hesitated for several seconds before it downshifted and started to accelerate. On-coming cars had to brake and honked at me. That can be a dangerous situation. The car also hesitates when just slowing down to turn a corner. It takes 5 to 10 seconds for the car to accelerate. *tr

Blinding lights on radio in dash. Lights on the radio for the 2007 camry are so blinding at night that it makes driving at night a safety hazard. You can dim the radio lights only so far and then the rest of the instrument lights go out but yet the radio lights only dim to a point. This is also a dangerous situation.
