The dashboard on this vehicle is melting. This is causing a dangerous glare while driving. Nissan will do nothing about this. A recall needs to occur. *tr
My dashboard is melting. When I drive, the sun hits the dashboard. It looks like a sheet of water because it is melted. The reflection hits my eyes and affects visibility. Everything that touches the dashboard gets sticky and black marks. I have tried to get this resolved with Nissan, but they refuse to cover all of the costs. I cannot afford to pay the huge labor costs and I do not fee that I should be liable for a factory defect. This is not only cosmetic, but a safety issue. *tr
I bought a 2008 Nissan altima in florida. I first started to notice my dashboard had a sticky residue in july 2011. It has been progressively worse everyday. I have also begin to notice my dashboard is also cracking. I know this is not an isolated issue. The visibility has become a safety concern. There are times where I can't even see the road due to the glare. This issue needs to looked at if not recalled. *tr
Melting dash board causing visibility too be problem when driving toward the sun Nissan dealer say they do not cover this issue. The glare coming off windshield from dash board is a hazard to driving. *tr
Affected area of vehicle :dashboard this is a safety hazard! This vehicle was purchased on 7/14/2012. At the time of purchase, it had approximately 36889 miles. Purchased as a previously owned vehicle. About one month after, we noticed that the top of the dashboard by the windshield material started to melt. The material, is like a foam that gets hot, sticky and starts to melt. It can start a fire any minute. We took the vehicle to the Nissan dealership, located at semoran blvd in orlando, fl, the same place we bought the car two months before. The staff at the dealership proceeded to inform me that, after several visits, that they never seen something like that and they couldn't do anything because the warranty expired. We took the vehicle to a Nissan authorized shop. The technicia

The sun visors on the altima coupe break and hang straight down in the field of vision. I just ordered my second sun visor and I am waiting for it to arrive. They must be held up out of the way with one hand while driving with the other hand (until you can get it removed). When I suggested that there should be a recall, the Nissan parts man said " I don't disagree with you". I think that means it happens a lot.
The dashboard has melted causing dangerous sun glare. The dashboard is sticky, goody liquid like reflective surface. The extreme reflectiveness of the melted surface makes it very difficult to see out of the windshield when driving in sunshine.
While driving my vehicle on a highway at about 60 MPH the sunroof exploded. Shattered glass flew all over the interior of the vehicle. It was about 9pm. The road was smooth and only one other car was riding about 100 feet behind me. There were absolutely no overpasses. *tr
airbags 3 complaints shown
Passenger airbag light comes on when the vehicle is in motion and an adult passenger (150 + pounds) is in the front passenger seat. This occurs intermittently and sometimes corrects itself and sometimes not. When the light is on the passenger is not protected and therefore subject to serious injury in the event of an accident. I have taken it to the dealer at least three times and each time I am told that the airbag system is working properly. I even took it back with my wife sitting in the front seat and the airbag light was on so they could see for themselves the problem. It did not make any difference to them. This problem occurred immediately after I purchased this vehicle new in december 2007 and continues today. Because the problem occurs intermittently you never know if your
Tl* the contact owns 2008 Nissan altima. The contact stated that when an adult over 150 lbs to 200 lbs occupied the passenger seat, the air bag off indicator light would illuminate indicating that the air bag was not active. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they made repairs to the passenger air bag sensor but to no avail. The manufacturer advised the contact that the correct repairs were made to the vehicle and the air bag was not functioning because the passengers were not seated in the seat correctly. There were no further repairs. The failure mileage was 25,000 and the current mileage was 27,000.
The passenger airbag indicator shows the airbag to be off with an adult passenger in the seat. Repeated visits to the dealership have resulted in Nissan service stating the system is working properly, but repeated cases continue. *tr
brakes 1 complaint shown
Drivers seat squirms moves and is not rigid. Dealership says they can not replicate the problem. Every time I turn the seat makes noise and sounds squirms like its not properly secure. The passenger airbag light also comes on when a fully grown adult is sitting in it. This happens randomly on an average of 4-5 times monthly. When the airbag light comes on the passenger airbag is deactivated not protecting the individual. There is also an issue with the brakes when pressed sometimes the brakes in the front do not grab properly and they grind badly causing the car not to stop as well . The dealership says can not replicate but stated they are aware of these problems and that Nissan may issue a recall. For the time being the car is unsafe and nothing is being done about it. *tr

The switch that allows the car to start and lights the brake lights is sticking, this is a common problem that Nissan is aware of. The car not starting is annoying, if the switch sticks after the car is started then the brake lights will fail to illuminate, that is dangerous. The car fails to start with regularity, if the switch is manipulated it starts, I do not know if the break lights are failing but I assume this is occurring. These cars should be recalled for replacement of these switches. *tr
