2008 Saturn Vue owner complaints

Excessive frame rust at 107,000 miles. Major holes and chunks of supporting materials are missing. This is near the rear subframe on both sides of the vahicle. Makes it dangerous to drive and should be recalled by GM

Driving on interstate 10 pensacola fl heading northwest going 70-75 miles an hour semi truck about 2 car lengths behind me I m int the right lane cars to my left traffic is heavy 3:45 in the pm. My car makes chunk then a bump engine shuts off no power no power steering semi locks up his brakes almost hits me pulled the car to side of the road. After I collected myself car wont turn over no smoke or fluids popped the hood nothing to indicate what happened. Had it towed to vinnc whibbs I was told the engine locked up no reason why. Put a new engine in found out in fact it was the transmission which caused the engine to lock up. I did research on this and come to find out it is a defective part in gm cars int the transmission the 35r wave plate has not been properly heat treated and can cause

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 Saturn vue. The contact stated while driving at approximately 20 MPH, there was a grinding noise emerging from the engine. The vehicle was towed to the contacts residence. The next day the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission module was damaged and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 119,000. The VIN was not available.

The transmission just up and stops working. The car must be turned off, wait 10-15 minutes and it will continue again, up until it stops working again. It happens under power or cruising. It happens whenever & wherever it wants.

My transmission failed as I was accelerating off a stop line. The vehicle would not go above 30 miles an hour and was at 3000 RPM. When attempting to park and back into a parking spot the car would not go into reverse. There appears to be a recall on this model. Is my car under this recall. *tr

Vehicle was parked inside the garage in parked transmission position, suddenly the vehicle rolled backward and hit the garage door without any warning!

Just backed out of my driveway and drove 2 blocks down my street. Stopped at the stop sign and the car wouldn't move. It was still running, however it wouldn't move. The car coming up behind me didn't notice my flashers and had to slam on his brakes which caused him to be rear ended. Everyone was ok. Car was pushed back to my driveway and there it sits. Tried to start it and it still won't go anywhere. The check engine light is on, but it was not on before it stopped, or while being pushed back. I can't afford to have it towed anywhere right now to be checked out. The used dealership I bought the car from gave me an obd scanner. Transmission codes P0700 and P2723 came up.

I was concerned about the traction control/stabilitrak feature on my 2008 Saturn vue redline. I've owned the vehicle for almost 16 months (purchased brand new) and within that time period the traction control/stabilitrak indicators turned on in the dic approximately 15-20 times. The vehicle then starts to jerk pretty rough. I need to pull of the road and shut down the vehicle then restart for the indicator lights to shut off. My Saturn 2008 has 47 000 miles and it already needs heater core replacement. I took it in because check engine light was on. It cost $333 to replace cam haft acuters. Six months ago I took my car in for one of the safety recalls because gm was recalling 44,451 2008 Saturn vue vehicles with body color outside door handles. The outside door handles may stick or bind. If this were to occur, the door may not latch when closed. Takata recall. While I was making a turn on my 2008 Saturn vue the steering wheel got stiff and I couldnt turn it no more... I stepped on the brakes and it started working again but now the steering wheel feels more stiff and sometimes shakes as I make turns.

I had driven to the store and parked the car. After shopping, I started the car and attempted to pull out of the parking spot. The steering wheel was extremely hard to turn, and I realized that I shouldn't try to drive it. I returned it to the parking spot and called a tow truck. First was the parking brake, after shopping in williamsburg mall we got back in the car and would not move, the parking brakes got stuck.towed to mechanic and they released the brake so that we could go back home, richmond. And told me not to engage the parking brake till a mechanic in my city will fix the problem. Passenger headlight went out. I attempted to fix it, but a new bulb doesn't resolve the issue. The protective cover over the wiring going to the light is melted and there are noticeable burn marks around the light and light housing. *tr

Drove to a store .5 miles from my house noticed my car was smoking from under the hood. Drove back home, parked, and turned the car off, then raised the hood and the wire harness by my starter was on fire.

When it snows my driveway is on a hill and my car is in park it rolls backwards down the hill and ill look outside to find it moved from were I left it. Now for the last few weeks if I park at the store, school,job and get ready to go try to shift the car on drive when I step on the brake to shift it I hear and feel click sound and cant move the gear.

My Saturn vue redline was hit by an oncoming vehicle. The seat belt on the rear passenger seat was ripped from the seat, from the interior. The seat belt was found wrapped up in the axel, wheel and tire. The door to the vehicle did not open at any time. I have photos if you would like to see them. No one was injured in the accident, but if someone had been in that seat investigators said that the person would have been ripped in two. I only want someone to see if this is a problem with the Saturn vue as I own another one and do not want to take the chance of having someone killed or injured. I have contact general motors, but they keep giving me the run around. It seems that they are only interested if someone has been injured. *tr

Safety recall for 2008 Saturn vue with same color door handles would be replaced with chrome handles. My 2008 Saturn vue has the same color door handles and when I took it into the dealership, they stated that they would not replace the handles because the VIN wasn't part of the recall. However, my door handles have stuck in the open position several times. Knowing of the recall, I'm very careful to make sure that the door handle latches and the door closes. Although I'm careful, my passengers may not notice it and could possibly have the door open on them. *tr
