When I started the car, the steering wheel became very tight and I would have to struggle to turn the steering wheel, while sitting still the steering wheel would vibrate. Started it up the next day and it turned with no problem.

"power steering" warning message in the driver information console displayed along with chime to alert of an event. Dealer inspected and found the DTC c0460 for steering wheel position sensor, physical inspection found a worn sensor. Dealer replaced steering column and recalibrated the pscm to the vehicle, cleared codes and rechecked operation. Dealer found no open recalls in the us for this VIN, but did find reference to 2012 recall in canada for power steering failure covering this make/model/year with replacement of steering column as corrective action plus power steering motor control module for 2008 specific. *tr

On december 27th, 2018 I was driving approximately 68mph down the highway. I proceeded to change to the left lane, when I lost power steering. My car is the 4 cylinder, which means it has the electronic power steering. "power steering" showed on my display along with a chime. I managed to get the car off of the road and turned it off. After 10 seconds, I started it back up, and regained the power steering. I continued on for about 15 miles to work with no issues. After work, I drove around 25 miles to town, and then drove around running errands with no issue. The next day on my drive to work I experienced the same issue, at the same speed, about 4 different times. Turning the car off and restarting it fixes the problem for a few miles. There is an active recall for my car's year,

There is a current recall out for certain models of the g6 for electronic steering assist failure. As well as u joint issues. I believe my car is affected. My power steering only works correctly when its under 70 degrees. And it only works for a short time. Ive owned this car for 5 years and never once had a full day where the steering worked like it should. Dealer says my car is not affected and wants me to pay for a new steering motor. As for the u joint issue with steering. Ive spent well over $2,000 on trying to get my steering/suspension fixed and it still has problems. I have to get the vehicle aligned every month. The steering either jolts to one side when going over a bump. Or another way when flooring it. Its beyond dangerous! When turning a corner, you have to straighten out the

The steering wheel shakes and feels like it is out of control. I was told that the power steering module and motor assembly at the steering column needed to be replaced. This work was done at a cost of $810.00 I was also told that a recall for some 2008 g6 models had been issued with bulletin # 10183, however, my car was not in the VIN listing. Perhaps it should have been placed in the recall listing. *tr

I have power and heated leather seats for Pontiac g6 gt coupe. Probably, the seat connection metals have bad quality and are broken. When we raise the seat it tilts to one side. If the seat malfunctions while braking may cause injuries. I have seen in the internet reports from others for a similar issue on Pontiac seats.

I would like to inquire as to whether there are any ongoing investigations and possibly any recalls for the Pontiac g6. We purchased a g6 in august 2009 and recently started experiencing several different issues. I have googled the issues we are experiencing and am finding that these particular issues have been around since the 2005 g6 and all seem to be connected to a malfunctioning door latch mechanism affecting one and/or all door latching mechanisms. These are serious safety features that in my opinion would warrant a recall, specifically, the door locks malfunctioning. I do plan to take my vehicle in to be serviced at the local harry robinson GMC/Pontiac in fort smith ar. The cost for assessment is $80 and between $100 & $200 per door mechanism if more than 1 is affected, with the

The passenger headlight kept going out, replaced it 3 times in 1 yr. A bump in the road causes it to go off or on. Tonight the driver side is now doing the same thing. The highbeams work but not lowbeams. I have found hundreds of complaints online for the same vehicle. Why is there no recall on this issue if hundreds of 2008 Pontiac g6 headlight assembly parts are "melted and malfunctioning" I should not have to pay out of my pocket to correct an issue that is not a result of my operation of the vehicle. This is a very serious safety issue. Both headlights went out before I got home tonight and I could not see anything, had to pull over in a dark area on the back road (again unsafe), banged on the hood and one came back on. What does it take to have a recall issued on this~~a laws

While approaching a stop sign I pressed the brake pedal and was almost rear-ended due to my brake lights not coming on until brake pedal was fully depressed down to the floor. I continue to have this problem and now have to brake later to be able to press the pedal down enough to illuminate the brake lights. Thus putting myself and others in danger of a possible accident. *tr

Low beam headlight (driver side) goes out randomly. Have replaced bulbs and it happens again a few days later. After a few more days it goes out again and then a few more days it comes back. I have removed headlight assembly and used electric tape to hold wires together tightly but it still occurs. Seems to be a common problem with g6s based on all the problems posted on the internet. Last time they decided to go out was on the highway in a snow storm. Definite safety issue. *tr

Beginning on nov 17, 2013 and up until present, the driver's side headlight of my 2008 Pontiac g6 continues to burn out. The first incident caused me to get a traffic ticket for driving an unsafe vehicle. The ticket is the way I initially discovered the problem. The very next morning after receiving the ticket, I immediately changed the headlight. To my dismay, the headlight went out again about 2 weeks after it was first replaced. I then had to have the headlight replaced again. On today's date, december 28th, while driving I smelled a very strong odor of something burning. I immediately pulled over to check the car and found that the driver's side headlight was blackened. I removed the headlight and observed that the wiring harness connector was completed burned with smoke comin
