On the morning of october 19th, while driving approximately three miles from my home, an incredibly loud banging sound shocked me into stopping the car on the side of the road. It felt as if something was going to come through the floor and into the interior console of the car. Panic-stricken, I didn't want to move the car again. When I called my husband, he instructed me to drive extremely slowly to the very short distance of a local mechanic's garage.upon inspection the mechanic found that the bolts on the driveshaft connected to the transmission were never torqued when the car was built at the gm plant. My mechanic informed me that the bolts unscrewed and fell into his hand without using a wrench and several of the bolts were sheared off, causing the driveshaft to come away from the

The cars engine runs away with my car when I am sitting with my foot on the brake or at very slow idle with my foot on the brake. The problem is one that needs to be recalled. The internet is full of the same complaint for the same year and mileage,( 29,000-32,000 miles ). I am reaching out to you because my car is at the dealer, nothing has been done to fix the problem, and I refuse to take my car back at this point. Purchased vehicle in 2/08; 12/10/08 - noticed car was wet in floorboards and ceiling; since 12/08, dealership has attempted to repair vehicle 4 times; car is still leaking; dealership replaced several parts and called a specialists to try to solve the problem; dealership admits they cannot correct the problem; the manufacturer has offered a trade option to me with me paying money out of pocket; at the present time, I am unsure what the amount will be, but any amount is not acceptable. *tr

The contact stated that while sitting idle with the brakes depressed, the speedometer suddenly increased to 80 MPH as the rear tires began spinning uncontrollably. The contact immediately placed both feet on the brake pedal and the vehicle resumed normal operation. The vehicle was later taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the contact was advised that they were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. 2008 Cadillac cts car accelerated. *mw the consumer stated he was pulling into a parking space, when the vehicle suddenly accelerated jumping over the sidewalk. The only thing for him to do, was to turn off the ignition. He was able to get the vehicle back on the pavement. The dealer was unable to find a problem with the vehicle. One year later, as the consumer was approaching a stop light, the vehicle failed to stop and kept accelerating. He managed to turn the ignition off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The wheels also began spinning rapidly as the vehicle veered from side t0 side abnormally. The contact powered off the vehicle and once restarted, the ABS and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle started to slow down independently and stalled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was unable to be diagnosed, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle control sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Drivers rear view mirror will not return to original position when switching back to park or drive. Mirror creeps upwards and has to be manually adjusted to proper position. Dealer has worked on this problem no less than 5 times and says they cannot do anything else. *tr
I was driving my cts Cadillac when with no warning I heard a loud noise, I pulled over to see what it was I saw that my rear window had shattered nothing had hit my window I drove straight to the Cadillac dealer and they informed me they can not repair it with out having me pay for the cost. I went online and searched and found that this type of incident had happened before on gm models and was listed on the tsb and it should be replaced. The articulated headrests designed to reduce neck injuries in a crash, move up of their own accord during normal driving. This results in a safety concern. If the headrest moves up during normal operation, will it still function as designed should an accident occur. I have contacted Cadillac division twice without a response. The selling dealer service department does not know what is causing the problem, but other cases have been reported. *tr
I took my car to have it service and the technician said the gas tank is leaking from the top. My car is a AWD and this will be a costly repair. Why is there not a recall on a dangerous common problem? Thanks
