Tl* the contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet colorado. While driving 65 MPH, the contact smelled a burning odor. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and noticed smoke appearing under the passenger side dashboard. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the heater fan relay was burning and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 144,000.
This vehicle seems to have a mind of its own. You get in the vehicle to go somewhere and it wont start. Everything comes on, lights, radio, a/c but it wont crank. Let it sit 10-20 minutes and it cranks right up. And it doesn't do it all the time. It may happen 3 times in a week then go 2 months or longer without happening again. It has caused me to be late for work, sitting a the gas station many many times!. I have tried using the key fob and just using the key to unlock the doors. It doesn't make a difference. Please tell me how to fix this!

The right headlight on the vehicle continually has condensation in it. It has been replaced by dealer twice in 18 or so months. Now it has condensation in it again. It is a Chevrolet colorado 2008. The truck has not been wrecked or damaged. I'm taking it back to the dealer again in few weeks before the warranty runs out. This problem first appeared with less than 8,000 miles on the truck. The problem happened again within the last 8 months and now it has happened again. The truck now has about 22,000 miles on it. *tr

airbags 3 complaints shown
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet colorado. The contact stated that after being involved in a crash, the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the air bag failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 125,000.
After purchasing my truck the driver side air bag warning light will indicate the unit began staying on while operating the vehicle. The indication light for the passenger operate correctly when one is seated and has the seat belt connected. This problem continues to exist currently only on rare times it may go out. Dealer indicates poor wiring quality through design. The issue has been repaired several times but the light continues to remain on. Is this also a bigger part of the faulty air bags as well. Very concerned. *tr
Received a safety letter several year ago (told number was 14609), I called the dealer when I got the letter (approximately 2014) and was told since my airbag light was on even though my seat belt didn't retract properly, I was not valid for the fix. Move forward to today, my airbag light came on a couple weeks ago (intermittent at first, then steady), my seat belt hasn't retracted properly for years. I took it to a mechanic for repair and they replaced the seat belt retractor. So 2 fold, I find out the letter was just an extended warranty which I missed by date but not by miles. And everything online implies the wiring harness should have been replaced so not only am I out the money I am not sure if we solved the issue. I don't understand how y'all could have made an airbag issue just
brakes 3 complaints shown
The brakes drag and squeal all of the time. They grab some of the time, and have temporarily locked up on 6 occasions. Being ABS; they don't actually lock up but do grab hard enough and long enough to make the tires "chirp". The problems are not noticeable at highway speed but the lower than expected MPG and higher than expected variation in MPG makes me think they occur at all speeds. Having no doubt that the brakes are defective worries me. I'm anxious about when they will fail and at what speed. On four of the six "lock up" occasions the vehicle had shifted itself into high range 4wd. That might have happened but went unnoticed the other two times. Every time it shifted itself into 4wd (and tried to lock the brakes) was after backing up. When the vehicle is self braking; a turn
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet colorado. While driving 35 MPH, the brake pedal required excessive force in order to stop the vehicle. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the rear brake drums failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.
Rear brake issues no problems found at dealer 2 times I had taken it to them. Rear brake noise screeching squealing, lock up when moisture is present, and in an emergency stop the pedal gets real stiff and is hard to stop. I put in a complaint to Chevrolet and they said there is nothing they can do. I feel unsafe driving this vehicle after two close calls with emergency stopping. Please help me I don't know what to do I don't want to get into an accident. *tr

Vibration at highway speeds. Dealer cannot find or fix problem. Very unsafe to drive. Replaced hubs, tires pads rotors and drums still have same problem. *tr
I have a question on regarding my 2008 Chevy colorado. I recently had my truck in for service due to the rear axle problems I feel need attention. During my observation. The tire on the driver side space between the wheel and the body of the truck is different from the passenger side. I cannot stick my hand in the driver side of the wheel and the passenger I can stick my hand and arm in. I was told this is normal and that there is no way that is so because the axle is one whole piece. I feel that when I drive the axle somewhat slides from side to side. My colorado was bought new. Currently it has 20,300 miles on. *tr
steering 1 complaint shown
With less than 150 miles on the vehicle the steering malfunctioned...it sort of pulled to the left when it was given a jerk it caught like it should and then it veered to the left again. Then the tires caught and the truck went to the right. At this time the driver was unable to control the vehicle's path and it veered into a ditch, hit a tree, and flipped over. This occurred after the driver turned off of a major highway and traveled about 1/10 of a mile on the road he turned onto. *tr

The pass lock system will not let the truck start has left me stranded many times. Heater blower motor stopped working on 1, 2, & 3 settings. Blower motor resistor and plug were burnt, started a minor fire could have been worse. When I turn the vehicle to the right makes a large vibration and the vehicle shuts down can't get it to turn back on.
