THIS IS IN FACT JUST THE NATURAL TREAD WEAR, BUT AS THE DESIGN OF THE LATERAL GROOVES CONTINUES AROUND TO THE SIDEWALL, THE VERY ENDS OF THE GROOVES DO NOT WEAR GIVING RISE TO A ""BAND"" OF WEAR AT THE EDGE OF THE CONTACT PATCH."
